    My 351w has bin running on Propane for 11 years in my Rock buggy mud toy . Bin up side down 20 or so time's and under water. Still runs great .

    That's impressive! A ten year old junk yard engine that runs that well is a great find. Since I'm new to propane engines, I don't know how much to credit the propane for the performance. Near the end, it looked like you started getting water in it; with the stall (water drowned). Also, I like how quickly it restarted. I was actually sold when I went to your website, but after surfing here from it it'snow a must have. I'll have one on my cammed 350 chevy...seriously.

    just curious but what does lowering the engine into water have to do with propane?? if you ran compressed air out of that tank and gasoline through the carb it would do the exact same things.. i get your point about using propane, but really what is this video proving?? please explain..

  • @farstarfilm
    @farstarfilm 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    wow how can I do this conversion

  • @03coop21
    @03coop21 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Also, just a point of contention... Carbureted engines do not function correctly at extreme angles or steep incline/decline angles, also extreme jarring or sudden quick changes cause stalling due to air overtaking the fuel intakes on the carb. This system makes sense because of the advantages of propane being pressurized making stalling less likely. The water proofing is just a side benefit, and while it is possible to waterproof a gas system, there are far more benefits in a propane system. IMO

    fuel air mixer (as a mixer) I wonder what type of mixer you used? I have a problem I want to consult you guys ... my Pontiac car has the 455 engine, and on this engine, there is a 4-barrel Rochester QuadraJet carburetor. What should be the most suitable Fuel / Air Mixer I will use under these conditions?
    Some people have recommended the IMPCO-425 Fuel Mixer, but I never üşen before, And so I don’t know which type fuel mixer will be the best choice for my Car...
    There is so much dirty information on the internet, that you cannot be fully confident about what is right fuel mixer..
    As people who know this job very well,,
    •what would be the best mixer for my Engine and Carburetor combination, would you please help me by writing here for me??
    •and where can I buy this complete mixer kit??
    Thanks lot..

    you can do this with any typical gas setup car or truck. as long as you have a snorkel and you seal and port your distributor, the same way you did here. i love the idea of running propane, but you should probably focus more on the facts of your car/truck running cleaner, hotter and putting out more hp and torque and the fact that you can run engines thought to be long gone, almost as if they are brand new.

      Im laughing because this whole entire video makes no sense at all! Propane carburetors have been around since the 1950s, we still use them today. the only thing I see this being a test of is how good his spark plug wires and distributor cap seals

  • @shepd3
    @shepd3 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    By energy content? About 36 gallons of gasoline is equivalent to 40 gallons of propane.
    Of course, propane is a VERY high octane fuel and burns more fully, so it's a bit of a wash.

    I would like to get in touch with you by phone and or email for a project I would like to attempt to get either a moped running on propane or a vanguard v twin engine I plan to put in a cushman truckster. The moped I'm rebuilding from the ground up with a 73cc big bore kit. Its just an extra mode of transportation/ fun little project for me. So I thought I could propane it just for fun, and for a conversation starter.

    I'm sorry, why can't fuel injection run underwater? Or a carb for that matter if done right.

  • @gotpropane
    @gotpropane  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    It lets people see and hear the engine run as well as prove my claims about it bieng able to run underwater. A fuel injected setup can't do this and I'm not trying to compare to a carburetor as my customers already have their reasons for wanting to get away from a carb.

    You're not actually suggesting that a fuel injected engine can't run under water. Of course they can...and do, all the time. You did do a good job of waterproofing that distributor, but aside from that...I see nothing new here.

  • @NVMDSTEvil
    @NVMDSTEvil 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    fuel injection works fine under water provided you seal the electronics well enough. That said i'd take propane over gasoline for an offroader anyways.

      It can be done with gasoline or diesel. During WWII there were jeeps and light trucks modified to drive under water.

    Just how does this prove anything in terms of propane fuel systems over gasoline or diesel fuel?
    I guess you've never seen gasoline or diesel fueled vehicles driven UNDER WATER with air/exhaust/ignition venting above water just as you've done here.
    It's a cool enough video, but it doesn't prove anything.

      Cary Gleason right too name calling. A sure sign of intellect or lack there of.
      Running this engine under water proves nothing. Stick to the positives of propane, cleaner burning higher octane allowing more compression and more power. Noooo...
