Not say it won’t work just started the video but I do know from putting one of the ac units in they recommend something crazy like 18 inch on each side of the unit for clearance.

Love the ac unit video. How do you handle the condensation? Do you have any videos of the installation?
I have a 1986 cab over pop up camper that I need to install a/c unit on… thanks for the videos…😊

Do you have a video yet of the final instal and how you're collecting the condensation? Great video thanks!

    Thank you for the video!
    We need installation details.
    What about condensation?
Where does the air come from at the side and top A/C vents?

It's cool to see someone doing this with 200ah batteries and Solar. I've got almost the same setup minus the Solar but that's coming up. Thanks for sharing.

It’s a fun experiment. More videos coming. (Harvesting the condensation for consumption)

@@covetthecamper2289 that's a really good idea instead of wasting the water, collect it and use it. I might try that too.

What do you think changed between this test and the previous test w/ regards to the breaker and it's measured temperature? I don't believe you stated you changed anything, correct?

Hi, did you determine what the initial compressor startup wattage is for this unit? And what wattage is your inverter? Thanks!

Pretty cool. Where is the intake air for the condenser side of the air conditioner coming from?

Nice install. Where is the moisture/condensation that the A/C unit is pulling out of the air go? Normally the moisture it pulls out of the air leaks out of the back of the A/C unit? Do you have something to catch it with?

Yeah, I’m harvesting around a gallon of water for every 4 hrs of air conditioner use.
Modification to the pan includes a drain hole, clear 3/8” water line to a 2 gallon water jug mounted down by the bumper for easy access.
I just run it through my Katadyn water filter. (For washing, cooking etc)
If I’m going to use it for drinking, I’ll add 1/4 tsp of Himalayan salt per gallon of water.

Frigidaire FFRA062WAE vs Frigidaire FFRE053WAE ….. there is a model that is same exact size...but 6000 BTU....the 5000btu is 4amps 410 watts...says 150sq ft....the 6000 BTU is 5.1 amps 545 watts says 250sqft.....my feeling is the more powerful would be better...you can always run it less on eco mode...but if needed its nice to have more power.....they have the exact same case size and blower speeds etc etc....I guess one just has a bigger compressor.......and the price is the same......I looked at all the other small 16" inch wide units. they are all 5000btu....the Fridgidaire FFRA062WAE 6000btu....being more powerful if needed in the same small case and only 1 amp and 100 watts higher saying it will do 250 soft vs 150 soft.....like I said you can run the more powerful unit on eco mode if you dont need it or are on batteries...but its nicer to have more cooling power if needed or if your on shore power....

As expected, very nice install. Using outside existing access panel is great. Can close when not using. Inside, cool air may have a problem getting out of the cabinet. I suspect you will add ducting. Sadly, most campers do not have outside access panel with inside cabinet like yours. I would have do to major remodel, and add outside access panel. But really like your design, not sticking out of camper side. I am afraid I am stuck with expensive 12v roof top unit.

Yeah, I got luck that the old battery compartment is a good fit.

i wonder what's the duty cycle on the compressor? how often does it reach set temp and cycle off?
