1997 Polaris Indy Trail Touring

I purchased this Polaris snowmobile in as is condition, it wouldn't run well but it would start. My friend Pat told me to bring it over and he would take a look at it. It could be something simple like a fuel filter or carb cleaning.
When Pat took it apart he found a broken piston skirt as well as some other issues, so I bought a used 488 motor for it from a parts supplier.
Since we had it this far down, Pat asked me if I wanted to just rebuild the top end of the used motor, and we did (mostly Pat)

Nice ride .. I had a 2007 Artic Cat Z1.. used it for 3 yrs... sat in the driveway more than I had it out due to the lack of snow around here... have fun!

Those old Indy's were pretty good sleds, but once you ride the rider forward chassis you are ruined forever lol. Curious how many miles were on the old motor

There were 3512 miles on it. At my age this will probably be my last sled. Neighbor has one of those rider forward sleds, they LOOK expensive just sitting still! lol
