It's rare for me to feel like commenting, but I just wanted to say GameXplain, you guys are doing an amazing job with this channel. I love how you guys actually comment and reply to your fans, and it's that personal touch that makes your channel so great, and it's that same personal touch a lot of gaming channels take for granted. another interesting thing to note is it seems gogoat may have a prevolution, in one of the screenshots released on the pokemon x and y website, the shot shows the trainer standing in lumiose city but if you take a closer look at the picture there are two pokemon in the background that when zoomed in on appear to be small gogoats and a possible prevolution, meaning they may have involuntarily shown us a new pokemon
7:13 I can also point out that the gym for that town might not be water or fairy, but a ground type gym instead. In generations 4 and 5, mines were usually near towns with a ground type gym, and on the map this specific town is near a set of mines, so maybe that town is home to a ground type gym.
If you'd look at the Route 3 clip, you'd notice a small lake to the left. If you look at the map, you'd see a lake to the left after you exit the forest indicating that that is indeed route 3 and you are traveling north to start the game. Also the road zig zags to the left before reaching the town which is also shown on the map.

The skating shoes might be the running shoes of the generation, and looking at the trailer you can see the trainers sprinting,so the skating shoes might be used to travel across special points in the adventure like rails you can walk on. and gogoat might be the new bike or you can rent a car looking at how many cars you can see in the trailers.

I think the idea of the wristband item being some sort of physical modifier makes sense, since in the last one it looked like it had a DNA double helix on it, and also a new Mewtwo form would almost definitely have to be from some sort of genetic experiments
All these ideas and speculations are getting me more hyped by the day.

@GameXplain Here's two things that you missed, one thing from the first trailer, when you see the trainer running through the forest before it gets to pikachu, the girl behind him looks A LOT like the girl from black2/white2 right down to the hair buns. And the other thing is the artwork for the characters shows the black armband on them, and if you look closer, the circle on it shows a DNA strand symbol that is on the japanese boxart.
I just had another look on the pokemon x & y website and saw something that would tell me that the place at the bottom of the map most likely is not the town you start your game in. If you look at a picture that is of the female trainer in that place you can see a hiker standing behind her. Please tell me if I am wrong but there is not normally a hiker that close or even in the starting town is there?
Speculation says you can. The clouds and mountains on the top of the Unovan region map match up with the ones on the bottom of Kalos region map. Someone on /vp/ actually figured this out a while back.

on the left side of the map it looks like a deck of cards so maybe that is where the gym with the flying walls is,where u get the move that sylvion has with the flying cards or just where u get sylvion in general and that move is like a special move only to sylvion but thats what i think

I have a small theory about the benches.
The fact that you can play using a control stick instead of the D-pad on 3DS games means that you may be able to move at different speeds based on how far you push the stick. My guess is that they are going to implement a stamina meter for your character. You can sit on benches to recover stamina, or use other means of transportation to reduce the amount of stamina you use up.

[Cont...] Another of the Pleiad sisters is Sterope, whose name translates to `lightning', `twinkling', `sun-face', `stubborn-face' (Indo-European ster-, `star', `stellar', `asterisk'). She has a possible alternate name, Asterië which means`of the starry sky' or `of the sun.' All of these are similar to Sylveon and are also nymphs, which puts it within the realm of possibility for the Japanese. Nymphs are similar to fairies, fitting in with the fee of the German name. I think it's light type.
The screenshot of each starter at lvl 5 included not only tackle/scratch and growl/tail whip, but also includes an elemental attack.

In animal crossing, you could sit on benches in multiplayer to sit with your friends, so x and y might have that stronger multiplayer style, like in 4th gen with the under ground place where you can meet your friends, but in x and y, you actually can go through he region with someone else, which is good for the small character customization so you can tell other people apart slightly
about that pink building you think is a gym? I personally think it is the location of where you can evolve Eevee into sylveon, kind of like how you evolved Magneton into magnezone and/or Nosepass into Probopass, my reasoning behind this is because the colors of that crystal structure are similar to sylveon's colors, just a thought

There's always the possibility that the alternative modes of travel are like the bike or ferries in past games: useful early on, but eventually replaced by HMs as you become a more powerful trainer and have visited that area already.
Could conditioning your Pokemon be back since on the stat screen there is a blue pentagon that resembles the conditioning pentagon from gen 3 and 4.
You guys brought up that we are still moving on a grid. What if there is a option to choose between the d-pad and circle pad? Maybe that determines if you move freely or you are stuck on moving on a grid.
The bracelete on the trainers, reminds me of the Log Pose of OP. More likely is related to the map or other pokémon related things, like past games. Could work as compass or generate an hologram map of the region or comunicator, who knows...
something I noticed early on(when this info was new) was that if you look at 4:36 you see a trainer who is black, but looks like your normal NPCs. being black, he's ether a trainer type that is exclusively black(like the dancers from B/W) or, there are more than one color for each NPC(which would be AWESOME) now, also looking at 7:33, I have to wonder if, if the latter is true and they're all different, will that scene match?
who knows, but I hope it's the latter. ether way, it's still awesome.
That makes perfect sense, seeing as how the Pokemon contests are gonna be more prominent this time around.
the new pokemon x and y logo has a DNA symbol along with the new design. It would explain why Symacore is studying pokemon like that. We could also be looking at a new breed mechanic (which is a strong possibility) that you get to mix pokemon but only of the same egg group Symacore could have given you a task to mix as many pokemon as you can; to help complete his research. Im not sure about the new evolution mechanic though. Any ideas?
1:22 Don't you think it's odd that the tree in the map is autumn-themed (with yellow/brown leaves) while in the trailer it is green? Is it really the same place?
Just some minor details. It is stated in pokemonxy. com that you come across some accessories and clothes in your journey which means that character customization is a big GO besides other things like changing skin tone, hair color etc.
Since the region is now definitely based on france, do you think we will finally be able to run from trainer battles?
Maybe you can use a pickaxe or a hammer to bust small rocks like you do in the underground. As well as that, maybe you can use something so powerful, you can go up waterfalls. If there are HMs, there could be 6, 7, 8, or 9. Maybe you will have acsess to all the HMs. There could (key word could) be over 100 TMs.Eventually there will be new moves. And into the fairy/water gym, maybe the gym leader's main pokemon is Corsola.
At 8:17 if you pause you can see a guy with a disguise that some detectives wear he might be the 6th generation looker so when you walk diagonally maybe he stops you and asks for any clues about the new teams also awesome video by the way
The place you initially thought was the starting location, I believe its the start and has a gym like in black and white 2. The outline is shaped like the region so I believe that means something
If you look at one of the screenshots on the Pokemon site, you can see in one of them what looks like some miniature Gogoats. I'm pretty sure from that that Gogoat is an evolved Pokemon.
Look at the map, at the very edge on the snowy mountain thing it looks like more land, so that might give a hint of another pokemon game coming out right beside the kalos.
3:13 in the middle it shows a big 5, that might be route 5. so that might be the next place you go after the beginning?
To add to Sylveon, I have some evidence to state it being a bug type.
The name in Japanese "Nynphia" and the French name "Nymphali" could well be based on "Nymphalidae" A type of butterfly. It should also be noted that Sylveon's Bows look like butterflies.
Also, Something that really surprised me, is Sylveon's eyes are far different from Eevee's other evolutions, Which all have the same eyes, only occasionally recolored. I believe Sylveon's eyes are large because they are to be bug-like eyes.
Andrè (I think thats how you spell it), I think I figured out what Sylveons type is. Sylv in Sylveon sounds like Silver. Steel is a certain kind of silver so 1of her types could be steel. Concidering Sylveon is a white pokemon which is slightly brighter than gray
Not much of a big detail, but, Sylvion looks like they would only be Flying or perhaps a new Fairy type. It doesn't look very much like it could be steel as most steel Pokemon are made of and/or resemble steel. It seems that most Poison Pokemon also have a specific look, it seems like a lot of the Poison types have purple in their design, perhaps because the most common color for poison is purple. And then Flying types seem to always have some sort of light color and Sylvion is pink and white.
When you ponted out the zigzagoon in the pokedex I saw that the pokemon in the pokedex looks pink with bug-like eyes so this could be the bug-type pokemon you get early in the game.
GameXplain, remember those "pre-evolved" forms of Gogoat we caught sight of in Lumiose City, sitting next to a building? I think I might know what that building is. Do you think that's where you hire the Gogoat for a ride? I don't know. Just a guess.
well the "coral" looking rock could very well react like the forest or snow places in the 4th gen where you'd take your Eevee to lv up and it'd evole in to leafeon or glaceon. That would make a bit of sense however the island in the upper left hand corner would be a better fit as its a island (surounded by water) also if you look in the upper right hand corner it looks like snow. so we could see a ice type gym. The snow may also react like in 4th gen. then there a cave (for a legendary?)
When you first receive your pokemon you have a battle with your rival, the battle scene with the starter pokemon is in a grassy area, this means the starting town is not the north town, because the video would show orange trees in the background. This could mean the south- east town may be the starting town
The building with the Roselia could perhaps be a grass-type gym since there's a lot of flowers and grass in the area around it.
In my opinion, I think what you thought to be route three would actually be route 2 because if you go on the pokemon web site, you notice a screen shot that has a route 2 sign with a pond to the right which whould fit right where we thought route three would be.
I also think that the grid based running will still be intact but more free not only because the diagonal running but in the city there are trees in the middle of the street so you must be able to run around the trees.
Last time, Eevee and Mew are both Gentetics and look they both have new evoulition and forms. Also in the pics you see Helioptile and Pandacham as level 20 so u could get them like close to the 2nd or 3rd gym. If i send another post it will be a video.
That's true, but at the same time, I think of Johto being a more direct sequel to the first Kanto games, maybe even an expansion pack completing the game. They added new types, pokemon that were originally meant to be there, and many other things. The closest thing to this is B&W2... but that took place in the same region, so you know.
7:13 I don't think that's a building at all, I think it might be a fairy rock to evolve Eevee. Like in previous games there was the moss rock and ice rock to evolve eevee to Leafeon or Glaceon respectively. The map supports more that it's not a building because it's off land and in water, with no bridge inbetween.
i believe the theory of the southern town being the start makes sense. because the only number we see in lumios is 5. route 5 might be at the southern end of the city connecting the southern towns to the city.
im kinda supprised there isnt an amusmend park on the map because its france and you disney world just a tought also i think if there are hms defog i think is comfirmed because that big misty mountain in the top right side corner which midht be a mountain that you go to after the elite four like mount silver
Also, there is a video that shows scenes in a level where you are Hulk, Iron Man, and Spiderman and there are two bosses: Sandman (from Spiderman) and Abomination (I don't know where from). I don't think there is enough for an analysis yet, but when more is revealed it would be amazing if you could do one. This game is going to be the best Lego game yet!
what if that pink building isnt a gym but a place where you find one of the legendaries since that has not yet been looked at. it is asumed that one of the legendaries will be a "fairie type" if they make one. if so it would be a great spot to locate one seeing as it is just of a citie and yet in a descrrete location somewhere in the water (like how we found lugia)
Maybe the Coffe shop is for a new kind of pokemons coffe? You know like Milktanks MooMoo Milk. The area right next to the wind work thingy looks like it could be some kind of spaceship? If not it could perhaps be an oil derrick since it's kinda close to the water. And also if you look at the town just next to the pink mysterious building there's something like a highway wich looks like it goes straight into the mountain.
I still stand by the fact that the bridge on the right of the map is VERY unusual. It looks too ornate for a bridge that seems to lead to nowhere, and one end appears to disappear under the ground, so I believe it to be an underground railway and railway bridge from Lumiose (sp?) city to the outskirts, fitting with the idea that HM's may not be included.
I hope sitting on benches work similar to the way sitting works in skyward sword, in which sitting would allow a player to gain some hp to their pokemon, hopefully not full health and probably be used once per route use, so you would have to go to another route or town and come back to use the bench again
I think i found out something else. At about 0:18 in your video, or the scene when she goes by the taxi, i saw something. Right before it switches to the other scene, it shows a black building with a star on it. This look like you can enter it. This could have something to do with film making. So possibly taking part in a movie is coming back like it was in pokemon black and white too! ^_^ hope you see this
If this fairy type comes, I won't mind too much I guess.... but won't there be previous gen Pokémon that qualify for it (ex. Clefairy,etc.)?
That'd be way cool! But I think it's unlikely, it would take a lot of work to pull off like you said. Plus the gametrailers, theoretically, would be applicable to both sets of games, and the new one suggests that one town in particular was the beginning town.
Mind = blown! I don't get how you guys find al these suggestions in the smallest details through out the trailer, especially when you were talking about the small bird's evolutions because of the screenshot you had from the pokédex!! :O
I like fan ideas, its cool to see fans analysis things.
oh and another thing i think there might some sort of gogoat stop like a bustop for gogoat something like that, it shows a sign with a gogoat at the top in a wallpaper pic and the website
I don't think that pink building is a water gym. There is a port city with a ship wheel on it on the map, which I think holds the water gym.
If the pink building is not a fairy gym, it may be a normal gym, as the interior of Whitney's gym in HGSS had a very cute and pink vibe.
Also, I wanna try and disprove the fact that the clock tree is the grass gym earlier, as the tree gym has green leaves, while the clock tree has orange ones.

That town that some people thought was the starting town is the starting is. Its on serebii but there will 4 people or "rivals" that you will interact with throughout the game. it just so happens that there are 5 doors for you and your friends. Also when you look at the snapshot of the starting town if that autumn looking place was the starting town why are the leaves green.
Hey in the Gogoat footage in the bottom right their is another sign that, in my split second of looking at it, looks like it has Gogoat on it, this could support the "Rent-A-Gogoat" theory.
Got to home from work to find this, day is definitely made. And Sylveon is such a mystery!
the new Eevee evolution is more so a fairy than a flying type. If you look at the other evolutions, there type has usually changes their body structure not just their colour. I.e. vaporeon has a fish-like tail, flareon's hair resembles flames, and leafeon has leaf like fur all over it. So if sylveon was a flying type, I'd say it would have wings. Plus, flying types are usually accompanied by another type, i.e. normal-flying, etc.
Perhaps the fashion-like building is a clothing store? If it were a contest, it would at least show a Pokemon. Also, if you pause the video right before the screen changes, the screen was blue, meaning that there could be also male clothing there. Lastly, outfits have already been proven, so there is a chance this is probably correct.
Maybe it's a fairy type or psychic type event area but I doubt it's like a 'fairy rock'. They seem to have a theme with eeveelutions throughout each generation.

The illustrated picture on pkm homepage - of trainer riding Gogoat in Lumiose city - if you look closer, at the bottom left corner there is a sign, that looks like bus stop sign, but instead of bus, there is picture of Gogoat. So, my guess is - we will be using them to get around the city, not riding our caught ones.
If you look at the water stream it looks like you can use the water to go any place but the iced through water and stone area could be where you get the unknown Pokemon and the X and Y Pokemon could be a type of unknown Pokemon and the benches could be as a healing spot just like the beds in the last Pokemon games and for the Ice maby you can use iceskate's just like rollerskate's in the videos and the cave by the ocean can be where you get a legendary Pokemon like in gold and silver .
ok so i noticed an interesting lil detail not from the video but from a piece of concept art thats in the wall paper section of the official site. in the blue wall paper there it shows the trainer riding go goat but theres also a sign in it with a depiction of a gogoat on the top of it so maybe those signs are how you board a gogoat. just a theory.
Hey do you remember that cafe the girl trainer looked at maybe that coulbe where trainers could get pokeblocks that made in appearance in gen 3
take a look at the east south snowy looking town right be it is a bridge that leads off the map, this means we have only seen half of Kalos so far, maybe there will be eight more gyms after the elite four.
when you sit on the benches in the trailer,there is a pokemon gym up near the fountain and sylveon use many attack in the old trailer so it might be multitype or all the eevee evolution all together:)
You have a point. And, out of every eeveelution I have, along with my original eevee itself, only 1 is female. There are 31 out of 649 gender specific Pokemon. Nidoran(Male)+evolutions, Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, Hitmontop, Tauros, Volbeet, Sawk, Mothim, Throu, Mothim, Rufflet, Braviary, and Gallade are all male. While Nidoran(Female)+evolutions, Chansey, Blissy, Jynx, Khangaskhan, Illumise, Petilil, Lilligant, Vespiquen, Froslass, Milktank, Wormadam, Vullaby, and Mandibuzz are exclusively female.
Also, since chespin can learn rollout, he may be a grass/rock type. Or, it could be grass and another physical attacking type.
That is likely due to still being in development. Those aesthetics would be added much later in the game as it isn't as important as making sure all the gyms are in place or all the pokemon work
In the unreleased short, It's shown near flowers which if it is bug type it is probably pollinating them.
Theory
I'm Thinking that Sylveon might be a Light or Fairy Type(New Type) because of what GX said in the previous video. I also think that Xerneas will be the same type because: 1) i think won't add more than 1 type. 2) Xerneas lives in a forest and fairy stories typically talk about forest fairies also the strange light thing on his antlers may resemble the magical abilities of a fairy

If you look closer to the black watch that the characters have, in the crystall ball there is the symbol of an adn or dna (look it in hd), like the japanese logo of the game!
I think Sylveon is a Flying type. In Generation V, there was a Flying-type Gym leader named Skyla who had pink hair, like Sylveon. Also, in the upcoming Pokemon movie's short, in which Sylveon is the main character, it seems to take place in the sky.
I think the fire type gym is that one castle on the mountains that looks like it has fire on it and the place where you thought was the fire gym might be the elite four and the mountain will be victory road and to prove this even more the elite four in every pokemon generation is at the far left or the far right

i found more evidence that could decide if the city to the south is the starting city. if you look closely, there appears to be a path from the fountain city to what you believed to be the entrance to victory road. but the path to victory road has only been present close to the start of the game in the kanto region
I think that there is still free roaming, when that one guy said that the trainer is perfectly parallel to the 5th entrance, maybe the person who was playing the trailer at the time was using the d-pad instead of the circle-pad. And when you make a complete 90 degree turn, the player probably pressed the L or R buttons., and with the sylveon thing, the new fairy type was confirmed yesterday
What if Lumios City is the home town, and serves as a central city for the Kalos region, just like Toad Town in Paper Mario 64? It would make the mountains in the Route 3 picture a lot more logical as you'd be facing the other way.
Don't worry too much about it, all my videos default to 144p when I load up a video even though my internet is fully capable of loading 720p and over. Just change the quality with the gear and hope TH-cam changes it soon. :(
I think it is route 3 as on the map it shows the path from the forest to the town turning before the town and in game fotage the path is turnning before the town
