Thank you so much for picking a difficult song like this to line up the BPM with. So many other videos pick a more current song that has a perfect BPM throughout the track

There are 2 other ways to figure out Tempo, I think..
    1. Logic Pro's BPM Counter (Audio FX >> Metering). But I have often found it to be inaccurate.
    2. Using an App like Sound Brenner to physically TAP and figure it out. But you gotta get the Time Signature (TS) right first.
    Also..
One way of testing out whether one got the TS & Tempo right is to try to cut a Sample Loop from any given soundtrack. If that Loopy Sample fits into a single Bar (or a whole numbered Bar), then we probably got the TS & Tempo right.
I appreciate your mentioning Variable Tempo. I first noticed it with Elvis' "Falling in Love With You". And realised that variable tempo actually makes for a more interesting soundtrack at times, just like Octave Shifts.
Also, thanks for this video. I am a noob, and am looking to gather the fundamentals from videos like yours, while relying on experimentation (trial-and-error) & instinct for the bulk of my learning.

I Agree. Ben actually inspires me a lot too for my own things on my channel. Keep it up. I would love to see a vid revealing HIDDEN SECRETS in Logic Pro X....hidden features, button, shortcuts that type of stuff.

songbpm.com is reliable, but you probably spelled the name of either the artist or the title incorrectly by accident. You can also use tunebat.com.

Does Live 10 have a function like flex time or a third party VST?

Would this work with FL Studio? I saw that this costs $200 to get.

    What about Time Signature, bud?
Much like figuring out Tempo & Key, isn't that important too?
    * What constitutes a Bar
    * How to count Beats per Bar
    * Note Length/Weight (crochet, minim etc)

Great clip. I like your workflow, it's very straight forward and without much waste of precious time.
The only part I found confusing is that the tune was labeled as Amaj.
You can clearly hear that it is a minor chord at "Remember". I checked on my keyboard how that could have happened and came to the conclusion that the tune is actually in F#min.
If that chord is _wrongly_ inversed, it does indeed lead to Amaj, there is only one wrong key in it :D
A bit hard to explain, so I made a quick picture for your reference: mimojp.com/september-key.jpg
Thanks much for another very informative lesson!
    Cheers

Something sounds off with the blend of the sample - two different chord progressions that don't match. I think you'll have better luck using the key of F#m. That's the original key, according to the official sheet music. www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/mtd.asp?ppn=MN0015575
Also, I'm wondering why you didn't import the EWF track using Smart Tempo.
    I enjoy your vids!

100% right. The video cut off at the end, that’s why I’m gonna do a part 2. I wasn’t happy with that sample at all!Stay tuned!

Craig Rogers smart tempo is notoriously bad for whole songs usually! Struggles with downbeats. But with loops it’s amazing!
