Thank you, you saved me and my little cat. I couldn't express his bladder and had to take him to vet every day. One thing that really helped me doing it, was one sentence "don't be afraid it's not painful it's just uncomfortable" That really helped me put enough pressure for doing it right.

Thank you for the very clear and well-explained demonstration. I have a German Shepherd who has been paralyzed from the waist back due to Degenerative Myelopathy as a result of inbreeding. I have had to express his bladder for over a year, and the way I was taught was nowhere near as clear as your video. Even after a year, I learned new things that I believe will make the procedure easier.

dear K. Lein Pondmire, my big mutt has a cyst tumor or calcification in prostate. I have had to take him in numerous times for catherization....I am trying to learn how to catherize or the vet says put him down. I desperately want to save my dogs life. He is 97 lbs kinda stout, very muscular probably a mix with pit, lab, ridgeback. Any comments or correspondence how to empty his bladder would be appreciated. Sincerely, Christine Harrer

You are a wonderful parent! Thank you for not giving up when they needed you most. My little maltipoo named Bunny just passed away at 11.5 years from a heart attack out of nowhere and I still have her brother Benny 12 years old from the same mom. It kills me that she is gone. I miss her so much! I spent thousands on getting both her ACLs replaced last year because she was my baby and 10k is worth it. I'm so sad to not have her anymore. Thank you for not putting them down. Seriously, thank you.

Thank you so much for this video! After several tests, X-rays, and an ultra sound to rule out other issues, it’s been determined that my pug’s UTIs are caused by her inability to fully empty her bladder. This makes it easier for me to ensure I’m doing it the right way and not hurting her. My vet did a demo with me, but this is great to have as a reference.

Hello Courtney My apologies if i spelled your name not correctly because English is not my first language.
Recently, my 18 year old shitzu buddy got paralyzed under his waste part and preparing his long detour.
Before i watch your video, He was screaming when he needed to urinate, but i could do nothing.
I was desperately finding ways to help him not just putting diapers on him, then I found your video and actually made it!
When he starts yelling, i give him bladder expression then he gets settled.
Thank you again for your tips and hope AMC channel is more known to people.
    God bless you.

Yooo thank y'all so much! My poor shepsky hasn't been able to pee for about 7 hours now and I tried this method.. didn't work at first but he finally got up and released some urine, it's relieved him a bit until we get a vet visit. He had been crouching over and over all morning with no release at all . I recommend doing this gently but firmly as the veterinarian states. I had no idea what I was doing but it works

Update (3 Weeks): He had to get a catheter for a couple days, and some prescription food to help to pass the blockage. After a couple weeks of meds and care, he’s back to his annoying, spoiled, needy self!
P.S. He was on a high protein diet, and started sleeping more during the winter. The vet feels that that this combination was likely the cause of the blockage.

Even if I take a pad out there. This weather is expected for the next 5 days. I’m concerned because she is prone to UTIs when this happens. After what point do you have to take the dog to the vet if they haven’t void?

I have had a video up for two years that demonstrates how to express the bowels in a paralized dog, my 3 year old Saint Bernard had a Fibrocartilagenous Embolism in the spine, an MRI showed a tiny, I mean TINY little blockage and that was all it took to cause his back legs, tail, bladder and bowels to stop functioning.
I wasn't able to express his bladder despite the vet showing me how, it just didn't work, so he continuously leaked urine, but the technique I used to prompt a bowel movement did work extremely effectively, it is good for large and giant breed dogs that cant be lifted up etc as you have in your video th-cam.com/video/irgpTAUUDMc/w-d-xo.html
