Great video! The MAJOR part though is hormones. Do you use HRT? Are you menopausal? Because it's only when a woman enters menopause the aging REALLY hits hard 😞 So I think it's very important to know a reviewer's HRT status when talking about what worked and what didn't work when it comes to products.
That is a good point. I’m menopausal but not formally on HRT so that’s a bit complicated to get into in a skincare video. I have a mirena coil and intend to start low-dose estrogen soon. If I notice any difference to my skin I’ll do something around that.
Borax, about 1/4 to 1/2 tsp a day has helped dramatically with night sweats / hot flashes! (According to periodic table, it is less toxic than salt, so no worries). Also lots of animal fat/protein.@@thehonestchannel
I had my mirena coil removed 6 years ago at age 52. I’ve definitely noticed a difference in my skin tightness and my facial form since then. Having had great skin all my life and done little to prolong it I’ve really upped my skincare game in the last couple of years and am very happy with the results so far. I’ve just invested in the Theraface microcurrent , massage and light therapy device so I’m excited to see if it makes any difference on my jowls and marionette lines which I feel are my biggest problem now.
You seem like such a kind and genuine woman and it’s awesome of you to share your skin care knowledge with us. I’m 43 and am starting to notice signs of aging and so I want to really improve my skincare game so I appreciate all your tips and tricks. Thank you so much for helping us to age well.
I've said it recently and I'll say it again Clare, your skin is looking incredible, and I can honestly see the changes over the last year for definite. Love the simplicity of your routine and the products you are using. Thank you once again for the advice, research, and time you put into helping a nation of skin care junkies (and thanks to your other half for his excellent editing skills). Can't wait for the Filler update x
✨❤️I did the same! After 25 years of Tretinoin and going through to menopause, I decided to be nicer to my skin…and now it loves me back! ❤️✨Now I use HRT and Retinal, and the serums you’ve mentioned ❤️✨
I have watched this video maybe three times already, and now I am watching it again and taking notes. I am pleasantly surprised that your AM and PM skincare routines are so minimal. When I traveled abroad in Europe for a month in September - October, I brought just a few products - 2Sol Recovery Booster instead of a vitamin C serum. It has niacinamide and a vitamin C derivative. I chose not to bring a serum with ascorbic acid on the trip because it can be a bit harsh on my skin. I also used No7 Future Renew Serum, which I bought upon your recommendation - thank you. In addition to that, I used SPF cream, tretinoin every other or third night, Dr. Galatok Galatokside Serum with peptides, and Galatokside Peptide Barrier Cream. My skin was so happy and healthy after my trip. Upon returning, as I looked at my skin, I realized that I shouldn't force myself to layer more than three products, especially since I dislike it. That's why I have so many products close to their expiration date. I should focus on using a minimum of effective products for my skin type and age. I appreciate you sharing your routine; it works so well for you, your skin is glowing ❣
Great video! At 57 I'm quite happy with my skin. I feel that the two most important anti ageing treatments are Tretinoin (been using since I was 49) and sunscreen. I have been living in SE Asia for almost 30 years and after only a few weeks here I realised diligent use of high protection sunscreen is a must for my fair, easy to burn skin! I enjoy skincare products very much so I do love dabbling with other products including peptides. My skin is sensitive to pure Vitamin C but I enjoy using derivatives. I also have slight rosacea so I include azelaic acid and tranexamic acid :). Enjoying your channel and nice to see it steadily growing. Your skin is lovely BTW!
Love your channel and I’m going order the sunscreen. I do use prescription tretinon each night and I’ve had nothing but success using .05. I use a moisturizer first than apply it. I would suggest you invest in a red light panel. I have the MitoRed brand body panel and it’s amazing. I don’t suggest a mask because the panel is beneficial for all parts of the body. You are amazing. Keep up the great work and I enjoy watching all of your videos ❤
Interesting that you found the greatest improvement from Adipeau in the first three months. I used it for about five and a half months without seeing any improvement anywhere except my lips and was ready to quit when I finished the bottle I was working on when I finally started to see an increase in my cheek fullness. I had shallow cheek hollows and some skin sagging, partly from general aging, I think (I just turned 71), and partly from weight loss over the previous two or three years. My right cheek especially improved over the next five or six months, and I'm now trying to figure out a maintenance routine. Since I'm writing, I also want to commend you for focusing on a simple, gentle routine that makes your skin look and feel healthy. Some of the things I read from younger women in particular make me wonder if they aren't overdoing it a bit.
Thanks for sharing your experience with Adipeau - it's always interesting to hear of people's varying results with this product. I agree, I think it's really easy to overdo skincare (i've done it myself) and actually negatively affect your skin's health.
Great video. I’m 59 and just began incorporating a FOREO Bear mini (on only the second intensity setting) plus a solawave red light therapy wand to spot treat and I’m seeing good results from both. I have very sensitive, pale skin with tons of sun damage (#70’sChild) so I can’t use Vit C or strong retinoids. I use Luna Oil twice a week to get some retinol. I also use collagen powder in my smoothies and am about to purchase a hyaluronic acid supplement so I’ll try your rec. I exercise and eat well which helps. I always use sunscreen now, too. I look forward to your next video on hooded eyelids.
REALLY enjoyed this video, Clare - you are looking fabulous. Thanks for sharing what you're using and I agree with you on being conservative with devices. Look forward to the filming of hyaluronic acid around the eyes. Hope it goes well and gives the effect you're looking for - don't think you need it, but we all zoom in on our 'supposed' imperfections 🙂
Wow we have so much similar routine, including supplements. There’s Codeage collagen powder on the video (which I’m using too, I also take their hair/skin vitamins), not Donotage as written in the description. I’m 51. I want to get temple filler too. Can’t wait for your video about it.
my favorite devices: LPG wellbox, Tripollar stop, mixed with some micro current devices (ZIIP or what i'm using now, feipushi), with an occassional dermabrasion using trophyskin once a month. My skin care products: nothing fixed but tons of organic oils, butters, and serums and lots of hydration as i live in desert climate. i get lots of compliments on my skin :)
I just wanted to mention that the Number 7 serum product you did a show on, has arrived in the US. I have to order it on my next US Amazon order and have it shipped through our broker in San Diego, CA to get it to our boat which is currently on the Pacific Coast of Mexico (Barra de Navidad). Thank you so much for telling us Americans that it would arrive at some point. ❤️
Thank you I’ve been hoping you would do this video ❤ I’ve started the red light for a few mins every day and see a difference after a week. I want to get the ziip too. I’ve not tried retinol yet I’ve been using bakuchia oil which is meant to be a natural alternative and also rose hip, which I love. I found a love spf called beauty by joseon which has a probiotic in. It’s a lovely base for makeup and has a nice finish. Love your videos
My keep both 0.025% and 0.05% (rx)Tretinoin on hand. When I take a break before a microneedling or dermabrasion procédure, I re-start tret on thé 0.025% and work back up to the 0.05%
I'm 35 and my routine is: salicylic acid wash; the Ordinary eye EGCG serum 5% caffeine; the Ordinary copper peptides; sunscreen. Evening: salicylic acid wash; the Ordinary caffeine serum again; tretinoin 0.05%. On top of that, I supplement with collagen in my coffee and use LED mask daily. Planning to get UltracelQ+ and Pelleve in a month's time to avoid fillers. I've had HArmonyCA filler done but it didn't work to lift my deep nasolabial folds so won't be going near it again. We'll see how it pans out; my biggest concern is skin laxity and volume. I'm planning to look into the Calecim and Adipeau ranges.
I enjoy your videos and am always looking for ways to undo the skin damage I've accumulated over the last 70 years. But, I suffer from dry eye disease, meibomian gland dysfunction, and ocular rosacea, so I keep a banned ingredient list while I watch videos on skin care products. I notice that in many of the products that have helped you, contain the ingredient Phenoxyethanol which is thought to harm the meibomain glands. I wish an eye disease specialist, an estetician, and a dermatologist would collaborate to produce skin care videos for older people who want to look as good as they can while not harming their precious eyes. Thank you for your educational videos.
That is a really interesting point because I also suffer from dry eyes and there's always the chance that retinoids and other ingredients don't help or can even make it worse. I have to say though that since my optometrist recommended I use Omega 3 supplements it has improved a lot.
I follow your channel and enjoy your journalistic style. It's always informative. Your skin looks healthy and vibrant and the improvement from your treatments are clearly visble. Thanks for the great info.
Hi Claire, just found you from Perthshire here. What a breath of fresh air you are. It’s all so confusing and so far, I have done a binge on many of your videos. I’ve been using the medik8 products, but decided I just can’t afford to keep doing this. I was so pleased to see that you are using the Geek and Gorgeous Retinal. I didn’t know there was someone else producing retinal. So I have just ordered it. Thanks for all you do, absolutely invaluable. X
Thank you! The good news is most of what I use is picked up in the grocery store/supermarket! I've listed most of it in this 'ShopMy' collection shopmy.us/collections/254061
Your skin is looking great Clare! It glows! Thank you for the videos and your honesty about various products. I ordered some of these products to try and shared the video with my Mom as well.
Its possible being a Scot your skin might be more sensitive to heat etc. I live south of the border, im not sure the US influencer mantra of spf 50 is needed here. For day to day in winter i use Spf 15. Spf 30 in summmer. I'd love to know what the uk dermatology folks think of this. If i do go on the beach or walk outdoors for a while i use spf 15. Claire dermaticas new vit c is very good.
My skin doesn't burn easily but I wear the sunscreen to prevent photoaging which more or less accounts for about 90% of damage to our skin. I only apply it in the mornings in the colder, darker months though so in reality it will wear off but it protects me on my longer morning walks and drives. For skin cancer prevention I've linked to the advice from Cancer Research in the UK - and thanks for the Dermatica tip! www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/causes-of-cancer/sun-uv-and-cancer/sun-safety
Thank you. Claire for sharing your skin routine. You re radiant! I m 80 and consistently researching good skincare products. Currently on the One Skin and have noticed positive changes to certain lines on my face. I use. Korean 20% c serum and apple stem cell cream. Haven’t been on it long enough to see how it’s doing. I use AHA every other night and the vasoline the other nite. I use water to wash my face in morning and neutrogena oil and a Korean rice cleanser at night . Sunscreen of course. being an outdoors person my entire life, Exfoliate twice a week with Tatcha and use a mask afterwards. Have you heard of MediLift? I’m wondering about their skin cream. Thanks! PS I like the Ordinary peptide which helps to keep moisture in my skin along with hyaluronic during the day. I have a hand held red light the masks are too expensive for me. One more thing is exercise and healthy foods, certain supplements, bamboo, d and k, colostrum, collagen, the cake um cream is not it in budget, however,
I dabbed organic olive oil on my face last night especially around sides of mouth i can see plumper skin already il be keeping it up and telling you in one months time how its going 😉
I got HA filler at the temples and loved it, but it doesn’t last with me. I repeated several times and every time it dissipated much too soon. If they could develop a product that lasts longer I would do it again, but it’s too costly otherwise. I hope your experience is different. I know many people get it and it works for them. Great video, thank you!
Your looking great your skin is glowing. Do you use G&G retinol on your neck, im still on the Tretinoan train but definitely can't use it on my neck xxx
I’ve been using it for 2 years on face neck and around the eyes with no issues at all. You could start with the strength 5 and work your way up to strength 10 if you have sensitive skin. I went directly for the 10 since my skin is not sensitive and I’ve been wearing it also through summers with huge sun exposure (I live on a Greek island) with no issues at all. Of course in the morning I use sunscreen all year around over the G&G vitamin C serum. By the way, I’m 59. I hope this helped 😊
You look great, Claire! I'm interested in the clinical procedures, the derm I'm seeing has a Tixel machine so I will probably try that in the near future, the results from her photos seem great and apparently there's almost no downtime...
My eyes were quite swollen for two to three days after Tixel but my eyes swell up at the drop of a hat! Let me know how you get on if you do decide to try it.
Hi Claire! Three questions please: 1) how do you combine retinal and calecim please?? Which one goes first ? 2) do you also use the calecim serum?? 3) do you use Calecim also around eyes and eyelids?? Thanks!! I am getting the calecim.
Hi. I use Calecim as a moisturizer, so I apply retinal first two to three nights a week. I use Calecim all over the face. Later last year I had a pro microneedling treatment which used the Calecim serum and since then I’ve done a couple myself using the serum at home. It’s hard to say how big a difference it makes but I am a big fan of the multiaction cream. It really calms and balances my skin.
Great! Thank you so much for your reply! I think on the calecim website it says you can also use a moisturizer after if you want, correct? And Looks like we don’t need a separate eye cream if we can use Calecim all over the face, although they also have got their own eye cream. Please do let us know whether you manage to see a difference if you keep using it!
Hi Clare! I love your videos and the analysis, and I especially appreciate that we have a similar approach to being gentle with our skin. I just wanted to let you know that I bought the Zip Halo, but the discount was only 10%. Just in case you wanted to know…
So glad you enjoy the videos and take a similar approach. Thanks for flagging the discount discrepancy. I will update that info in the description now - apologies!
Tixel results on eyelids are good. Do you have a video on how Tixel works? Is it heat? Lasers? What is the mechanism? Would you use it on your whole face?
Have you tried gin ambers dermarollers! They are real needles. Gin ambers are the best. She sells stamps and rollers and a also a pen. I have so many results from her rollers.
I’d like to try “micro-coning”, in which hollow needles remove tiny cones of tissue from your face and neck, causing the skin to tighten as it heals! it does require three treatments, though. I simply can’t afford a face lift here in Silicon Valley, California-that would require much too much money ($100,000+) and not even treat the neck or eyelids. So far, I’ve tried four rounds of ablative lasers, without results, as well as three rounds of fillers (both Juvenesse and Rejuvaderm), also without results. In 2010 I had an eyelid lift, and the fat removed was transferred under my eyes to fill the hollows. I had a forehead lift along with the eyelid lift, but it only lasted eighteen months before my brows were back to their pre-surgery levels and the lines re-appeared on my forehead. The Botox the surgeon used right before the forehead lift never took effect (perhaps due to the fact that the skin is so thin there?), and the follow-up injection three months later had no effect later. I have used red light masks for eyes, face, neck, chest and hands for over two years, as well as tretinoin and reviv daily for the last three years.
Hi Claire, just wondering if you have further information/videos about the potential issues with chemical sunscreens? I have sensitive skin with acne and rosacea and I’ve found that La Roche Possay sunscreen (chemical) works for me
Hi. Yes, I did this interview with a dermatologist on sunscreen safety which you may find helpful th-cam.com/video/IDFcE5brSVI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=m5pAkeYjg646ez56
Claire, your videos are so clear and to the point. I'm very curious about your choice not to use Maysama's Urchin because I replaced my NuFace mini with it after the interview with Bev Sanderson. I already have 3 kinds of red light masks, so I bought it for the sonic cleansing, sonic massage and the type of current it uses. I would greatly appreciate your take on this, especially since you use the Ziip. Thank you so much!
Thanks firstly for your kind words about my videos! I think Bev is terrific and I love what she's doing with her devices by making them multifunctional. I've just swapped my face mask to start using her brand new LED panel with an option to use it on pulsating light mode so I'll be really interested to see how that works out. I think the Urchin is a great device - especially if you're using it for cleansing too. I've given to my mum to try, so it's not that I don't want to use it, but it's totally new to the market so I wouldn't have had the chance to test it out long enough to talk about it in this video. I love the ZIIP because it's very gentle and includes micro and nanocurrent. Hope that helps.
I mentioned in my last update on it back in March that I’d stopped using it, not because I didn’t like it but because I felt my results peaked in the first 3 months.
@@thehonestchannel I wasn’t sure if that was why you didn’t mention it. I’m sure you know Claudia of Claudia Glows here in YT. She told me yesterday that the adipeau owner used her photo without her consent to make false claims, so I won’t be giving him any of my money.
ADIPEAU is very good…it really improved my lip lines & plumped my lips….. i’ve been using it for four months now and my under eye hollows are still there, but they are a little better………
Hi I’ve just discovered your Chanel and im so pleased i have ! Please can you tell me a alternative to your night time moisturiser as I unfortunately can’t afford the one you recommended, much appreciated
So glad you're enjoying the channel. It would be worth trying No7's Future Renew Damage Reversal Night Cream. I use the serum each morning and have interviewed the team behind the range. Their research is impressive.
Thank you for sharing this. Looking forward to your led red light therapy video. I'd really like to try the Ziip. The link says it's for the US and Canada only. Any European link?
Hi Monika. Sorry about that - I've added European options to the same link now so it should default to a local retailer. I'm not sure the discount code will apply everywhere though.
Another great video!! I am delighted that you use 3 products that I use too!!! That really makes me very happy!! I use the G and G retinal 10 and the Vit C, and I have been using the No. 7 Future renew which I think has been really impressive. Also Clare, I left a comment on another of your videos but I am not sure if you saw it .. there is an ad on youtube that you feature in for a 'facelift wand' and I was wondering if you did actually trial it and how it went, and because you dont mention it here I am not sure how impressed you were !!!!
Thank you Mairead. My heart sank when you said you saw me in an ad. I thought 'not another one'. I haven't agreed to be in an ad of any kind and haven't tried a facelift wand! I did a wee short not long ago about how there are so many deceptive ads out there using extracts of journalists and influencers talking about something completely different. There seems to be no way to stop them as they push them out for short periods to a big audience and then they're gone. It's so frustrating - and quite damaging because viewers think you're just promoting any old thing!! People tell me quite a lot that they've seen me apparently promoting something in an advert. It's horrible.
@@thehonestchannel Oh Lord Clare that's awful, I am so sorry - I hope I didn't ruin your day!!! I have been following you for so long that I thought it was a bit odd that I had never seen you review the 'wand' (it is the Rachel River's Skin Wand' BTW). In any event I ordered the new Maysama Urchin based on your fab interview with Bev. Cannot wait to try it!! It looks way more convenient than the nuface!! It is really terrible that these brands use your photo without consent - they should be done for false advertising or something. I hope there is something you can do about it? xxx
Thanks Claire. Could you please investigate into if there is possibly any type of effective facial exercises that can possibly give real results for the dreaded aged profile view? Unless I win the lottery, I can't afford any of those fancy procedures! And if I could, I'd get a "vertical lift" by Dr. Karim.
I would love to interview Dr Karim! I spotted someone really interesting on Instagram who has seen good results with facial exercises so I’ll see if I can get her on to talk to us.
hey Claire, fun video! I was wondering about the ultherapy - I guess it is not nice to lose volume in the cheeks but I wonder/ I am assuming that losing some volume just in a very lower face area (not above the line of lips) on the sides of the face should make one's face more younger looking? What do you think?:) Since when we age, our fat droops to the lower face and if ultherapy tightens that and slightly reduces it, the result should be good?:)
Yes, I felt that the fat loss under my chin with Ultherapy was most welcome! If I was having it done again I’d just stick with areas that I could afford to lose a little.
I love your videos. thankyou so much. Q: As you were on the treadmill with your light. Is the red light actually safe with your eyes open? I believed we need to protect our eyes from that light.
I talk about red light eye safety in this video here. th-cam.com/video/AIoH8I8zV50/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OVC1Y3Xadjzh4lo4 It does no harm to be cautious and close your eyes, and I think that's a sensible thing to do - I often do that when I'm on my elliptical machine. The reason CurrentBody recommend 3 mins per use and don't specify to close your eyes is that a study in which red light was used to treat myopia in children found it to be safe and effective at this duration over the three-year study.
I use both (eye mask every morning for 3 mins, mask most evenings for 5/6mins) but mainly because I feel my very hooded and dry eyes need a particular boost and I like that I can wear the eye mask on the go.
Do you have a video about HRT? For women is something strongly related with youthful appearance. I am just before menopause and I am analyzing pros and cons
Hi. I did this really interview on HRT with a doctor here in the UK. Hope you find it helpful th-cam.com/video/SlZ7UCD6G8o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=T9x-EBQKMuBwX-F1
Which of all these would best help thinning skin ? Not sure if it’s genetic but I’ve noticed my facial skin has gotten so much thinner. And I think that is not helpful at all for aging well. I am already using Tretinoin and my skin is in good condition just it’s thin . Will give some of these suggestions a try 👍🙏🏼
I'm not sure tretinoin is helpful for thinning skin but that's just a personal view. I feel the mix of gentle actives and devices I use is what helps support my volume, along with lifestyle. I also take a collagen peptide supplement as well as hyaluronic acid.
@@thehonestchannel Me too, have been taking collagen peptides as well as hyaluronic acid for the last two decades. My skin is in good shape overall just thin. Not sure if adding more fat in the diet would help as I am more on the skinny side. Did this Adipeau cream that you had in one of your videos make a visible difference or not that much ? Thank you so much for replying 🙏🏼
@@IloveCamels335 I used Adipeau for six months, starting October last year and felt it gave me a bit of a volume boost around my cheeks but not around my eyelids, temples or forehead where I really needed it. From the feedback I've received from viewers, I feel it works best for those who had lost fat quite dramatically or quickly due to sudden weight loss or energy-based treatments. I saw best results in the first 3 months th-cam.com/video/PYYRv7PgfbY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=F4hQ6s6hyEwQvXv2
Hello , thanks for the review. Could you write about the hair product that made a difference for your dad as well as the machine you use for sport as i am looking for one as i am a little tired of only riding my indoor bike
I’m facing a huge issue. I lost some weight. I started face yoga and face massages. My face has become so thin after starting all this. I guess all the lymph on the face is drained and gives such a hollow look !!! Now I’m worried about using the Ziip halo that I bought :((
Sorry to hear this. So many factors go into volume loss in the face and sometimes they can all land at once - age-related changes, hormonal changes and weightloss can compound. I haven't found using the ZIIP regularly has caused any volume issues personally and I don't think that's a common issue with this device. I'm afraid that's about as much as I can say though as we just don't have a lot of data to draw on.
I agree that the heating devises are very bad for your skin. Ultherapy causes major fat loss and sagging paper like skin. It makes your skin much worse.
I ordered the Bluelene Sunscreen & am interested in trying it, per you. Also, I've been contemplating using Calecim skin multiactiion cream, & I hope I have the same benefit as you. Clare, what is your feedback on Oneskin, because I have been using it for a while now, but I don't know if I see a difference, can you????
Hi. Did you spot this video I did a while back incorporating thoughts on OneSkin as I'd tried the eye cream? th-cam.com/video/tUpa5IiNobQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=HzTfs7-2kqK6SN5G I didn't see a major difference with the eye creams, and am not big on eye creams in general. My mum however did love the skin supplement and thought it made a difference to the texture of her skin. I get mixed reports on OneSkin and I've noticed with the peptide creams it can take quite a while to really see results. I feel my results have improved over time with Calecim but it's expensive so a lot of people may feel it's not worth keeping going without obvious results. That's why I suggest No7 as a well-evidenced lower-cost alternative.
@@thehonestchannel Thank you Clare. I have been using Neogenesis Recovery complex for some time now, & that toom, is a bit costly, so I'm willing to try the Calecim because of the results of hair growth. Thank you for clarifying your suggestion on No 7, because I did buy that but the fragrance on the cream is a bit too much for me. And I'm on the fence with One skin & have been using it for a while now, but beginning to question it.
Hi, I am looking for a LED Mask that helps with hyperpigmentation. I noticed that you mentioned the Qure Microinfusion System, but not their LED mask. Is the Evenskyn mask better?
I mentioned the EvenSkyn mask only because it's the one I happen to have and therefore use, but I would be happy to use the LED mask from Qure, Omnilux, Dr Gross or CurrentBody to name a few!
I have only been watching your videos for a few months but I’m on the same goal to improve my skin. I have only just started to take skincare seriously at 47 but cannot get into a routine in the morning as I get up get ready then it’s housework. I would like ask about red light the eye mask I have the Oder version of dr Dennis gross eye mask do I use it before or after skincare in the morning and the current body face neck and dec mask do I use those before or after skincare? Thankypu
Hi. Thanks for watching. I think the ideal is to use red light on clean skin - certainly without sunscreen and make-up. You can also use a non-oil-based antioxidant serum beforehand to try to enhance the benefits. I'm not that strict though so I use mine in the morning when I'm working out and before I shower (though my skin is clean from the night before) and after I do my skincare routine in the evening because that's when it's easiest for me to fit it in.
Hi Clare, just wanted to confirm - are you using led mask (at night) and eye mask (in the morning) every day 7 days a week? Do you take breaks? Also what was the frequency when you started with these masks?
@@thehonestchannel Thank you for a prompt reply. I'm sorry if I missed it, but I'm not sure if you mentioned panel in this video. Which panel do you use? If you would need to choose between panel and led mas, which one would you choose? Also which led mask out of these 2 you would recommend: Omnilux or Current Body?
hi Claire , because this is the honest channel, if you had to purchase just one device for skin laxity, skin overall look and possibly scars , would you go for micro current li,e =nu Face or LED device ( heard of the new LED 4 light of currentbody ) ? Thank you . Your hair is very nice , thick and not dry : what do you take or perhaps it's always been like that ...
It is the combination of red light and microcurrent that works for me. They both work differently so it's impossible to pick between them. I've been looking a little more into facial massage recently so I guess if I had to pick one I could say I'd choose red light but would make sure I kept my skin and muscles stimulated through massage.
@@thehonestchannel thank you for your detailed answer. Indeed whenever i look at before and after on red light therapy i see the difference in skin texture, and even rejuvenation... as far as micro current i fail to see the differences on before- after pics but people tend to say they see a difference , so perhaps it's cumulative, as some display a real lifting effect
This was great THANKYOU… just wondered why you didn’t invest in a red light panel instead of 2 separate gadgets (as maybe cheaper) or is there a specific reason why you chose the masks? You look fatastic and very natural ❤❤❤
It's a good question. My red light mask is an older one that I've had for a few years and just started using it very regularly within the last few months. I would happily replace it with a panel and may well do. Bev (from Maysama) is sending me her new pulsed light panel to try. I added in an eye mask specifically because I felt I wanted to concentrate more heavily around my eyes and I can wear it for just 3 mins while working out so it's more of a convenience thing : )
I have been using the Omnilux face & chest mask for about 2 years now & love it, & I recently got a Qure mask, & that is so quick & easy. Both are very good @@Phoenixrises89
It can only be categorized as SPF 21 because methylene blue is not yet recognized as a sunscreen by the FDA so it's kind of a complicated one that is more of a personal judgment call at this stage. It's explained in more detail in this video from 16:20 th-cam.com/video/USCtKUpIX8I/w-d-xo.htmlsi=hlURWnZYGTcaNMfz
What if you used it and then layered another spf on top? That way you’re getting the MB benefits, some spf (21), and then another protective layer of spf. Or just use a MB product (serum or cream) and then an adequate spf. Just thinking out loud here. It sounds like MB is best used in the am with a vitamin C product than in the evening with retinol. I need to switch to morning as I’ve been pairing it in the pm. Oh the thoughts and trials we have with nailing down the best routine.
I've been using the No 7 Future Renew for a couple of months and so far have not seen any improvements. How long does it take, in general, to see some results? Have you noticed anything by using it, Clare?
I think peptide-based serums and creams typically take up to 3 months to see any difference and what you should primarily be looking at is the condition of your skin. Is it balanced, is it well hydrated. If that's not improving over time I'd move on. I think consumers (probably quite rightly because of they hype) expect to see very visible changes with these creams and serums and the reality is it can be quite gradual and take a bit of time so that's why it's only worth sticking with them if you feel your skin is in good health with use. Hope that makes sense! The results I've achieved (even since looking at videos of me earlier this year) have been very gradual, very subtle but accumulate over time.
I have had a couple of viewers say they noticed a cast with it. Bluelene may be better placed to advise on this though. You can contact them at support@magicbluelabs.com
When you show the product can you please pause there for a second or 5, then zoom in , instead of zipping it off the screen in a flash. Would appreciate that very much. Great video and channel BTW.
It's a contentious issue this one with not enough data to support an evidence-based answer I'm afraid. Generally though the more powerful the active ingredient the greater the potential for both skin-smoothing results and also unwanted effects so that's why I go for retinal which I find is gentler on my skin while still delivering results.
I really don't know from where you get that microneedeling is helping acne or acne scars, as someone with moderate to severe scars this did 0, and for all of my friends with mild scars too. And the only thing that apparently is working and proved by trials is CO2 ablative laser, or phenol peel. P.S. O and I actually did that Fractora/Morpheus tretmant as well, so needeling with RF and CO2 fractional laser (the last one helped a but but begore pandemics and then mascne and my PCOS with gining few pounds hited, and I am on the thinner side really). And you can actually find on YT honest dermatologist admiting they got rid of this needeling devices as they didn't preform well or as they aspected on addressing both concerns- acnr scars and wrinkles. They are now looking at last for the last one for the Ellacore
There are several studies, including this one www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4509584, that point to microneedling being helpful for stimulating skin repair. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience.
Hi Claire, Im wondering how you would compare your calecim results to your mother's one skin results. Im trying to decide which one to try for my 54 yr old fat depleted, visible poors face. Thanks!
It's so difficult to compare them because we have different skin types and are at different ages. My mum's skin is dry mine is combination. Both formulas are non-irritating and I think support skin health really well. I think these things come down to budget too because with the peptide-based formulas it can take a while to see a difference.
Thank you! A few people have asked so I've put a note in the description about it along with a link to my six-month update filmed earlier this year where I talk this through in more detail.
I used Adipeau for 6 months between October and March and shared my final thoughts on it here th-cam.com/video/7asSev0nWYs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=anu8CNsdf0i3U6jZ. I found it helpful but I didn't feel I needed to use it long-term and it's not part of my daily routine. Based on the (extensive) feedback I've had from viewers, it seems to be particularly beneficial for those who experienced sudden fat loss due to a procedure or strict dieting and exercise.
It is on a technicality as methylene blue is not yet recognised as a sunscreen by the FDA so there is a personal judgment call to be made there. It's explained at 16:20 in this video th-cam.com/video/USCtKUpIX8I/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bcyYP-wKfvZQocXd
What are your thoughts on adipeau?
I’ve been using hrt for years, I still aged badly
Wow your skin has improved drastically within last couple of months! I love your thorough and analytical videos. Thank you, Clare♥️
You are most welcome!
I noticed this too!
You are so right. 😍😍
You look incredible. Zero jowling and lovely full cheeks
I also noticed this, your skin looks really lovely
You seem like such a kind and genuine woman and it’s awesome of you to share your skin care knowledge with us. I’m 43 and am starting to notice signs of aging and so I want to really improve my skincare game so I appreciate all your tips and tricks. Thank you so much for helping us to age well.
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching.
I love your videos. You are a skilled journalist who presents information very clearly and concisely. Your skin is gorgeous!
Thank you so much ❤️
I've said it recently and I'll say it again Clare, your skin is looking incredible, and I can honestly see the changes over the last year for definite.
Love the simplicity of your routine and the products you are using.
Thank you once again for the advice, research, and time you put into helping a nation of skin care junkies (and thanks to your other half for his excellent editing skills).
Can't wait for the Filler update x
Thank you Sandie. Really appreciate your kind words and support x
✨❤️I did the same! After 25 years of Tretinoin and going through to menopause, I decided to be nicer to my skin…and now it loves me back! ❤️✨Now I use HRT and Retinal, and the serums you’ve mentioned ❤️✨
This is good to hear! Our skin’s microbiome is thanking us 🥰
All of these treatments pay off Claire, you look like you are in your mid-thirties😍 Thanks for sharing your routine🙏🏻
Thank you! 🙏
Mid-thrirties no, but early forties yes😅
Early fifties tbvh …
So glad you found the video helpful! Sounds like you have a great skincare routine going now.
You are looking great and so happy I tuned in today this is exactly what I was hoping for 🙌🏻
Thanks Wendy! So glad you found it helpful!
You look absolutely radiant! Whatever you are doing must be working!
So glad you enjoy the channel. Good to hear you’re tolerating the tret well!
Great video. I’m just getting into the non surgical stuff so I’m excited to see how that goes.
Great to hear you found this helpful!
So good to hear recommendations from a skincare guru aged over 30! Thnx.
🥰
I would recomment Foreo beauty devices to anyone. They have a whole range of quality stuff for different skincare needs. Love this brand
Thank you!
Wow we have so much similar routine, including supplements. There’s Codeage collagen powder on the video (which I’m using too, I also take their hair/skin vitamins), not Donotage as written in the description. I’m 51. I want to get temple filler too. Can’t wait for your video about it.
The Codeage collagen is great. I’ve used it in the past and would happily use it again. Taking DoNotAge at the moment but they’re similar
my favorite devices: LPG wellbox, Tripollar stop, mixed with some micro current devices (ZIIP or what i'm using now, feipushi), with an occassional dermabrasion using trophyskin once a month. My skin care products: nothing fixed but tons of organic oils, butters, and serums and lots of hydration as i live in desert climate. i get lots of compliments on my skin :)
Thanks for sharing this!
Yes, I noticed it was available in the States now - that's good news.
Thank you I’ve been hoping you would do this video ❤
I’ve started the red light for a few mins every day and see a difference after a week.
Sounds like you’ve got a good routine going there ❤️
Great video Clare
You do look absolutely glowing ❤
🥰
Thanks for sharing your routine with us!
Wow very thorough and complete video. Thank you so much !
Glad it was helpful!
I follow your channel and enjoy your journalistic style. It's always informative. Your skin looks healthy and vibrant and the improvement from your treatments are clearly visble. Thanks for the great info.
Thanks so much for your encouragement! It's appreciated!!
So glad you find my channel helpful! Thanks for letting me know x
Are you still using Calecim skincare? Your skin looks beautiful. please make an updated video. Thank you!
Yes, I am - and thank you! I do an updated skincare routine video every year so there’s one for 51 and I turn 52 soon ☺️
I would also love to hear about what makeup you use- you look better and better all the time.
Thank you! The good news is most of what I use is picked up in the grocery store/supermarket! I've listed most of it in this 'ShopMy' collection shopmy.us/collections/254061
Can u specify the lipstick colors? I don’t know if it’s the lighting or not, but the colors appear to be the perfect reddish pink!
Your skin is looking great Clare! It glows! Thank you for the videos and your honesty about various products. I ordered some of these products to try and shared the video with my Mom as well.
You are so welcome!
Love your videos. Thank you for sharing.
So glad you enjoy them!
Sunscreen of course. being an outdoors person my entire life,
Exfoliate twice a week with Tatcha and use a mask afterwards. Have you heard of MediLift? I’m wondering about their skin cream. Thanks! PS I like the Ordinary peptide
which helps to keep moisture in my skin along with hyaluronic during the day. I have a hand held red light the masks are too expensive for me. One more thing is exercise and healthy foods, certain supplements, bamboo, d and k, colostrum, collagen, the cake um cream is not it in budget, however,
Thank you for sharing your routine! It sounds fabulous! Haven’t tried MediLift but thanks for flagging it. ❤️
I dabbed organic olive oil on my face last night especially around sides of mouth i can see plumper skin already il be keeping it up and telling you in one months time how its going 😉
Thanks for sharing!!
Sorry to hear that and thanks for sharing your experience with us.
Great video...thx for your honesty ❤❤❤
Massive thanks for this! ^_^ 💜
🥰
Did you use the NAD testing kit before deciding which vitamin to take?
I’ve read some say to wear protective eye gear because it could cause glaucoma
YAY!! been waiting for this! Thank you for all you do 😄😍🥰
Thank you for supporting me! ❤️
I also use it on my neck without issues.
@@thehonestchannel Thank you so much for your reply, did you have the Tixel on the eyes only? I'm thinking of doing my entire face...
@@liviusss Just around the eyes. It’s quite uncomfortable so hopefully they’ll apply plenty of numbing gel if you go for the whole face.
Please do let us know whether you manage to see a difference if you keep using it!
thanks for the info!
No worries at all. I still bought it! I trust your recommendations.
@@jencrews Thank you. I appreciate that trust.
I haven’t but thanks for the tip 👍
@@thehonestchannel she also has a TH-cam channel. Love your content keep up the great work.
I swear by Paula’s Choice loving here be peptides booster!
It’s a great skincare brand
Thank you so much for sharing this.
Awesome! You look great!! Looking forward to your next videos❤
Thank you!
I was going to give adipeau a try based on your previous videos but since you didn’t include it here I guess I’ll save my money. You look beautiful!
Thankyou, i will
So you use the same No7 Peptide serum around the eyes too or do you use an eye specific peptide serum? Thanks
I don’t use an eye cream so I use No7 around the eyes too.
@@thehonestchannel at boots they told me not to use it around the eyes and buy a seperate eye serum hahaha
I hope there is something you can do about it? xxx
@@maireadweaver8952 Ypu could never ruin my day! Hope the Urchin works well for you.❤️
Thanks Claire.
Would you mind sharing the Instagram feed with us
Brilliant brilliant ! Such a great video! Xxxxx
🥰
Fabulous Clare. So helpful.
Glad you found it useful!
hey Claire, fun video!
I talk about red light eye safety in this video here. th-cam.com/video/AIoH8I8zV50/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OVC1Y3Xadjzh4lo4
It does no harm to be cautious and close your eyes, and I think that's a sensible thing to do - I often do that when I'm on my elliptical machine. The reason CurrentBody recommend 3 mins per use and don't specify to close your eyes is that a study in which red light was used to treat myopia in children found it to be safe and effective at this duration over the three-year study.
I am wondering would you need the Eye protector LED if you are using the led mask?
I use both (eye mask every morning for 3 mins, mask most evenings for 5/6mins) but mainly because I feel my very hooded and dry eyes need a particular boost and I like that I can wear the eye mask on the go.
@@thehonestchannel Thanks for answering my question.. Your skin looks Great! I will try some of the products you are using
Great video.. very informative!!!

Hi. I've linked to the video about my dad's hair restoration in the description.
Ultherapy did wonders for your jawline
Yes, I agree. I would stick to the jawline with it but I may well have it done again in the next year.
Thank you.
Great job yet again🎉
Thank you Cindy!
Hi Clare, just wanted to confirm - are you using led mask (at night) and eye mask (in the morning) every day 7 days a week? Do you take breaks? Also what was the frequency when you started with these masks?
I use an eye mask for 3 mins most mornings but will skip a day when not exercising. I use a mask or panel every other night but just for 6mins
@@thehonestchannelthank you… I’m thinking of investing so wondering in which to ❤
@@Phoenixrises89 That’s always the big question! The CurrentBody mask is a good value option, or for panels, Mito is a popular choice.
I have been using the Omnilux face & chest mask for about 2 years now & love it, & I recently got a Qure mask, & that is so quick & easy. Both are very good @@Phoenixrises89
It is only is SPF 21?? I wish it was more like SPF 50 , but it is intriguing
The results I've achieved (even since looking at videos of me earlier this year) have been very gradual, very subtle but accumulate over time.
thank you for your response. Yes, makes perfect sense@@thehonestchannel
Can you discuss why you opted for HA temple filler rather than Sculptra/Laluma?
I had a tiny amount put in my temple next to my upper eyelid and opted for HA for a more predictable result
Thank you 💕🌸!!
Didn't you like adipeau cream? Are you still using it?
I found it helpful. There’s a note in the description with a link to a video in which I share my thoughts on Adipeau after 6 months.
Is that sunscreen good for darker skin tones ?
I have had a couple of viewers say they noticed a cast with it. Bluelene may be better placed to advise on this though. You can contact them at support@magicbluelabs.com
Is it okay to use blue lens sunscreen in the morning and treat in the night?
I use Bluelene in the morning and a retinoid every other night. As I mentioned in the video they work very differently but I like to incorporate both.
Sorry meant bluelene.
When you show the product can you please pause there for a second or 5, then zoom in , instead of zipping it off the screen in a flash. Would appreciate that very much. Great video and channel BTW.
I'll pass that on to my husband who edits the videos - thanks. All feedback welcome!
)) Question: can retinol kill the facial fat and volume??? If yes, which one does NOT?? 💥
Fabulous!!!❤
You look amazing ❤❤❤
Thank you!!
Oh My Gloooow! ✨✨✨ You look amazing😍. Let' s watch this video asap👀.

Please, why did you stop Adipeau ?
Many thanks
Thank you! A few people have asked so I've put a note in the description about it along with a link to my six-month update filmed earlier this year where I talk this through in more detail.
How can I use Adipeau and Calicum in conjunction?
I would use one in the morning and one at night.
I noticed you don’t use Adipeau. I discovered that on your channel. What is the main reason you don’t use it too?
I used Adipeau for 6 months between October and March and shared my final thoughts on it here th-cam.com/video/7asSev0nWYs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=anu8CNsdf0i3U6jZ. I found it helpful but I didn't feel I needed to use it long-term and it's not part of my daily routine. Based on the (extensive) feedback I've had from viewers, it seems to be particularly beneficial for those who experienced sudden fat loss due to a procedure or strict dieting and exercise.
Thank you❤️
Is there a list of products you use and how to order them?
Hi. Yes, I've listed everything in the description.
Is Bluelene sunscreen SPF 21 only or are my eyes deceiving me?
It is on a technicality as methylene blue is not yet recognised as a sunscreen by the FDA so there is a personal judgment call to be made there. It's explained at 16:20 in this video th-cam.com/video/USCtKUpIX8I/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bcyYP-wKfvZQocXd
