    I am about to turn 69 in a few days. I work hard at keeping my diet and health tip top. When the pandemic broke out, I really started working out a lot, not sacrificing other areas of my life, because if I was going to die a horrible death, at least I was going to be the cutest corpse in the pile. 😂
    I also work hard at trying to minimize aging in my skin (face, neck & body). I have no idea why someone would feel the need to criticize you for your life choices, but we see a lot of that from unhappy people in the US who are clearly unhappy about themselves. I love your channel. Thank you for all of your research and presentations.

    You look stunning. If I look like you at 50, I'll feel beyond blessed and ecstatic. Skincare routines are a wonderful ritual which make us feel like we're actively doing something good. Needles and surgeries can be risky so why not just do the safe thing and give yourself love along the way. That comment was so stupid. Thank you immensely for being so honest, I'm so grateful I found your channel.

    Lastly, I've been listening to many videos on anti-aging: skin care products & routine, diet, etc. and I was looking for a testimony from someone who is aware of what is currently on the market, who has tried many of these things and who is willing to take the time to share their experience with us. Well, thank you, because that person is you and the testimony is yours. I'm now feeling less alone & confused in this big world of anti-aging.

    Tretinoin is the gold standard. If you don’t stick with it you will never get the results you want. I’m 56 and it took me 2 years to work up to every day. People give up WAY too easily. Over the counter will only get you so far. I’m fair and thin skinned. Trust me…..don’t give up. I did and regretted it.

    • @truthseeker4869
      @truthseeker4869 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Agree! I have spent $1000's on shelf drug store skin products with no real lasting visible changes. But started on Tretinoin at 60 years old. Game changer. Now 6 years later I use it daily.

    • @manymoms920
      @manymoms920 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Totally agree. I've been on it for two years. I've also decided to stick to 0.25. six days a week now.

    • @manymoms920
      @manymoms920 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Cycling tretinoin as suggested in the video does not make sense because you'll keep having to acclimate. Better to go for weakest strength and do it for a couple of nights per week and build up from there. Dr Chen is pretty much going against nearly every derm advice I've heard on tretinoin. I'm afraid there are other things I can think of that could be of benefit. Retin a derivatives are still useful if that's the way to go.

      I like that she stop tretinoin not for the benefit, because i also believe that trerinoin is amazing in producing collagen and maintaining young looking skin. I watch dr Amir Karam explained how young looking face depends on 2 main factors: Young looking skin and young looking face shape.
      Young looking skin can be helped with tretinoin as the gold standard, but for young looking face shape we need facial fat, and dr Amir said tretinoin cannot help that problem, so that is why i see hope in adipeau. But for really reviewing this product, we need to stop using tretnoin so there is no bias
      And i really see changes in her facial volume
      Her face is not as square as before, and her fat pads under the eyes also looks more thick than before
      I dont know if it is the angle but the space between her lips and nose also shorthened
      I know that ivan galanin is bias with his statement about tretinoin, but i also believe that his product is showing what it claims for stimulating facial fat
      And one more, i watch her video 6 months ago and comparing with this video and i see change in fat volumes beside her eyes. Her side feature is not as hollow as 6 months ago

    Happy birthday :)
    I love your channel.
    One thing I would suggest is researching the amounts of toxic ingredients in most make up and drug store brand skincare. I discovered Dr. Julia Hunter a few months ago. She has her own skincare line, but more importantly - Her website and TH-cam channel offer great insights, and free content on what ingredients to look for and avoid! Many even so called 'clean' brands use a lot of toxic ingredients. Our skin being the largest organ absorbs all these things and can have an effect on our health, even if we don't immediately realize it.
    I also used to use Olay for many decades before embarking on my current skincare quest. The last couple of years have been very eye opening as to how many hidden poisons are in everything we consume, or put on and in to our bodies.
    My goal is to age gracefully, as healthfully and organically as possible.
    You look fantastic! Thank you for all your insights on this channel. Happy birthday again

    I just randomly found your video interview on NMN, etc, and now that I'm popping onto your channel, turns out it's your birthday😃 Happy Happy Birthday to you!! 🤩🎉🎊🎂 I completely resonate with you saying you agonized over every line and change when you were in your 40's... same was true for me🙄 Now, at 63, I realize that I suffered so unnecessarily! For me as well, my focus has shifted to creating the desired changes from the inside out. I've always worked out and eaten wholesome natural food, but only in the past few months has my body become truly metabolically flexible... meaning I burn ketones and fats effortlessly and rarely crave sweets! Yay! (Dr. Berg is my guru in this regard). So i know I'm well on my way to true "youthening", and shall make use of new information such as the gems that you have recently shared.
    Cheers to you!🥂 Here's to a long, vibrant and happy life for all of us! 💃💃💃

    Great video and helpful as always. I’ve noticed with adipeau how much my lip volume has improved after using twice a day after a few weeks. Other people have noticed. I stopped for a few days and the volume decreased. Back to using it now, a few days later, and it restored the volume. I love the stuff and won’t stop buying it despite the expensive price tag. I’m om my fourth bottle and use twice a day.
    I had a RF and micro needling but found a medical research paper suggesting a connection between RF and breast cancer. It didn’t focus on the RF facials - more on phones computers etc but I can’t think it’s good to have even low levels pumped into the screen. The report was somewhat discredited against the researchers wishes but even so, it still makes sense. Won’t be having any more albeit I have seen modest improvement from one. Looking now at hifu and plasma. Shirley Ballas results were amazing from plasma. I’ve had it on my eyelids and the sagging skin has pretty much gone 😊
    I like the way you critically analyse safety records and downsides which most of YT doesn’t do. Thanks very much.

    You are lovely. Fifty is young! Never worried about aging for a moment at that age. Turning 70 next year, I still make my own face cream and serum and wear minimal make up. Just touch up eyebrows and a little lip gloss. I enjoy food in moderation - except I cut sugars and gluten out of my diet. Exercise for 20-30mins 5 days per week. Generally I have a very positive mindset and never think about getting older. It is what it is. However, my achilles heel is staying up too late. Working on getting more sleep. Great advice, but just keep an eye on preservatives, perfumes and colourants in pricey over the counter creams and lotions. In my experience natural is best. Takes a heck of a lot less time as well. Appreciating who you are goes a long way to giving a woman an air of confidence and mystery - the ultimate attractive qualities.

    That was interesting Claire. I am having a complete reset at the moment since I've discovered the Calecim on your channel. I've ordered the hair stuff for my thinning hair (super expensive but thankfully I could use your discount code) and hope it works. I reckon I can make it last a lot longer than the 6 weeks though esp as I only have to use it at my temples/hairline. I got 2 samples of the multi action cream with my order as well and only use that at the moment to moisturise with spf over the top in the morning. That way I get a break from my daily retinol and actives and can see what a product can do on its own. I find that is always the best way to figure out whether a product is right for you. I feel my skin is a bit dry and lacklustre from all the actives I used over time and I always wanted to see what growth factors can do for my skin. I might try the richer Calecim hydration cream next as I find the multi action cream a tad too drying on my skin. Glad I found your channel. 😀

    One last item. I had my skin cancer screen with my dermatologist. I asked her what should I do for dry skin in cold weather that has been plaguing me. She suggested Cera Ve SA Cream (SA standing for Salicylic Acid). She said they have a lot of creams, so it is important to have the “SA” in the title. I found a 16 ounce jar at Walmart (California, USA) for about US$23.00. The dermatologist said to apply it after your shower, lightly towel off so you keep some water from the shower (or bath) and apply the cream over the damp skin.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CLARE! I too am taking a break from Adipeau since I've been using it for several months now & feel my face is plump enough, but what is your take on the OS-01 One Skin & do you believe it thickens the dermis? They have a new eye cream that just came out & I've been contemplating trying it. I am really tired of taking 10 to 20 supplements a day & am taking a break & only taking the essential ones, but just recently started taking Marine collagen in my coffee & my water to see if that makes a difference. Paula’s choice Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 is a beautiful product and I used it for a while … until I purchased it for my sister who lives in Australia and discovered that it gets downgraded from an SPF 50 in the US to an SPF 15 in Australia! Exactly the same product (they just put a new sticker over the SPF 50 showing SPF 15). Australia’s sunscreen regulations are stringent but there are other sunscreens that are not downgraded such as Paula’s Choice Wrinkle Defense SPF 30, so I switched.

    Happy birthday, Clare. You're such a young-looking lady and look fabulous.🥰
    I have a couple of questions. Re Adipeau. I have a tube but don't know what to do with it or where to apply it. I'm 67 with dynamic 11's and I'm also jowly + I have nasolabial folds... I'm a wreck actually 🤣
    I also want to ask you about Medicube Pheonix. This is such a weird tool, as there is no indication whether or not it is working...does it work? The company perhaps could have put an indicator button of some sort on this device to tell whether it's working.
    Thank you so much for all the valuable information you share. 😍

      Hi Gill. Thanks so much for your kindness!! Re the Adipeau cream, I found it most effective under my eyes and on my cheeks. It you can increase the volume in your cheeks it lifts the jowls! So I would recommend starting there, following the instructions to apply a whitish layer after cleansing once or twice a day.
      I’m afraid I’m not familiar with the Medicube Phoenix so can’t help with that one -sorry! 💕

    I had a terrible reaction to Olay products. Gave them away. Half way through this video still no mention of Adipeau. Finally at 11:45, but you are using so many products how can you tell what is doing what? At 13:16 there is a good before and after photo. I see a big difference in your eyes, and a lessening of your jowls which looks really good.

    Hi Clare. I appreciate your tip about using the Venus close to the eyelashes on the lower lid to help keep the eyes hydrated by warming the oil glands. I suffer from dry eye and have used your suggestion the last few nights before bed with my Venus. It does seem to help! I’m just a little concerned about getting the red light so close to the eye and whether there is any risk of damaging the actual eye. Do you use it on the red or blue mode? Both are warm so perhaps the blue is less risky?

    • @thehonestchannel
      @thehonestchannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use it on the red mode. I haven't seen any evidence that red light is bad for your eyes but there is a fair bit of evidence to show it might help eye health. Moving the pen around your closed eyes for a couple of minutes at a time should be a very low-risk treatment.

We are spoiled for choice in terms of skincare nowadays so everybody who wants to sell theirs better keep their prices reasonable 😁

    Hi Clare, regarding Vitamin C serums, some are really yellow in colour because they are formulated with ingredients which may be yellow. Ferulic acid is yellow actually, so I am surprised to hear you say that your vitamin c serum which has Ferulic acid is clear in colour? Even skinceuticals vitamic c serum is a pale yellow colour. I believe a pure ascorbic acid should be clear but many vitamin c serums come forumulated with other ingredients that can give it a yellow tint. That does not mean they are ineffective, but I wish there is some test to check their effectiveness.

That said, wondering if you think this is worth the money time and effort. Thank you!!

      Hi. This video was really intended as my final thoughts - I felt it gave me a bit of a volume boost around the cheeks but I saw it more as a one-off course of treatment rather than something I'd used in my long-term skincare routine. The most positive feedback I've received from viewers on this cream has been among those who lost face fat suddenly due to energy-based treatments so that is something to keep in mind.

    • @thehonestchannel
      @thehonestchannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad it's working out so far - I think the longer-term results are a bit of an unknown. Adipeau say you don't have to keep using it and that once you're happy with the results they should maintain on their own for a good period of time. I stopped using it after 6-months and feel there's been a bit of volume loss but I've also lost weight after increasing my daily exercise so it's very hard to say. Certainly you shouldn't have to use it twice daily long-term.

      @@thehonestchannelHello Clare, how significant was the volume loss after you stopped using adipeau?
