- Hello, dear (knitting) friends ❤️
As I promised, here's the video about knitting. In this video I talk about my favourite knitting designers, most of them from Nordic or Scandinavian countries - somehow their designing style reflects the same feeling of North I also feel and enjoy. Also I share a few of my favourite yarns and show my biggest secret on how it looks like I finish knitted items so fast 🙊
Grab a hot cup of coffee or tea and maybe your knitting needles, and enjoy ❤️

I was born in India: in childhood, I remember my mum used to knit a lot. She also had a stash of wool and in my childhood, me and my sister wore sweaters knitted by Mom, even our school sweaters. She also made sweaters, gloves and socks for dad, our grandparents and other family members: As far as I remember she learnt it from the group of women who lived in the same society since our dads worked in the engineering projects of the government, they made small settlements in remote areas where they can live with their family. Pretty much like a job of a armed force personals. My dad was not in the army, but in the engineering services for a Governmental organization building hydro electric dams So I spent my childhood in the mountains of Himalayas, which more or less has the vibes of Northern Finland I guess. Probably such passions come naturally to women living in such places:
When I was 6, my dad passed away. Unfortunately, my mom had to throw away her passion projects and go to work to. Luckily since my dad was in Central Government and died on duty, my mom was able to get a good job in the same Government organization, not the same post as my dad of course, since she is not an engineer, and she didn't think twice to have it because she had to raise two children, me and my sister. We moved to a big city where my mom was born and raised.
Now she is very old, unable to do these things, but hopefully she would enjoy this video. . She doesn't understand English very well, but I will surely share this video with her. It brought back nostalgia to me. Thanks: 🙂🙂
I enjoyed very much reading your history of love and effort about your family and mum. 💜 Lovely words! Hello from Rosario, Argentina 🙂💐🇦🇷
@@euge21072 Thank You and hello to you from Lille, France! ☺
Thank you for sharing your life experience with us. This is a nice community here.
@@ceilconstante640 Thank you for the nice comment and yes, I agree with you. I follow few lifestyle channels just to sometimes escape the mundane city life and this channel is one of them.
I’m glad you’re looking after your mom and wanting to share this lovely video with her. I hope you both can together
Sanna, your knits are so beautiful! Could you perhaps do a ‘big’ video project where you teach how to knit one of your sweaters step by step? I’m learning how to knit and and know the basics but it would be so helpful to also see you do the whole project with some general explanations. 🙏😃
Your sweaters and your mittens are so very beautiful and you do a excellent job God Bless you dear ❤🧶🪡🪢♥️!!!
Your knits are so beautiful! I think we knitters are similar all over the world keeping a stash of yarn that refills as quickly as we empty it. I think it’s because we see the love in each skein, wrapping us with warmth!
Your sweaters are absolutely gorgeous! 💙
I love your positivity, enthusiasm and energy. And I'm watching a knitting video, didn't think that would ever happen.
Beautiful 🌿
This video is a work of art: all the lovely naturals (wool) and primitives (decor), and traditional handcrafting. I find it very soothing and will return to watch it repeatedly. Love the primitive decor, your sweet voice and soft smile. Softly-patterned sweaters, sweet life. Sweaters were nearly my religion as a teen; I left many of them behind (I must replace my reindeer one!). But I still find Irish and Scottish handknit pieces when we thrift, and I hang them on our walls as they have such character. And I think I will now knit wool, yes, for pillows, and maybe one sweater, as I have always longed to do. Thank you. I still have some vintage Lopi pattern books from my teen years and you have reawakened my passion for them. The blue patterned mittens are so lovely: they and your bear pillow caught my eye. The mittens are also from one of the books you mentioned? Blessings of peace to you . . .
I realize that and knit continental style but the way she tensions the yarn with 2 or more colors is consistently fast, seemingly flawless and efficient. Truly amazing!! Thank you!
While I do not knit (I’d be lucky to thread a sewing needle), I definitely appreciate and admire the skill and talent it takes to create these gorgeous sweaters. 🧶
I grew up with 80% of my clothes were knited. I love what you do and keep up the tradition of you country.❤
I started knitting this year because of you! I saw you weaving in ends in one video and thought: if she can do it so can I! And I’m loving it thank you ❤
I love your knitting. I made my husband a similar sweater about 50 years ago. He loved it.
I finally got to sit down and watch this lovely episode with my needles in hand and a cup of tea 😊 And it did not disappoint. I watch a lot of knitting podcasts but there is something special about seeing knitting so organically incorporated into life - the fact that it appears one way or other in most of your videos is wonderful and spending this time talking about just your knitting practice was the icing on the cake! ❤ I hope it will become a regular feature of your episodes. Your channel and your work is so beautiful, Sanna. ❤ from Ireland.🧶🍀
Hi Saana, and thank you for this lovely video of your sweaters. They are all so beautiful! Also, thank you for the book recommendations. Keeping warm in Canada.

Thank you,
Goooood knitting
Alicja from Poland😊
As a fellow knitter, I know how heartbreaking it can be to have to unravel, so I look forward to seeing your finished sweater in a future video. Happy knitting.
BEAUTIFUL.
Your sweaters are lovely. I love watching your process. I do not have your talent, but certainly enjoy seeing you do this. Thank you for sharing.😊
Thanks for your video! Is was so beautiful and calming! I wish you wonderful day
beautiful inside , beautiful outside and you create beautiful things , thank you for sharing
Wonderful video, from making balls from yarn with that wooden piece, it’s all so nice, sharing books and patterns. Really liked it
Loved watching this video, brought back good memories ( I'm old ), sitting in our tiny kitchen eith my mom and grandma me holding up the yarn on both arms while hrandma rolled it in a ball 😊 when there was mobody to hold the yarn I would use the back of a kitchen chair. Thanks for this Sanna.
Susanna
Omg why did I never think of having 20 different things started 😮 what a great idea! I’ve been only knitting on one thing, finishing it then going to the next. Time to try your method!
Sanna, your taste is very good! Love all the colors and styles on you! I look better in shades of browns and blues in those kind of sweaters. The one that you are wearing with the turtle neck is gorgeous!! Love to have that in shades of brown and blues! Looks like a sweater you can wear for the rest of your life! Thank you for showing us all your wools and that efficient and fast contraption for turning skeins of yarn into balls of yarn, pretty cool ! Spring is coming for you guys! We are enjoying it here in Maine, USA, the most northern state on the eastern side of the U.S. It is so beautiful now with all the fresh greenery and many, stunning flowers from bulbs, shrubs, or trees....Take Care 💟
I sympathise - I've had to unravel several things lately, then reknit. The thought of it always is so much worse than the actual doing, somehow. Once I start it becomes its own challenge (mainly how to stop everything getting tangled 😅) and I comfort myself with how much better the end result will be if I take this time now. I live your sweaters - beautiful work!
Well done, Sanna. These are all so beautifully made. My mother made most of my clothes growing up. I think many times, it is a lost art. So glad to see you showing others and giving inspiration.
As a knitter myself, I found this so interesting Sanna. I love all of those colourwork sweaters - just what you need in your cold climate.
Sanna your sweaters, mittens, socks are so beautiful! I wish I had your talent. Thank You sharing. I also Love this topic.
Upeita luonnonläheisiä värejä ja kauniita kuvioita. Neulominen on niin ihanaa. 🥰 Sun videoiden parissa tulee aina niin rauhallinen tunne.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful creations. Since I live in Kentucky, USA, I don’t have the luxury of wearing such cozy knit wear. But that doesn’t keep me from knitting sweaters!! I have socks on the go always. I would love to live in your village for one year to experience the beauty in nature. Thank you. I love watching your videos
I don’t knit (my wife did a lot of knitting) but I found this fascinating. You do beautiful work! ❤
Your appearance speaks to my heart. Thanks für your beautiful work and a pleasant video. 🌹
The Blue one with the line of bears is stunning! Thank You for the presentation and words of wisdom! Skal
Your knitting is so beautiful. I love your sweaters and mittens that you make. Now you have made we want to try your favorite yarn!
Your knitting is amazing. I do not knit. Many reasons why, but to see your work and color choices & patterns you choose is beyond beautiful. Truly. You may see it as not much to rave about. But for those of us who cannot do that kind of work. It is priceless. i think you would be amazed how much people would pay for a sweater like one of these. You ought to try it and see. Here in US we can get premaid tags to sew into garments with our names written on them to add a personal touch to the finished garment. Thanks for sharing this one. I thought it was really special! Tell us more!
Olet todella intohimoinen neuloja.
My mom and my older sidter knited. I am not sure who she learned it from but my sister learned from mom. Mom did such an amazing job. She exactly knew how to creave sleeve holes or the neck line. She had such a good eye for measurement. She was known as the best knitter in the family! 🙂
Sanna, you have such a great talent.
Beautiful! Inspiring indeed. I've always admired those who could knit a sweater, mittens, socks etc.
Watched with constent tears in my eyes.U the beauty of humanity.
I tried to run away from New York life to simple life but I have become a prisoner of my own making.😢❤.
Love all the sweaters especially Dropar. Cozy colors
Sanna! I was laughing at how many things you said that I agree with and experience in my own knitting journey! I am a new subscriber and I just loved watching this. Thank you for sharing, it was definitely inspiring. -Jonie
Hello from a fellow knitter in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. ❤
What an inspiring video with yourself and your beautiful sweaters , you are truly an amazing knitter.
I myself can knit but very plain things, I took a class to learn patterns for a hat for myself, well when I was finished it was just the right size for my granddaughter who was 10. I think I’ll keep with the straight knitting. It was a fun class and I made beautiful friends.
I truly enjoy your videos. Look after yourself and keep up the great work 🧶
Very interesting! Your wool sweaters are beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
My mother used to knitt for me when i was a child. It is something you do in winter here in austria. 😊
Just thrifted my first vintage sweather made from finnish wool, so what a timing for this video!
Sanna, you are so talented. Thank you for sharing this video with us. You are so kind🤗
What a lovely podcast this was! I really enjoyed seeing your knits each is unique yet beautiful! I want more ! Best to you, ClaudiaSJI
Sanna you have such talent and a good ‘eye’ for a beautiful pattern.
Do you sell your creations? I expect they are extremely popular.
Thank you for a beautiful knitting video. Would love to see more like this. 😊
My beautiful friend , sweaters are magnificent . These were knitted proficiently
Sanna. Thank you for sharing your skill and wisdom. You have definetly inspired me to kick my knitting up a knotch.
Such a beautiful and relaxing video! I loved the music and all the sweaters are incredibly beautiful ! I don't knit but used to sew. On many occasions I've had to rip seams and fix mistakes but always worth it in the end to have a well made garment.
i especialy got a cup of tea to watch your video with it , its so cosy to watch .your knitting ,video and photography skills are phenominal ,groetjes from the netherlands
Wow, what lovely jumpers.😊 You have such patience. I would've been tempted to overlook any mistake after all your hard work.
Beautiful work from a remarkable young woman. God bless
I could watch this video over and over. Thank you for making us a knitting video. As a fellow knitter, I am so inspired by your beautiful work. I just got "the lakeside stitches" book a few weeks ago and I am so excited to knit some of the patterns from it. Thank you so much for sharing your knitting with us and showing us all of your beautiful sweaters.
I couldn’t find the book you mentioned, would you mind telling me where you got it? Thank you
Thank you so much for this knitting episode, Sanna 😊🧶 I was mending socks while watching it. I‘ve been putting that off for several years, but now I just need to do it. It‘s like unravelling your sweater, it‘s a bit boring and you would rather create something new. But sometimes it‘s just necessary, because after that, the piece will hold for many years 😊
happy to see more of your knitwear, your sweaters are so beautiful and I love your colour scheme 😊
Thank you Sanna for making this episode! I've admired your many knits in your other videos and appreciated seeing your yarn cupboard and your new project. I've knitted with Tuku Wool but fingering weight. I'm sure I'd enjoy making a sweater with DK weight as well. The colors are so lovely! Hope spring has arrived for you by now!
Background melody music is so awesome.
It reminds me of my late mother. She used to knit all the time.
Sanna Vaara your sweaters are all very beautiful you are so very talented. Can’t wait for more of your videos. Your are a very beautiful young lady inside and out. God bless always.
Wow! Spectacular
Artist born through your hardwork .
Lovely work! Lovely words! Lovely way of life! Greetings from Rosario, Argentina! 🙂💐🇦🇷
Thank you Sanna, your video is beautiful and so inspiring. I have been knitting a Scottish Aran jumper for many years, now I am motivated to finish it! 😊 From Australia. ❤
Exquisite work.... the Foyka design is my favorite, I think. Thank you. I'm 77 and just learning to knit. You are right, it teaches patience.
How wonderful !! Such a master at such a craft..Beautiful !!😊
Beautiful..wow you do knit fast...amazing. Beautiful sweaters all of them. It just looks so very cozy.. thank you. ❤
Absolutely Stunning!!!
So beautiful!!! ❤
Incredible! Now please share how you hold your needles and knit so quickly! You are truly inspirational!!
nordic people knit with the left hand called continental knitting ,it makes less vinger/hand movements that is why it s so fast
I agree, it is truly incredible. I have been knitting since I was 4 years old( which was in the 60ties), but after watching Sanna knit I cannot figure out how on earth she is doing it.😁👌🏻
Kiitos ihanasta videosta!
This was lovely. Thank you for sharing your knits.
That was really very inspiring! Thank you so much ☺️💜✨
Those are some very advanced stitching patterns .
The sweaters are beautiful, Sanna. There are so many things I want to learn to do.🌸
Love all your knitting Sanna! ❤
You are a talented knitter! You should do many more videos of your knits! Thank you for sharing!
So much beauty in 15 minutes! :)
How lovely!
This video is so well done. The sweaters are beautiful and you are very talented knitter. Thanks for sharing

Cordialement 🤩
