These videos are like comfort food for my mind.

I love this and the peacefulness of simplicity you show . Here in Australia we have what is a strange time because we are surrounded by Christmas paraphenalia as well as the idea that in 30 or 40 degreesC of heat we eat turkey, and roast vegetables while the ice cream melts and what is left has to be thrown out the next day? Crazy! My season will be of simple food and honoring being in a beautiful country while ignoring all the imported ideas that just don't work here.

12:33 Definitely knitting teaches you a lot of lessons. Perseverance and patience. Knitting is a life long learning experience that will challenge you forever. It's worth every stitch, every mistake you have to undo and re-do, it's worth all the hours you'll invest in learning to work with different yarns, techniques and working different things out. It teaches you to better organize your thoughts I find, creating patterns and different ways to put them together and learning the history of knitting and all the different cultures that embrace this is mind blowing.

I'm glad you came to realize what makes you happy and that you have found someone in life who feels the same way about the surroundings. :) :) You have a happy and rich life now! :)

I live near London and we rarely get snow anymore but when we do it's amazing. I love the quietness and seem to be able to see and smell more. I wish I could live where it snows guaranteed.

Agreed about the snow..it makes it lighter...I live in Holland and last year we (2023) we had so much rain, that makes it so dark! I was so sad because of it! It kept on raining from oktober untill april....this year is better already.....

I am 55 living also alone in the province. Though rural, but not really remote, just enough space and quiteness to enjoy my life in tranquility away from the chaotic city life.

I was in the military in Alaska, which is very close to your environment there. 😅Some civilians that worked on base, were there working for decades. However, there were some, that stayed longer, and retired there.They all said, when they retire, they were moving to the lower 48 USA States for warmer skies. As they got older, it became more severe mentally and physically. Location FT Greely AK , near a small town of Delta Junction. The Mountaineering School has moved from there now, many years ago. They have now moved 24 hour surveillance on Foreign missiles from Russia, China and North Korea. Best wishes for you and your dog.
