- If the good guys get in power, they’re gonna have to make a lot of decisions. And right now there seem to be two camps within the right who have very different instincts. Let's get some guidance from GK Chesterton's essay "On Mending and Ending Things" along with the famous concept of "Chesterton's Fence."

You have my permission to end the Fast and Furious franchise.
Chesterton, Rothbard and Krik in less than four minutes...thank you so much
And Vin Diesel! Vin Diesel too, right?
Right?
Nah... they cancel each other out... Sad
As usual, this channel deserves 100 times the followers that it has
I thought the exact same. Wade deserves ten times Matt Walsh's viewer base (I love Matt but Wade might be better)
I started to read Chesterson since I discovered you lastweek. Thank you so much.
As a guy who is a lightweight in intellect, Chesterton has been invaluable for me. He has such a knack for bringing out points and ideas I never would have been able to articulate well.
You will get a lot out of him, if you let him. My best to you and yours.
(By the way- some of his very best essays would be, "The Diabolist," "If I Had Only One Sermon to Preach," "The Bluff of the Big Shops," "The Twelve Men," and a few others I cannot remember. Check out his book "In Defense of Sanity." Those essays and others are well worth the reading.)
@@DaDitka Thanks so much. I started with the pamphlet, divorce versus democracy and I couldn't blink until I completed it.
You're right! He precisely articulates my heart. Thanks for the recommendations. Bless you.
Chesterton--one of the great treasures of the English language
My pastor told me a abbreviated version of this quote when I was asking as a new convert why I shouldn’t smoke weed 😂
You really do have an amazing knack for being able to distill complex arguments down to brief and humorously delivered summaries. This is a rare gift.
Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant video!!!
Wade makes the best references. His references are out of control.
L O V E the new hand Control. I used to get a little distracted. 😅
Great Vid! I discovered Chesterton years ago the proper way...by reading C.S. Lewis lol
End the Fed
Repeal the 20th century
Thank you for all you do. Its very hard not to enter an echo chamber these days. Ur veiw is always deep, cleae and well thoughtout.
Excellent content Wade. Getting to the things that really matter in a deeper and more sophisticated manner than the current political discourse. Keep it up
Good work, Wade!
Whether the fence stays up or gets torn down usually depends on whether powerful and influential people personally benefit from it.
and then there is the famous.... Schrödinger's Fence.
It's made entirely of cats, and no one wants to go near it
Like Mike was great.
"It's been a LOOOOOONG day..."

I'm a redistributor. I want to take things away from the Feds and give them to states, locals, and private institutions and persons. I suppose that's a bit of both.
Redistribution doesn't increase GDP, however. Moving money from one place to another isn't growth. We need builders.
On the flip side, while I don't like "redistribution" I do like preventing theft and restoring justice. So by all means make the Feds give back what was stolen.
@@michaellautermilch9185 I am only a redistributor of power. I would like, for example, to redistribute the power over education back to the states and localities. Same with regulation of trade within the state, conducting elections, marriage.
@michaellautermilch9185 Ah yes, GDP "line [eternally] go up."
A couple other Chesterton quotes:
“We shall never re-establish the idea of property until we re-establish small properties.”
"In short, I am lamentably lacking in that reverence for largeness, or for things on a Big Scale, which is apparently the religion of the age of Big Business. And, among other instances, I may venture to point out that this difference of opinion applies particularly to what was in the first instance, I suppose, the home and source of Big Business. There are a great many things which I really do admire about America; which I admire with much more sincerity than is common in those who merely flatter America...But I do not admire America for being big."
Ummm....the founding fathers were "revolutionaries."
Happy Birthday America... I hope you see another birthday.
Oh no, Wade didn't heed the instructions about his excessive hand movements.
Hey hey clickbait GK😍
Paraphrasing of vice and virtue I query When exactly will vice start digesting their own tail, because virtue with a religious scheme being shattered by MAGA-anity brings one to wonder what recklessness virtue invites whom GK proclaims inflicts far more damage.
FBI, Homeland,
"Ending is better than mending..."
-"Hypnopedia" propaganda suggestion repeated to the children in Huxley's Brave New World
When socialists want to keep on trying socialism.... ask them how many times have you experimented with it?
how's your capitalist experiment going? does getting cancer, or even just calling an ambulance, bankrupt working class people and force them into debt??
It can't be fixed, only replaced. Keep clinging to hope if it makes you sleep well at night
This explains why some Christians hate Harry Potter with a rage from hellfire and some read it and then move on with life
It does? I don't get it
