the cover for this game is a reference to Mario and luigi bowsers inside story's cover, just with luigi fast asleep, antasma instead of starlow, and a dream cloud with millions of Luigis.
I think it's fairly important to point at that due to the save button next to Luigi's head when he's dreaming, there probably aren't any save blocks in this game and you can save whenever you want.

Behind Princess Peach in the shopping area, there is another block person who appears to have a very close resemblance to Broque Madame from the DS game Bowser's Inside Story. This could indicate that there could be games that this block person would like you to perform, and if you succeed, she'll give you strong armory or weaponry depending on your performance. Similar to Broque Madame from Bowser's Inside Story.
Considering that the purple pillow is faded when we see Luigi sleeping on, perhaps the plain white pillow we see him on is actually the pink one, just faded - or perhaps turned to stone. If the pillow people are turned to stone, it stands to reason that their correlating pillows could be too, right? Perhaps saving the pillow person restores their respective pillow, which could also explain why the red one wasn't faded, whereas the purple one was.

at 3:46 you see sunlight but the statue and bee both look sleepy, i think this is connected to the pillow people or dream land thing. that being that the creatures are having nightmares and cant sleep, this makes them agitated and agressive, this may be why they are attacking you though he looks week and tired and not flying
Bowser always appears as the first enemy in the Mario and Luigi games (in Peach's castle), and the Final Boss is always a variation of Bowser (Bowletta, Shrowser, Dark Bowser). Also there's always some pieces of a Star to collect like the Bean Star, Cobalt Star and the Star Cure. So I'm thinking you have to collect the Dream Star pieces and the Final Boss will be "Antowser".

Actually, one of the segments in the newly released Humor Trailer shows Bowser escaping by grabbing on to the bat-like creature that is supposedly Antasma, implying that they may be teamed up. Strangely, another clip shows him shocked that Princess Peach was kidnapped, claiming that "that's his job". This may imply that he is unaware that the bat creature is Antasma.
About the birds... Maybe there is a "Bird God" and there is a festival for him and they are just dressing up as him (or they're dressing up as his people and that statue is him)
Hey GameXplain! I just remembered that this wasn't the first time Peach was kidnapped during a vacation, that was in Super Mario Sunshine! But this is the first time she was kidnapped on vacation with both Mario Brothers!
Maybe the pillows are scattered across the land and you have to find them, then sleep on them to learn where the characters are, or the villain sealed them inside, making you sleep on the pillows and enter their dream world or something like that, just a theory.
I have a plot theory: Antasma a collection of negative emotions and nightmares trying to become real, the only people that can keep balance between the dream world and the real world are the pillow people, that's why Antasma turned them to stone. Because Antasma is a collection of thoughts, it might need Princess Peaches magic or need her body to get to the real world where he/she can rule.

After all, he has been in every game so far. And even if there is no relation, he still might appear in nightmare form as a secret boss, kind of like the Shroobs in Bowser's Inside Story.
Hold on, I thought the red pi'llow is Dreambert. And there really isn't 6 dream worlds, because frozen pillows are just scattered everywhere. And each pi'llows has a different power that gives you access to the next area/pi'llow to go. The pink ones open doors, the blue ones gives the bros a boost. And once you rescue a pi'llow, the frozen pillow disappears forever.
I agree. We get the epic conclusion to SPM with the narrator saying, "May we meet again in another time and place." If I knew he was referring to a stupid NSMB story, I wouldn't have even bothered getting excited for Sticker Star.
I have a DeviantART account, but what does that have to do with anything? SPM had perhaps the most memorable characters in any Mario game, right up there with Fawful. Especially Dimentio. He was the perfect villain, playing everyone behind the scenes and everything added up in the end when he reveals himself as the true villain. Then Sticker Star came along with Bowser (minus all his funny dialogue) leaping in and stealing Peach. And that's the full story. Everything else feels tacked on.
Super Mario may not be the coolest video games franchise. But when you think about it; Mario's adventures are actually epic beyond some of your wildest imaginations.

Some of those pillow people's heads seem to resemble the shape of some of the special attacks in Bowser's Inside Story. I recognised the Mighty Meteor and what looked like Spin Pipe.
Bowser can also act as a playable character like in Bowsers inside story, un knowingly helping us because he has the same goal as our heros. OR he could act like he did in Super Paper Mario for the wii, and KNOWINGLY help us because he has the same goal as us, but seeing as he looks evil in those screenshots, you might have to kick his but before he joins your team!
hold on one second I just went to the previous analysis to see if I had watched it or not and at the very beginning of the video Luigi is shown sleeping on the purple pillow and it was not faded at all.
Hi Gamexplain. I think the grey pillow Luigi is lying on is actually the red-pink pillow turned to stone or something. Just like the purple pillow is still grey when you see Luigi lying on it... Maybe The pillows get coloured when you save the respective guys??

I don't know, I personally like the background, it was good for Bowser's Inside Story and they made it work better here, especially with the emphasis on Luigi. But that might be just me...

The only thing it has in common with the other Paper Marios is the style and turn-based battles (which Super Paper Mario didn't have, but still managed to be awesome). Did I forget to mention that nearly all the enemy designs in Sticker Star have been "modernized"(NSMB-ized) so that they no longer feel like Paper Mario enemies. They tried to turn it into "New Paper Mario Bros." and failed.

She doesn't JUST look like Cackletta. Those clothes look like Fawfuls, and her general Color Scheme looks like the Dark Star. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some sort of similarity to the Elder Shroob as well that I'm not catching.

Actually there were in both SuperStar Saga and in Partners in Time, Bowser's Inside Story is the only one that didn't have Yoshis.

The reason why the first pillow is grey is because the pillow characters are turned to stone, the first one shown is probably the two button one.

I thought that you might be able to use different pillows for different powers, like the one with the up arrow maybe reversing gravity, etc.
