    Scott because of your unselfish efforts this has been the most widely viewed Kilauea eruption in history.

    Hi Scott, It's nice you took Charles along with you. This video was like a night mare, and the road was freaky. It was sad seeing that statute sitting alone in that yard.I still can't believe how bad that road was.Thanks for taking us along.

    As always, Scott, your video ends up making it so much more real than the ones where the videographer is concentrating only on the dramatic. My heart goes out to the people whose homes are underneath all that, or next to it and heavily damaged.

    The chair, the awesome zooms, #8 (big daddy), so much to take in. So glad your able to get there and show us all this. Amazing

    Oh wow....the chair...LOL. Great video. (We know what you're tryin to say, lol). Combined with all of your earlier videos this should be the stuff of a serious documentary about what happened. I got a chill seeing that house still standing in what is now F8's back yard. (Hi Charles)

    Awesome shots. Not sure if you have the ability but it would be cool if you could put a little road map in the corner with a dot on it showing where you are standing relative to the Fissur in each shot. You would get the most views ever if you started doing that

    Hi Scott and Charles
    Thank you for another amazing video. After seeing the damage to the house with the water pitcher, I don't see how any of the residents will be able to move back to their homes. The corrosion to the nails and supports and wires would be difficult to see and dangerous.

    • @DebMeyer-qh9ml

      We never even considered that the sulfur would have such a long lasting effect and permeate everything or be as corrosive as it is. This has been a great learning experience for my husband and me. Mahalo Scott for all you have shown us.

    Wow, Scott. This is so neat yet so sad to see all the devastation and so much lava! That house you showed at the start was probably the closest house to #8 still standing. That might be uninhabitable. It's really amazing to see the outcome around #8! The cracks in the road are so big and extend a good distance. That deep hole was really eerie to see. Oh boy! How terrible the damage is! Are you able to find the lone tree and see where it is streetwise? That would be neat to see. Thank you, Scott, for exploring! It is really amazing seeing things after the eruption. Very interesting. You take care! Til soon! ~ Barb :-) ♡

    Incredible...just incredible....I wish the cones and cracks would stop steaming. Is one of those smaller cones #7? The one that kept "spitting" so much gas when 22(?) was so active?

    • @marenpurves2406
      @marenpurves2406 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is likely to take years for thick lava to cool down enough for it to not steam anymore after it was raining - but I don't know how much rain there was in that area, and when.

    • @4TIMESAYEAR
      @4TIMESAYEAR 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree it takes a while to cool, but I don't think all of the steam is from the cooling process - I think that coming from the cones and fissures is from volcanic processes; it's not the lava field; it's the source.

      I don't believe so, he was on the opposite end of Leilani Estates. The dog house house (where the shipping container was) is covered with lava and the pig house is surrounded by lava. It would be too dangerous to reach either area.

    Bet you can't wait to be able to actually walk up fissure 8 when it's safe to do so, bet you'd get a great view from up there.

    At 5:18 to 5:22, there looks like a white statue of St. Anthony de Padua standing. Did it interest you by checking it out?

    At about 50 seconds in or so, & viewing on my only device, ( 2 1/4" wide android screen ) those 2 barricades w/flashers atop appeared to me to be 2 geese afloat on almost boiling water. Our geese are flying south now with winter coming quickly though it is possible that some may decide to winter in Hawaii for a change of pace...Best get those flashers operating in case their vision is failing as is mine.

    Would love to see someone now do Before and After shots of many of the areas where you were videotaping in the beginning!

      Your new camera equipment is great. You still pan a little quick for my eyes to follow....sometimes. Not all the time. Chair! Scott's leg! (You tease, you. Smile.) No...no fast zoom. Could see Mauna Loa on medium zoom...then whoosh! It was gone.

    Chair, yup I remember. As for Moneloah, you couldn't see because of trees before the eruption.
