Thanks so much for this video. I'm new to the harmonica, but I'm not a harmonica player, I'm a guitarist and a singer/songwriter. I agree with you that it's not necessary to play awesome harmonica licks because the harmonica just sounds so good with the guitar and singing. And sorry, but I love Bob Dylan's playing, that's the harmonica sound I am used to and want. I haven't had that much trouble with playing the harmonica since I'm just going for a small amount of accents in my songs. It's actually the holder that has given me some trouble. I'm really glad I got the K&M. It was a good price, it looked like a quality build, and I already knew and trusted K&M. Anyway, I found your suggestion very helpful and encouraging.
I agree with all of these comments. I splashed out on the top of the range adjustable Hohner rack and never looked back. I also use a bullet buddy attached to an old bullet and a Harp Attack pedal to get a warm tone.
Great to see an instructional vid about using a rack. Agree 100% with your comments but would add it's really important to find your sweet spot in terms of Harp position...for me it's the 4 hole directly below my nose! ATB Steve

Farmer Footdrums harp racks are, by far, the best. No shifting, precision positioning, magnet mounting and spare parts! No plastic, just metal and leather.
Hi! I cannot understand how to make the part that holds the harmonica closer or farther, depending on what I have to do (singing or playing). I've just had a bad experience playing live, my lips just couldn't reach the harmonica so I missed those parts 😢. Thanks

Obviously to each there own, but I find it absolutely baffling that you find pursing your lips to be easier with a rack. I'm still a beginner, but I can purse for one note, but the second I try to switch holes it's all downhill.

Thanks for this video, I totaly agree with all these tips. My advice would be to play simple things but trying to play them as clean as possible..

Some brands were mentioned...I got myself a handle from Dunlop. I can relly recommend that brand.
