    Luke: I've been using Formula 4 in this way (as drying aid, and to prevent spots in direct sun) for a couple of years now. My method is a bit different, however (Might be worth a try for you). I have a *cheap dedicated Foam Cannon specifically and only used for this. I put about 3-4 ounces of the Formula 4 spray wax in my foam cannon and then fill the rest of the 100ML with water. After my contact wash I then Foam down the car with this mixture (it uses very little of the foam cannon contents). It does "Foam" slightly. I'll foam down the entire vehicle which is super fast, then rinse as usual. Works EXCELLENT. I possibly could be using slightly more than you do considering your using spray bottle. But it's fast and super easy. Give it a shot!

    I’ve been using the Formula 4 for helping my black cars dry spot free. I’ve read it’s the solution auto car washes use when you pay extra to get a ‘coat of wax’ with your wash. As you mentioned, it gives a nice shine, but nothing that will hold up past the next rain storm.

    I am curious how this will work in the Phoenix, Arizona sun where it gets hot, really HOT, and almost always sunny where it gets over 100+ degrees by 9:00AM on many days during the summer. Does this compare to Lucas Oil Slick Mist or are these products completely different?

      The simple answer is yes it’s comparable but it makes more sense to compare slick mist to something like meguiars x press spray wax. Scott from Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing featured this same product to remove water spots 3 years ago. Here's the vid: th-cam.com/video/tzLlo3ySIrs/w-d-xo.html

      @@You-sw7tm Yeah, but for whatever reason I didn’t have as much luck down here in Austin (mind you I’m not a detailer). I don’t know if I had the ratio wrong or added and extra step rinsing the soap first, but this was a better video and makes me want to do it again. I think I applied it at the end and laid it on a little thick and basically had to buff it off, which still looked good in the end…

      @@Diaphanic1 it way more concentrated than you would think. I made the same mistake at first. Just keep cutting with distilled water till it works right for you. The company has amazing quality products but the concentration is setup for a wash tunnel with high-quality equipment.

    What he missed is that formula 4 has a chemical that actually removes mineral deposits. It really works great on paint but those car glass roof tops dry fast. But with Formula 4, it weakens the water spots and can easily be removed with waterless wash or quick detailer. Its never easy washing in the sun. The trick dividing the car by half and rinse the car off with formula 4, and then wash the second half. Keeping the other half wet. Dry fast. Have a product to remove water spots just in case you were too slow to dry. I like the spot remover from 3D. Its very strong stuff. I just a wet micro towel put some 3D spot remover. Works great. I have done this for years. It really helps to put the car in the shade to dry. Why suffer.

      True, I don't know that they have a dedicated product for water spot removal, but other products they DO have can be used in that application

    • @Gnetbird

      ?? Superior formula 4 does have the ability to help dissolve minerals deposits. Its a fact.

      @@Gnetbird He's saying it's not a dedicated water spot removal product. It's a byproduct of the chemical makeup, but it's a quick wax/rinse aid that happens to be able to remove mineral deposits (to an extent). He's not disagreeing with you.

    • @Gnetbird
      @Gnetbird 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you josh, my point is that this a great aid for water spot prevention and not for a quick spray and wax. Tech choice would be better.for quick spray and wax and the same price range. Even Superior management admit to that. Its an aid for against water spots. I just feel bad for the guys that are sold equipment for a lot of money and some of those guys could prevent water spots with formula 4 and some vinegar.

    What about the spots you made at the beginning? Did they just disappear after washing? What about spots that were previously on the car?

    Do I have to rinse with water after spray it? Or I can used it as a dried aid... Like spray the formula (on a wet car after washing of course) and use a microfiber to dried it.

    I’ve been having problems with it leaving residue but I’ve been spraying it on after I wash and rinse. So I’ve been washing, rinse, spraying diluted formula 4, rinse again. I have a black truck and it leaves a residue so I’ll try to spray it on while the soap is on and see if that makes a difference.

      @@trails4days Deven, dilute the formula 4 more. It’s been working for me to dilute 20:1 or 30:1, spray the rinse aid on the soapy water right after the contact wash and rinse. No residue. I think at 10:1 it was just too concentrated on a dark vehicle and leaving residue marks. 👍🏼
