In the country I live we have one bin that gets emptied every week. Our village has community bins for glass and cardboard that also get emptied once a week. SIMPLE it works and my council tax is 45 pounds a year?? WTF UK?

And all the bins were carried from the back of our house to the bin lorry and tipped manually b6 the bin man and brought back and put in exactly the same place ,these modern ones hardly have to anything just put it on the autotipper then leave it yards from where it should be

I work in an Energy from waste plant.we burn household waste from normal bins and the plastics that get burned is a very large percentage of that waste so for me recycling does not work.

This is for a one person household.

I Was Born 1952 growing up everything went in the Coal Fire once a week a wee coal pail of ashes went in the bin truck straight to land fill , No Need for recycling , glass bottles were on an exchange scheme , ones that weren't went in a different section of bin truck , arch top front to back , 4 sections on each side
And all the bins were carried from the back of our house to the bin lorry and tipped manually b6 the bin man and brought back and put in exactly the same place ,these modern ones hardly have to anything just put it on the autotipper then leave it yards from where it should be

Our bin men on country rounds collected from the house and back; about 200yds. Often got cake, new their names and they always got a good christmas bonus. Now it is the reverse walk and the bags may or may not be picked. No cake for me nor them.

I work in an Energy from waste plant.we burn household waste from normal bins and the plastics that get burned is a very large percentage of that waste so for me recycling does not work.

I have 4 wheelie bins emptied every 3 weeks. It doesn't even go to recycling, they just tip it in landfill
@@VMM34 I have 1small black wheelie bin for non recycled waste, (cat litter etc). 1small blue wheelie bin for everything recycled. 1standard brown wheelie bin for garden waste. 1very small black lidded bin with a smaller bin inside for food waste, eg vegetable peelings. This is for a one person household.
They get emptied alternate Fridays.
My wife took the wrong colour bin out one day and apologised to the bin men as they were present in her lateness one responded oh don’t worry I will take it, it all goes in the same place anyway , I wonder if it was just created as a side hustle for a crony 🤔🙄
