    Hi Elaine. Thank you for this, when you're already so busy! You must enjoy baking (me, too...& eating it : )
    Wish we were close n'bors. You remind me somewhat of my mom, tho' she didn't really bake. She did play the piano daily all her adult life.
    I started making another pineapple cake recipe before I saw yours, but it's very similar (just a different method). This one (in the oven/springform pan) is for our n'bors b'day tomrw. She's a sweet servant. I do have a big cast iron skillet so I'm going to make one for us soon, using the skillet. Thx for the inspiration...your loving honesty comes through. Blessings to you from God above. 💜

      Aw, thank you so much for your kind comment, you truly touched my heart! Your mom must have enjoyed music and the piano, too. I'm hoping that my students will develop the same passion. This cake is really good, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I was just thinking of making one today, since it will freeze well. I can take out a little now and put the rest in the freezer to enjoy later. That way, I can't overindulge, lol. Thanks again for your kind comment, you just made my day! God bless and have a wonderful day! I'm so happy that you stopped by.

    We used to make this cake while I was growing up. However, we used a round cake pan. It would be fun to try in a cast iron skillet. I bet your piano students loved the treat bags! Thank you, Elaine.

    I love how you alternate the milk and flour mixture! I've never seen that before! although I don't bake many cakes! I absolutely love pineapple upside down cake, that flip towards the end was impressive!!!. Love this recipe, great work keep it up :)

    • @ElainesCountryHome
      @ElainesCountryHome  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much! Mixing alternately prevents overmixing and gives cakes a great texture. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the video and I hope you'll try this recipe, it's very good. Thanks for watching!

    Your recipe is the same as my grandma and great grandmother’s and they made it in the 1930s and the 1940s

    • @ElainesCountryHome
      @ElainesCountryHome  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not surprised. I may have tweaked it from a recipe in my 1941 New American Cookbook. My mom gave it to me when I first got married. I picked up a lot of pointers from it as well as some great recipes. Many of the recipes have to be adapted to today's cooking methods, but they're still good. I'm happy that you stopped by, thanks so much for watching!

    That's a good recipe, but it's very easy to flip, Before you flip , put your plate on top of your bake Cake, then with two hands and flip, that why your cake stays in place and you don't possibly mess it up.

    • @ElainesCountryHome
      @ElainesCountryHome  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a tendency to drop the plate, so it's easier for me not to use a plate, lol. I'm a natural-born klutz, lol. Whatever works the best for everyone. Thanks so much for your comment, I'm happy that you stopped by!

    Similar to most "Southern cuisines", Pineapple upside down cake was created by American black slaves pre civil war.
