I'm confused. When I click on the link for updates on the dogs shown in your videos, I don't see updates, I just see the same videos again. Where is the update on Page/Paige? (It was spelled two different ways lol)
I've been mourning my last dog and had decided that I wasn't doing to be a dog owner anymore. You inspired me to go to my local shelter and adopt a young dog (less than a year) off their forget me not list. He's pretty much spent his whole life in a shelter. He has a lot to learn about the world, but I want to give kudos to the shelter staff and volunteers who clearly gave him a lot of love and attention. He is a happy, sweet guy who is anxious to please and learns quickly. He gets along great with other dogs and loves people - so he must have had plenty of opportunities to meet both. He is an awesome dog and I don't understand why no one picked him before I did (other than black dog syndrome).
I am glad that you decided to rescue another dog. It certainly doesn't replace your loss, but will help you heal, it fills an emptiness for sure. Hope you have many happy years with your new dog.
I understand your loss😢 I lost my cocker spaniel Max who was 13 yrs old this past July. However I ❤ dogs so much that I couldn't see myself without a dog & I know i can save a life and that's rewarding. I've learned that the ❤ u can no longer give to your deceased dog u can give it to the new pet 💯and it's such a beautiful thing to pass on that ❤ to a new pet who needs it so much. I like yourself ended up adopting a dog in a kill shelter in late August. It is the best thing bc they appreciate it so much🐶💯
I adopted a 4 year old Aussie in 2020. She had been rescued from a puppy mill and had been used as a breeder dog. She had been certainly neglected, if not abused. All she wanted to do was lay in a corner & be left alone. I gave her time & space, and slowly she started to come out of her corners & lay in the middle of a room (that was a big deal). She quickly learned to LOVE her walks. It took almost a year before she would come to me seeking attention & petting -- up until then she tolerated it, but didn't really want it. Fast foward to NOW: she is a certified therapy dog, LOVES kids, loves going with me everywhere in the car, and is the best companion. She is so gentle and sweet, everyone loves her everywhere we go. Rescue dogs are SO worth the time & effort!!! Please adopt.
Thank you for adopting her and giving her the patience she desperately needed to be comfortable in her new, never-before world. God Bless both of you♥️🐾🙏
I'm a big, unkempt, bearded dude, most people would consider me imposing or even scary if they don't know me. Little do they know I cry my eyes out hugging my rescue kitty watching videos such as this one haha
But you seem you want to look scary by intention, if you realize you have this effect to others. With unknown people, as well as with any animal, we have no other choice, than look into their eyes, see the body movement, etc, to get an idea how they feel.
@@holger_pI realize that I have this effect on people because I've been told all my life. I'm a head taller and twice the weight of the average guy, can't help it. Also, I'm shy and since eyes turn to me whenever I enter a room, I get tense and don't often smile. In the end, people that interact with me instantly realize that I'm just a teddy bear and wouldn't hurt a fly.
I’m sorry. Being an introvert myself, I know how painful it is. Now in my early 70’s tho, I have given up Trying to be what I think others want me to be. If your in the US, a beard would, most likely, ID you as one of trumps Maga movement. That alone Is scary. You’ll be fine; just be You❤️ Life’s weird, but it’s what we’ve got. Good luck, and best wishes.
So happy that this fluffy marshmallow was adopted by one of the volunteers!! I was about ready to drive from Ohio to get him!! Huskies and Malamutes are amazing dogs for the right people. Research your breeds!!
I have an aussie that I rescued several years ago. I can tell you from experience that she is sitting in that window because she needs to feel in control. These dogs are extremely intelligent and one thing for certain is they like to feel that they are in control. Sitting in that window helps her with that, plus she is able to watch for her "humans" return. Poor baby. I wish I could adopt her, but I can only have one dog with my current housing situation.
My rescue GSD does the same thing. We have a sofa by the front window. He loves to sit on it with his head on the back, looking out. It's him watching the neighborhood.
From what little I know about shepherd dog breeds, that is such a typical thing. They are literally bred to keep watch, and "heading to the high ground" must be instinctual whenever they think things aren't 100% okay (even if things are, like being in a safe environment but they don't know it's safe yet). They are so intelligent, too, and I do wonder if they can imagine situations and let their imagination run away with them, particularly if they perceive something to be wrong. I might well be, er, barking up the wrong tree, but they're so smart it wouldn't surprise me!
Border collies are very intelligent and easy to train they do need a lot of exercise because in Australia they are used by farmers to round up sheep and cattle but they are loving pets too my neighbour has one but he has a big backyard where she can run around in and also goes for a long walk with her
I agree and my first thought is she is watching for her human. When I adopted a shelter dog, for a long time he was constantly searching from the car window for his previous owner, especially any trucks that he saw. She wants to be sure she doesn't miss her human if he/she walks by.
The first dog is an ATHLETIC Border Collie. They are extremely smart and sensitive.... but a really SWEET breed. She, in particular, is a really sweet girl !!!!!!!
I adopted a 7 yr old border collie from a shelter. It was the best decision I ever made.. He first saw me and jumped into my arms. I loved him with all my heart and still miss him every day even though he passed 15 years ago. True love never dies.
Paige looks to be an Aussie border collie mix that’s very popular with ranchers and farmers here in rural Tx. They are devoted to their humans and will often be found going everywhere in the ranch vehicles totally untethered. They wait patiently for their return and will not move until released by him/her. Also they are bred to be livestock and people “watchers” and should never be isolated in enclosed environments. It does create confusion and fear. They definitely need a job and inclusion in errand activities around and about town to fulfill their unique breeding attributes.
I thought Border Collie, too. Such great dogs, but people don't understand their needs. Need a lot of physical & mental stimulation. Such smart dogs!!!! ❤❤
Yeah border collie in her, they are through and through sheep dogs so she probably wants to be outside running around, I mean see how easily she just jumps on that window sill. Being inside is probably really stressful for her, more so than other breeds.
I hope Paige gets a forever home soon! She'll make the best dog for someone willing to put in a little time with training. If I could have a dog, I'd take her in a heartbeat. She'd make a great working dog... for a farm or as a service dog.
Yes, I think you nailed it about this dog. She wants OUT. She is used to getting up into a truck bed or a 4 x 4 and going to work. How the heck did this gorgeous dog end up in a shelter?
Oh I wish we could adopt that malamute! We have a foot of snow, a sister that owns dog grooms salon , I bathed dogs and a husband that wants a running dog! Plus I love the fur !
My pupper was a border collie that was shut down. He was in a hoarding situation, lived 2 yrs in a small cage and no socialization. Afraid of everything, I had him for 10 yrs before he passed away suddenly. He was so sweet and loving but never truly became a normal dog. We had a beautiful relationship that worked for us and I miss him everyday
Sorry for your loss. I have two collie cross dogs too who came from a rescue, and they’re not exactly normal dogs either. I think being so smart that if they end up abused they’re hard to get to a normal state
I would be crazy if my blind baby was lost!! I have fostered blind and deaf dogs and they don't think they have a "disability." They learn the layout and learn signals quickly. What beauties those 3 babies are!!
my old dog was born without one of his hind legs and he didn't think he was disabled either! lots of people didn't notice when they first met him, he did so well without it.
I own a 1yr old malamute and a 6 yr old husky/malamute. That behavior from the malamute puppy is very much normal and I absolutely love my snuggles from my boys! I do need to warn people, as beautiful as they are, they are VERY strong willed, not for a novice owner, and they need a strong confident leader and boundaries. If you are willing to put in the work and stay on top of them, they make wonderful family dogs 😊
Yep, huskies and malamutes are more independent thinkers because they need to disobey commands (when they know something is wrong) and read what's around them for signs of danger so they can steer themselves away from a potential accident.
My grandma used to sing me that song as a little girl, I currently have a 5 year old Australian Shepherd whose full name is Sophia My Love 😍 so we will be keeping our fingers crossed that this little cutie of an Aussie finds her loving forever home SOON! 🥰🐾❤️🤗
This anonymous saying is my credo: It came to me that every time I lose a dog, they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog that comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, every component of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are.❤❤❤
O M G !! Ranma the Malamute is just stunning. I am not a jealous person, but boy was I jealous watching you get all those cuddles - he is an absolute dream. I love love love him. If only you could pop him in the mail and send him to me and my Samoyed Amy in Australia. We would take him in an instant and love him so much! I just adore him - his face matches his personality - just beautiful. I am guessing you wont post him, so I hope and pray he finds a beautiful loving family who will look after him and love him - and in turn have a happier life because of him. Yes dogs, really do make you that happy! Blessings.
I cried when Rosie was adopted. I remember knowing as a child I wasn’t wanted. I see it in animals and am so happy to see that they are actually loved and wanted!🥹❤️❤️❤️
@@nunyabiz- thank you. I have a cat nobody wanted because she’s talking much of the time and has separation anxiety so cries until I get back from shopping, appointment or church. I’m grateful for neighbors in the apartment that don’t complain. Thank you for the encouraging comment. God bless you.
The black and white doggy … so innocent and so traumatized… this sitting exchange is so precious and so beautiful… just is so hopeful… she will be ok … I hope she finds a new home and she can also get to jump on a window sill just to know that’s her safe space and there is no judgement…. She is gorgeous…
All of my cats, except one, have been rescues. There is such a difference in the relationships with rescues. They never forget that you saved them from a horrible situation and the love they repay you with is priceless!❤❤❤
I want the malemute. I had a female malemute, Sasha, 40 years ago. She was the best dog! Beautiful, too. I LOVE snow dogs. When Sasha passed I looked for another one, but found a Samoyed first and fell in love. He was amazing, too. And after him, another Samoyed. The most beautiful dogs and so loving and friendly. The hard part is the shedding and taking care of the coat. But worth it!
Huskies are very prey driven and smart. I live next to a field they let over grow, cut, and bale for hay about 2-3 times a year and this causes field mice sometimes. My husky/malamute has caught a few mice that have found their way inside and getting him to drop it is like opening the jaws of life with your bare hands, when I can normally take anything out of his mouth. I have to temp him with a treat to drop it. I've seen him push his food bowl into the middle of the kitchen floor so he could watch and draw one out after he caught one the day before. They're 4 year olds in fur coats.
That Alaskan Malamute looks like a huge teddy bear the way he just melted into cuddling with you. His face and coloring is absolutely gorgeous. I do know, from someone I knew who used to have one of them is, they are a lot of work. If you keep them in the house you will have a ton of dog hair even if you brush them daily.
They shed - and I mean a blizzard of wool - only twice a year. In between there's little shedding. And that coat stays amazingly clean and odor -free. What sheds out is the wooly undercoat. I've had people ask me to save the wool so they can spin it into yarn!!
I have an Australian Sheppard, and yes, dogs with a lot of hair are a lot of work with grooming and hair. I wouldn't trade my dog Bandit for anything in the world though.
Rocky I've been watching your videos for a while now and I've noticed that when you first go in with a dog, they look so sad but after you've been with them a while,it's like you breathe new air into them cause by the time you leave, they are a new dog with the way they look, especially the way they act!!! You are a dog whisperer+a wonderful person! May God bless you Please keep up the amazing work!!!!
MOST important is to make certain that when you pick a dog you can DELIVER their needs. For Malamutes they are so smart, so large and cost plays an issue. These are dogs that need lots and lots of exercise and attention. If you work 9-5 please do not get a dog that you cannot give proper care all of their lives. I adore Mals but could not ever own one due to my inability to work hard to make them happy. I am thrilled he got adopted! Hope they realize they are lucky and also hopefully prepared for their new fam member. The aussie is waiting for someone she knows. Mine always looked out the window when I was gone.
That husky 8 minutes in might be a “ piebald husky mix “ we rescued one. And I thought I knew huskies but I didn’t know the piebald. They are a specialty bread. About $3000 from a breeder. It’s the spots that tell me she’s a pie bald. She’s a great dog! Beautiful! And Paige “ that doggie in the window “ she’s precious! Oh I love them all. I hope piebald gets a forever home. She will be the perfect dog PIEBALD HUSKIES ARE SMART ! I have huskies but my piebald is next level smart. And Paige is very smart too. She needs a great home. And a job. Someone give her a job ! She can be the greeter. The manager of the house. lol. I love what you do ! Thank you !
I adopted my last dog from the shelter, FULL Malamute! His name was Kanuk, and he was THE most loving, caring, PREY DRIVEN character I have ever owned. It was a situation of my dad had chickens and a large portion of them are no more 😢. I moved out with him and he was my best friend for over two more years until he started having seizures and had no more quality of life, so I had to put them down....😢 I miss that dog every day!!!
Paige is so sweet! She reminds me so much of our boy Ollie, he came from a bad home and is a little reactive and scared but he’s so playful and silly and loving. Bonding with that scared dog is worth everything!! ❤
Paige reminds me of my first cat. Midnight was a private adoption, which is how I know for a fact she was abused. Midnight took a month to come out from hiding while we were awake. She was the sweetest most loyal cat I had for thirteen years. Even if they don't flip that switch and become confident and loving, it's still so rewarding to see what progress they can make. My bunny Ellie was found abandoned outside. She acts like she knows the world is an inherently dangerous place. There isn't a lot of trust there, even though we have had her for 7 years. And I'll admit I would get down about it sometimes. I just wanted a fluffer who wanted cuddles. But the trust she does show? The joy and comfort? That was hard earned. (And I adopted an old boy from the shelter who adores cuddles, to fill that hole.)
Rock, I'm writing you from São Paulo, Brazil, just to tell you that is impressive the way you treat and give love to all that dogs. I've an Spitz, all white, a perfect lady and very smart and I love dogs. Please receive an string hug and all my admiration for your work!! Keep it up!!! You are big dad for all that puppies...
I’m so happy to see that Vince got adopted! Thanks again for helping more dogs and for another great video. I was talking with a co-worker about you and Vince last night!
@@lynnchristenson6209You can see the official update/announcement on Rocky’s “community” post here on TH-cam from 5 days ago! I was worried as well. If I could have responsibly done it, I would have totally adopted him! He’s perfect!
Those two little dogs are so cute. I would adopt both if I could. I had a maltese that got to the age of 16. I had to put her down. My heart was broken and I still miss her.
FOR THOSE THAT WANT TO ADOPT AND AREN'T LOCAL: Please reach out to rescue organizations in your area so they can tag and transport them! You can then foster-to-adopt them ❤🐕/🐈 (the shelter is called animal friends of the valley, and is located in southern California!) Thank you rocky for what you do!
Have resolved that once I’m physically able will definitely rescue from local shelter unless I can find a corgi to adopt ( had a stroke and can’t care for a dog right now
Malamutes are amazing. High energy. Tons of love. And really should live in colder climate or one that isn’t all heat year round. They truly do crave the snow and cold. My Malamute was used for breeding and I got the owner to give her to me. She lived the rest of her life on our farm. Free and loved and plenty of snow for her “puppy angels” as I called them. Katie was a beautiful dog.
The one with the waggley tail? I love Patti Page...I love this pupper! Perfect name and I hope she keeps it. These babies break me. I've devoted my life to rescuing and I mean for the rest of their lives. I'm so happy doing it. Right now, I've just got a basset hound...his sister passed and I usually go to basset hound rescue of Georgia but I'm going to find him a sibling. He needs a playmate and it's the first time I've only had one in almost 30 years. I'm home all day with Bogey and my 2cats. So that's why I wanted Tulip. I'll find someone who needs a mom who's home all day! And has a family owned and run vet clinic! ❤
I couldn’t have gone into that shelter and walked out with less than 3 of those dogs! The border collie was so freaking precious, the mal mix so calm and goofy and the Malamute would be the perfect cuddle buddy 😍
I cracked up watching this video because you mentioned the song how much is that doggie in the window. Many many years ago my father told me that was the number one song the day I was born in 1953. But the joke was my dad said that’s no dog, that’s my daughter! And we laughed and laughed about that for many years. So when you mentioned that song, it really brought back some fond memories. And that dog is adorable! Thanks for the memories and thanks for what you do.
Our vet in Nashville ran an unwanted litter shelter. My husband and I already had 2 grown dogs but we would visit and sit with the puppies and get them socialized with people. There was one litter that was chow/retriever and all the reddish and golden pups were adopted, but the black pups were the last to go. Finally just one pup was left and of course my husband walks in our house with the last pup that we had spent so much time with
I'm so happy their are great dogs lovers out there in the world ,we taken in 15 dog ourselves 20 acres fence in land for them to play in . Yes expensive but well worth it ,from sad dogs to happy loved friends .
I wish I could travel to California and adopt that malamute and bring him back to Maine. Malamute huskies are amazing dogs. I had a Shepard husky mix years ago. They are such loving dogs. That malamute was sure showing his loving side to you.
I grew up with a shepard/husky and he was amazing. Got him in the parking lot of a local fabric store the day after Christmas my senior year in high school and parents almost killed me, especially when he chewed up their expensive persian rug :) But when he died my dad cried like a baby. That dog would dive into our pool for tennis balls 100 times in a row. He also was afraid of storms and would literally crunch doorknobs trying to get out. But he was the king of our house!
So excited to see the malamute. I wish I could take him home. They don't come often in the shelters. We had a malamute, German shepherd growing up. Miss her all the time. Everybody knows the doggy in the window song. It's like the first song you learn after Old MacDonald. I thought you had a great fashion sense. I hope Louis and Vuitton get to keep their new names
My Aussie Poodle mix that I rescued exhibited much of the same behaviour as this Aussie...they are a super smart breed and need a lot of time to recover and trust again...what a great dog for someone
Great initiative. Very kind and considerate to comfort shelter dogs. In India, there are hardly any shelters, whatever is there have horrific and inhuman condutions for animals. Makes my heart break. Btw great background music in the beginning of the video.
Hi Rocky. My name is Karen & I am Australian. I recently saw a video you did with little Ashley where you bathed her. She is absolutely gorgeous. I have a Mini Foxie & he is a gorgeous boy. I have had him since he was 8 weeks old & he is now 14 years old. Unfortunately he is very sick & I don't know how long we are going to have him. I admire what you do & how you take the time to sit with the dogs no matter how long the smallest step takes. I enjoy watching how they interact with you once they are comfortable with you. Of course the treats help.
Ranma got right into my heart. We adopted a husky (Archer) back in 2015 and he was a big lover too. He was all of 90 lbs and would crawl up into your lap and just lay there for love and scratches. Unfortunately he developed some spinal issues and he passed several months ago. We miss him dearly.
HOW MUCH IS THAT DOGGIE IN THE WINDOW was my favorite song when I was little while imagining asking my dad to get me that doggie. I sing it every single day, will even ask my mom to sing along with me.
I adopted a dog who’s been rescued out of a puppy mill/byb with 500 other dogs. When we got to know him in the shelter. He was scared of every movement or sound. Now (only 5 months) he’s the most cuddly, cheeky, silly boy ever! His tail wags 24/7 and he’s the sweetest boy ever! We have a behavioral expert who comes by, the last time she was here she was amazed by the progress he’s made. So proud of my boy Flynn❤☺️
Just came across this today. That malamute reminds me so much of my boy (I found him on the street, eating out of a dumpster), I’d drive to socal tomorrow to adopt him if that were still an option. Looks like he found a forever home with one of the shelter volunteers. I’m happy for him.
We have an Aussie and they need a human to work for and love. They are SO smart and need a purpose! He LOVES to ride in the truck with my husband. I agree that Paige is an Aussie/Border Collie mix.
I’m more of a Cat person, but I don’t think I could have left the shelter without Paige. She is kind of the dog of my dreams. She looks like she has some Border Collie in her, too. A couple of months of TLC and letting her run and work, and be herself in a safe environment, and she will be somebody’s furever fur-baby. Lucky people. 💜🥰🐶 She is a BEAUTY! PS - I bet if the shelter contacted a Humane Society in Canada, there is probably someone waiting for a Malamute in a location like Newfoundland, where they have cold weather 8 months of the year. 👍🇨🇦
That malamute is a stunning stunning dog!! I really admire what you do Mr Kanaka! I used to own a husky (I'm too old to Care for a dog now) but I really admire what you do. That malamute is absolutely stunning! 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I had a stunning Malamute. He was big and. Beautiful. Nikki was wonderful. He unfortunately he would kill skunks. When he gave you a kiss, it brought you to tears. Miss him everyday.
My dad just adopted a dog from a local shelter. His background was that he spent 6 yrs as an outside only dog. So we are taking it slow and he is exploring his new house which he never been in before. Experiencing things like groceries being brought in and having other fur siblings.
These dogs are gorgeous. So sad knowing these babies are so scared, alone and sad. I feel the first one sits in the window so she can see what's coming so she can be 'prepared' out of lack of trust and fear. Rosie is so pretty. I'd love to have her, sadly I can't afford a big dog nor do I have the yard space. I hope the duo get adopted together. They are precious. RANMA!!! OH MY how gorgeous. Who ever takes him is truly lucky. I hope they all find loving homes. True loving homes FOREVER.
Those two dogs in the corner made me cry. I mean, what a good reminder of how beautiful life is and how precious it is. Love is so healing. This is awesome ❤
Some great dogs today. But the malamute pup is absolutely gorgeous. It makes one wonder how a dog like that can end up in a shelter. Someone paid a lot of money for him. Well, I want to wish all of them the best in life. And you too, Rocky.
My husband and I adopted 3 huskies and 1 husky-shepherd mix from the local animal shelter so far. Everyday is chaos but we are definitely having fun and warm feeling with them. I signed up to your channel so that hopefully it helps reduce dogs from any shelters. I just hope all the dogs will go to great families that cherish them throughout their lives. Thank you Rocky and your staff members for doing this great work!!
We have 3 dogs, 1 cat and 11 chickens. Only 2 can be trusted around our chickens, so we just keep the ladies in a chicken tractor every day so they can get their exercise, dust baths, and access to more grass and bugs. Some dog breeds are just bred for hunting, so i wouldn't expect them to resist the chickens. I am so happy Rosie got adopted out again 💓! I'm rooting for Paige! We have a border collie, a border collie heeler mix, and a boxer beagle mix...two were rescues and we LOVE herding dogs...so intelligent!
I adopted a senior Alaskan Malamute from a rescue. His name is Zeus and he's 9 years old-he was 8 when I adopted him. Best dog I've ever had! Just like Ranma, Zeus is so loving. That's all he wants-is loving! hehe, after treats, of couerse. He obeys every command and is just the perfect dog. Very pronounced features. i wish I had known Zeus when he was younger. I really hope someone gives Ranma a chance! You won't regret it if you do!
I adopted a dog that had been in the shelter for over two years. It took me another two years of work to be able to get him ready for dog camp. He had a great time. It made all the work worth it.
I have been blessed to have had 2 Alaskan malmute's. I grew up with one crossed with German Shepherd. My husband and I were given a beautiful pure bred , and I want another. These dogs are so smart , amazing with children, and just a perfect family dog. Lots of training and patience will give a family so much ❤️
You are not wierd you have found an amazingly satisfying job to do and your work is worth so much. It’s hard when people take dogs on, but they don’t really “get” them and they leave them psychologically broken. Wish I could adopt but my local adoption centre -Battersea cats and dogs home has apparently already got enough volunteers and I am working full time and can’t have a dog but lovely to watch what you do if you don’t mind
Rocky, thank you for bringing attention to the plight of the malenois, another case of people not researching the breed. The malenois needs a job and a lot of training to keep them interested and stop them from becoming bored and destructive. This is an extremely smart breed, but easily gets bored. This is why they make great police and military dogs. People need to understand that if you get a Malenois it shouldn't be your first time dog they need experienced handlers
Thank you again Sandra. Really appreciate you being a member and you are so right. They are smart and need a lot of guidance, exercise and companionship.
We are seeing individuals buying working dogs because they look great and our "cute", without realizing what is involved in owning a working dog. It seems that most of the aforementioned dogs in this shelter are working dogs. Dutch Malnois, German Shepherds, Australian Shepherds, and EVERY type of husky are working dogs. They need constant attention and training . They need to be given plenty of exercise.
@DeniseEggertwaterlily The variety takes its name from the Mechelen region (called Malines in French), where it was the predominant coat type used by the local shepherds 1956 the current breed standard was adopted and it specified the four varieties known today; the Groenendael, Laekenois, Malinois and Tervuren.

All that Malamute wants is to be loved. You can see it, the way it tries to snuggle in. Paige is one smart girl. Easy to train. will love all her treats as rewards. very loyal. Primal is gonna be great for the kids, the way they both grow up together, they just gonna bond.
The 2 babies hiding in the corner made me want to cry! I have 3 Yorkie Shi Tzu mixes and those 2 touched my heart. Wish I could take 2 more but my 3 are 13, 13, and 14 years old and on an occasion can be a little much because they are still so active! I hope Louis and Vuitton find a home soon!
i wish i had the capabilities to do what you do,you make me smile, cry and wish,i wish they all could find forever homes that treat them the way all dogs should be treated,my dog is 16 and 6,the senior dog was raised on my farm, the little dog whose younger was given to me as a birthday gift by my daughter..My husband died and my son moved me close to him,i do not drive,i need eye surgery, but i would give up anything i own to help just one,ty for what you do
Oh Gosh! The Malamute you have in this video just brings me back to all the memories of my Malamute that I used to have. My Frisk (his name)was trained as a sled dog. But I didn't have any other Malamutes or sleds, so I used my skis on flat land and learned all the commands & had him pull me around on my skis! Someone active is going to love this boy!
That Malamute was especially gorgeous and affectionate. Seems like such a good dog. That Malinois puppy stole my heart. They are such an amazing, intelligent breed.
She is a Border Collie Rocky! I have 2 both rescues and I'm still amazed why they even got to a shelter! My Great Fortune! They are my Best friends! So smart and sweet! I had Goldens (rescues years ago) and now I'm a Border Collie Daddy!
Oh man you know Primal is going to have a good life since he's going to be trained as a service dog. When your dog is an integral part of your life like a service dog is, they get the best of care and the most loving of families because they are so so imporant. (Not that pets aren't, my girl is my life but they mean something even deeper to the people they help live a fulfilling life) Best of luck in your training Primal!
My Zara is a rescue and being trained to be my service dog! She's almost done! She then gets her big girl harness! So proud of her! She's a pit/staffie mix! She's in a loving home with two more regular rescues who are normal pets. I always adopt from shelters! The youngest is Mum's chiweenie and we have my fiancée and I's old man, Tootsie who is a chorgi. We got an older dog from an k1ll shelter. He's deaf and no one wanted him. He was going to be put down when we adopted him that day.
It warms my heart to see how you connect with these dogs. Like this Australian Shepard in the beginning. She's such a sweetheart and deserves some love. Or that cute puppy. Oh gosh. But that malamute - what a gorgeous dog! He's so friendly and lovely - what is such a dog doing in California? But anyways I really do hope he finds a good and loving home! They all do deserve our love. ❤ I for myself also realized that just being with a dog gives you so much - as a human. Dogs are so loving animals and attach they quickly when you treat them correctly. Thank you for your amazing work. 💛🐶
You know the one thing you know for SURE??? That you NEVER know for sure. The dog that you least expect you'll fall in love with...years ago.....my sister had her heart set on a particular breed. And she wound up seeing Moonie, a Cairn mix who was on a site called AMSTERDOGS in NYC. She has had Moonie now, for almost a decade. When we home cared our mom (2015-2017) who had dementia and was in her 90's....she lived with my sister. And Moonie was a part of the care team. He kept an eye on mom, never got underfoot, and seemed to somehow sense mom was a little bit 'unusual' and needed attention. Dogs are amazing.
Thanks so much to everyone asking to donate. Please donate to your local rescue or directly to Animal Friends of the Valleys. If you want to be a member and a part of this journey with me I would love to have you just hit that "JOIN" button above ❤🐶😻
How could no one want him? He’s adorable! I would gladly take him but unfortunately I live in another state
I'm confused. When I click on the link for updates on the dogs shown in your videos, I don't see updates, I just see the same videos again. Where is the update on Page/Paige? (It was spelled two different ways lol)
What happened to the brown Labrador retriever??? You featured that dog about 2 weeks ago maybe three?
I would dearly love to adopt Ranma. I live in Tennessee and rescues around me won't transport dogs from other states. What else are my options?
Herding dog just likes focusing on movement.
You will be so happy I lost 2 both long life and I went and got a little pom and she's my soul mate your going to be awesome 😎🙏🌹
Sorry to hear about your loss and thank you for saving a life ❤️🤙
I am glad that you decided to rescue another dog.
It is the best thing bc they appreciate it so much🐶💯
@@69Fabulosity your awesome 😎🙏🌹 thank you for open ❤️
My Dad had a border collie. Best dog he ever had. Easy to train, loving, attentive.
💯
Thank you for adopting her and giving her the patience she desperately needed to be comfortable in her new, never-before world. God Bless both of you♥️🐾🙏
She is so lucky you found each other. Bless both of you,❤❤❤❤🙏
I'm a big, unkempt, bearded dude, most people would consider me imposing or even scary if they don't know me. Little do they know I cry my eyes out hugging my rescue kitty watching videos such as this one haha
You sound like a great man and kitty duo.
You’ll be fine; just be You❤️
Life’s weird, but it’s what we’ve got. Good luck, and best wishes.
Hey buddy. Im in love with a big hairy guy in Alaska. No reason to be unkempt honey. God bless you.
So happy that this fluffy marshmallow was adopted by one of the volunteers!! I was about ready to drive from Ohio to get him!! Huskies and Malamutes are amazing dogs for the right people. Research your breeds!!
very different dogs but both nice breeds. I've never owned a husky.
Fluffy marshmellow😂 I used to own one, some1 called her shamu
Border collies are very intelligent and easy to train they do need a lot of exercise because in Australia they are used by farmers to round up sheep and cattle but they are loving pets too my neighbour has one but he has a big backyard where she can run around in and also goes for a long walk with her
@@y_fam_goeglyd Two rescued sheos. They know what was bad and what is good in their situations.
It’s heartbreaking seeing such a self-aware and intelligent breed in a pound.
I had one that just loved to jump up onto everything to get a good view.
She's Beautiful ❤
Smart, sweet and sensitive? My kind of dog ❤
I think you are right. Thanks for watching ❤🤙
We have a foot of snow, a sister that owns dog grooms salon ,
I bathed dogs and a husband that wants a running dog! Plus I love the fur !
I am SO GLAD to see on the website that Paige was adopted!!! HOORAY!!! What a beautiful little Australian Shepherd.
Me too. Go you gorgeous little Aussie🇦🇺
wonderful.....🤩💃🐕❤
Border collie
Auatralian Shepherd? WTF no
She's looking/waiting for someone.
This Alaskan Malamute is so beautiful.
Hopefully he gets adopted by the right family with lots of outside adventures and fun!
@crazyvikinglady9448 ❤️🩹Condolences- Thx for your commitment & work !🌞
Sorry for your loss. I have two collie cross dogs too who came from a rescue, and they’re not exactly normal dogs either. I think being so smart that if they end up abused they’re hard to get to a normal state
You were such a hero for accepting him as he was, it's what they do for us. 🙏
I'm so sorry for your loss
He was lucky to get to kind and patient you!
100% yes! Constant work with them. They are so smart.
Yep, huskies and malamutes are more independent thinkers because they need to disobey commands (when they know something is wrong) and read what's around them for signs of danger so they can steer themselves away from a potential accident.
I had a Malamute for 17 years.....she was great.
Same..had a husky/malamute mix and he a great family dog, loves kids very protective, barely barks but you need a huge yard but he is very trainable
My grandma used to sing me that song as a little girl, I currently have a 5 year old Australian Shepherd whose full name is Sophia My Love 😍 so we will be keeping our fingers crossed that this little cutie of an Aussie finds her loving forever home SOON! 🥰🐾❤️🤗
This anonymous saying is my credo:
It came to me that every time I lose a dog, they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog that comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, every component of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are.❤❤❤
I haven't heard that one before - what a great way to think about it!
♥
In that case, seven pieces of my heart have been taken (one for each ten years of my life) and seven pieces have been restored.❤😀💕
This absolutely brought on the tears ❤️🩹
Thank you for sharing
❤ that. So wonderful 👍😊
Omg, this beautiful Shepard/Collie Pup needs a good home ASAP! Breaks my heart…😮😢😢
THANK U ROCKY!!!! 💖❤️💜😘
1st dog, it's almost like she's there looking for one particular someone....who isn't coming. Each time she jumps up, she's looking.
Yesssssssss that's it. 😭😭
Omg this comment is going to make me cry 😢
My thought exactly
That's the first thing I thought 😔
@@speaktruth9631 I thought the same. She figures, “If I stay up here, my owner will see me when he comes.” She thinks he will come.
Alaskan Malamutes are amazing and wonderful animals! I was honored to have owned by one for almost 17 years. Lucky the person can be one with them. 😊
I send my gratitude to you and your team for what you do for dogs Rocky
You have the deep empathy that we all need - a special person! 🧡
I’m so sorry you had bad childhood. Since you love dogs you know that having one is having family. Good luck with all you do.
When my part malamute was in Alaska, the dry air in the winter prevented matting.
The duo dogs broke my heart. I hope they find a home together.
That is the most beautiful malamute I've ever seen.
A Husky only moults once per year, lasts all year long, but they are worth it, plus a house is not a home when there is no fur in it.
It was one of the best moments of the month for me so far 😆🤙
I have an Australian Sheppard, and yes, dogs with a lot of hair are a lot of work with grooming and hair. I wouldn't trade my dog Bandit for anything in the world though.
That’s why you have ‘fur’niture!!! ❤️💕🥰😁😂💕❤️🌟✨
Thank you !
That malamute. That face. OMG. My heart. 🐾
I adopted my last dog from the shelter, FULL Malamute! His name was Kanuk, and he was THE most loving, caring, PREY DRIVEN character I have ever owned. It was a situation of my dad had chickens and a large portion of them are no more 😢. I moved out with him and he was my best friend for over two more years until he started having seizures and had no more quality of life, so I had to put them down....😢
I miss that dog every day!!!
I could never do this. I couldn't leave them. I'd be crying constantly💔♥️
Oh that makes me so happy to hear, I was so worried about Vince!

FOR THOSE THAT WANT TO ADOPT AND AREN'T LOCAL:
Please reach out to rescue organizations in your area so they can tag and transport them!
You can then foster-to-adopt them ❤🐕/🐈 (the shelter is called animal friends of the valley, and is located in southern California!)
Thank you rocky for what you do!
Will rescues typically do this, be willing to transport them outside of the state?
@@teapoodle3977 Some do, yes. I can find a list of rescues in your area that can transport if you want!
Have resolved that once I’m physically able will definitely rescue from local shelter unless I can find a corgi to adopt ( had a stroke and can’t care for a dog right now
Update on husky?
@@anniejefferson7329 He got adopted!!
What a doll the black and white dog is. How could anyone give her up. I'd take her in a minute.
Me too exactly!! 💕🐾🐾💕
Finally just one pup was left and of course my husband walks in our house with the last pup that we had spent so much time with
❤🙂❤
God Bless!❤🙌❤
I'm so happy their are great dogs lovers out there in the world ,we taken in 15 dog ourselves 20 acres fence in land for them to play in . Yes expensive but well worth it ,from sad dogs to happy loved friends .
I wish I could travel to California and adopt that malamute and bring him back to Maine. Malamute huskies are amazing dogs. I had a Shepard husky mix years ago. They are such loving dogs. That malamute was sure showing his loving side to you.
Can't a shelter dog be transported, or would that cost too much?
Reach out to Hoardin’ Huskies. They transport a lot. I don’t know how far they go.
I agree. I’m in Minnesota and he’d love it here. If I could, I’d love to adopt him.
Don't take offence, but malamutes and huskies are two different breeds.
Aussies are the best!
Great initiative. Very kind and considerate to comfort shelter dogs. In India, there are hardly any shelters, whatever is there have horrific and inhuman condutions for animals. Makes my heart break.
Btw great background music in the beginning of the video.
I love the little black and white dog. I think she is on the window ledge looking for her owner. ❤️🐾
@sbkhider So sorry for your loss. I'm sure Archer felt your love & you did your best. Condolences❤️🩹
Thank you so much for yr love and care on the fur babies❤bless you
Thanks for being an earth angel to these beautiful fur babies ❤️
HOW MUCH IS THAT DOGGIE IN THE WINDOW was my favorite song when I was little while imagining asking my dad to get me that doggie. I sing it every single day, will even ask my mom to sing along with me.
You are such a nice person for helping all of the dogs
I adopted a dog who’s been rescued out of a puppy mill/byb with 500 other dogs. When we got to know him in the shelter. He was scared of every movement or sound. Now (only 5 months) he’s the most cuddly, cheeky, silly boy ever! His tail wags 24/7 and he’s the sweetest boy ever! We have a behavioral expert who comes by, the last time she was here she was amazed by the progress he’s made. So proud of my boy Flynn❤☺️
I hate how Rocky makes me fall in love with every single one of these dogs. They're all beatiful and deserve a loving home
Just came across this today. That malamute reminds me so much of my boy (I found him on the street, eating out of a dumpster), I’d drive to socal tomorrow to adopt him if that were still an option. Looks like he found a forever home with one of the shelter volunteers. I’m happy for him.
Rocky I'm sure you are very rewarded visiting shelter dogs. I personally would probably cry every time when I got home doing what you do.
Sometimes I do. I don't put that on camera though cause I ugly cry. But wow it's worth it.
@@rockykanakayou my man are big hearted.
You are giving so much help to these dogs by loosening their fears and givind them some love :) I'm glad people like you exist
I just love Paige. She needs lots of hugs and cuddles.
I love the little ones that were cuddled up together ❤
You not only heal dogs Rocky, but people get healed from trama just watching you heal dogs.❤
They are all so precious!!! I want to save all of them!!!
16:25 - aww, that is so cute. Malamute a lap dog.
That sweet malamute seems like she's looking for someone specific. She's not scared of humans; she's just anxious about hers being gone. ❤
The world is full of loving people and puppies.
I adopted a dog that had been in the shelter for over two years. It took me another two years of work to be able to get him ready for dog camp. He had a great time. It made all the work worth it.
@kristenbonds2135 Big cheers for you! Hard work - big reward ! Big thx ! 🧡
She jumped to the window, cause with further 'sight', there's further hope to feel. God Bless this little one!❤❤❤❤❤
@DeniseEggertwaterlily The variety takes its name from the Mechelen region (called Malines in French), where it was the predominant coat type used by the local shepherds
1956 the current breed standard was adopted and it specified the four varieties known today; the Groenendael, Laekenois, Malinois and Tervuren.

God bless savers and the lovely dog,
All that Malamute wants is to be loved.
It's nice to see good news today!! The world needs it.
i wish i had the capabilities to do what you do,you make me smile, cry and wish,i wish they all could find forever homes that treat them the way all dogs should be treated,my dog is 16 and 6,the senior dog was raised on my farm, the little dog whose younger was given to me as a birthday gift by my daughter..My husband died and my son moved me close to him,i do not drive,i need eye surgery, but i would give up anything i own to help just one,ty for what you do
Every dog deserves love and a home to call their own
I don’t think she is just scared. She is waiting for her owner and don’t want to miss her. That why she is glued to the window.
So sad right?
tragic
IN love with the malamute!❤❤❤
❤❤❤ Rosie congratulations ❤❤❤ Puppy congratulations. Always great to see you and the pups getting adopted ❤❤❤
