This is the EXACT reason why my tuner has a Valet mode. if i have to drop it off anywhere for someone else to move i put it into Valet mode and take out the tuner so it cant be changed. It puts it into a forced limp mode. wont go over 1500 rpm, wont get out of 2nd gear and wont go over 50mph, vanes in turbo stay open so it wont build boost either. Sorry to hear man, people are kids when they see something nice and get a chance to touch it

I took my truck to a shop once, while the guy was working on it another guy was checking it out, I was outside so they didn't see me and the garage door was open, but I heard one them say " damn man, let's go racing". when you look in my engine bay and interior you can see the truck is modded. luckily I wasn't leaving the truck with them, but that was the last time my truck was at a shop.

I totally get it man I hate leaving my truck anywhere or letting someone drive it not knowing how to drive a turbo engine. Reving the motor under the limiter should not hurt your motor though. I tow with mine and have to get in the higher rpms to get the power I need to pull hills and such. If my truck breaks I want it to be parts wearing out or my fault not someone else mistreating it.

For what it's worth, armor all will end up accelerating the drying out and cracking of your dash. The best option is one of the dash covers so it blocks the sun from the plastic. My idea to fix my cracked dash is use it as a mold to lay up my own custom carbon fiber dash.

Sub guard screen things (idk official name) are worth every penny. Peace of mind that nobody's gonna throw a heal threw your sub or somethin fallin on em.

Whenever you take your vehicle to get work done etc. Make sure you have a dash cam that runs all the time and records the road and the compartment. make sure to tell them it is on 24/7.

happened to my dad's truck also they put a new turbo compressor wheel and reved the fuck out of it. and he took it to a shop where they used it as a grocery getter and who knows what else he did. we never let any1 touch it now it's one of kind truck that know 1 else can replicate.

I've got a small dent in my near-mint chrome rear bumper. I'm torn between; not wanting to create more landfill waste if buying a new one, and trying to take it to a body shop and getting the dent fixed. Also the fact that if I buy a new bumper there will be 1 less in the world for someone in the future to have.
Man, I really wish i had thought of suggesting it earlier, but you should have tried figure out a way to load a custom tune or have a key made to put it in valet mode so it cant go past 20mph or high rpms.

Some fucker in my high school thought it would be cute to get in and start my 6.0 powerstroke when I wasn't there, he was one of my friends So he knew were I kept my spare keys. He thought it would be cool to do a burnout with my brand new nitto mud grapplers in the school parking lot after a football game, I ended up being just in time when I saw him putting my truck back when I was just entering to parking lot with a buddy in his car. I went to my truck and asked him what he was doing and he said a ball went under there and I didn't believe him. Next thing I know I was putting my stuff in my truck and I smell burnt tire smoke. I felt the back of my back tires and they were still warm and they didn't have a lot of tread left. Need less to say I made the kid explain to my parents what happen and he had to buy me new tires. I swear people don't know how to respect other people things. They think since they don't have to pay for it they can destroy it. 😡 still mad to this day about what he did.
Ive spent double what youve spent and more than double the hours of my truck. I basically put it to the test every time I am in it. I run it hard at some point every time I drive it. Never had an issue. So i would know that they couldn't be any harder on my truck than I am myself.

dude I had to get emissions for the first time in my new place last year at some close diesel shop, I got there early and everything. homeboy jumps in my truck rolls it up on the dyno straps it down all half ass, then just straight nails it loads the dyno up "runs his test" then dumps the throttle and barked the living shit outta the poor thing. then comes back and says "you didn't pass" but you can come back for free 🖕 and didn't even tell me what power it made on a dyno hit not an emissions test… feel your pain man!

I know exactly how you feel. The good news, if you can look at it this way, is that the Cummins diesel is one of the toughest motors ever made. It is not a delicate flower that is ready to lose its petals at any given point. It's not. While the act was foolish and whatever else you want to call it, the Cummins engine can withstand much harsher treatment than what it experienced.

What second gen you suggest gas or diesel, i only tow sometimes and nothing heavy like a regular car on trailer once every two months.
Always diesel haha you never know how heavy your next trailer will be and you will have that peace of mind if you need to tow heavier in the future

Make the VPC write out a report on what happened and when you get your truck back make a claim that your injectors, turbo or some expensive parts went out because of their negligent behavior of processing your truck

cho2442 lift cost about $100 to ship, and rims and tires I got from 4wheelparts
I mean shipping home when you eas through the company I know it cost extra if your truck is lifted and has bigger tires on it

I've got a small dent in my near-mint chrome rear bumper. I'm torn between; not wanting to create more landfill waste if buying a new one, and trying to take it to a body shop and getting the dent fixed. Man, I really wish i had thought of suggesting it earlier, but you should have tried figure out a way to load a custom tune or have a key made to put it in valet mode so it cant go past 20mph or high rpms.

Dude I was kinda in the same problem as you. Some fucker in my high school thought it would be cute to get in and start my 6.0 powerstroke when I wasn't there, he was one of my friends So he knew were I kept my spare keys. He thought it would be cool to do a burnout with my brand new nitto mud grapplers in the school parking lot after a football game, I ended up being just in time when I saw him putting my truck back when I was just entering to parking lot with a buddy in his car. I went to my truck and asked him what he was doing and he said a ball went under there and I didn't believe him. Next thing I know I was putting my stuff in my truck and I smell burnt tire smoke. I felt the back of my back tires and they were still warm and they didn't have a lot of tread left. Need less to say I made the kid explain to my parents what happen and he had to buy me new tires. I swear people don't know how to respect other people things. They think since they don't have to pay for it they can destroy it. 😡 still mad to this day about what he did.
Ive spent double what youve spent and more than double the hours of my truck. I basically put it to the test every time I am in it. I run it hard at some point every time I drive it. Never had an issue. So i would know that they couldn't be any harder on my truck than I am myself.

dude I had to get emissions for the first time in my new place last year at some close diesel shop, I got there early and everything. homeboy jumps in my truck rolls it up on the dyno straps it down all half ass, then just straight nails it loads the dyno up "runs his test" then dumps the throttle and barked the living shit outta the poor thing. then comes back and says "you didn't pass" but you can come back for free 🖕 and didn't even tell me what power it made on a dyno hit not an emissions test… feel your pain man!
If they would have done that with my car I would have went off, I have watched your videos for a while now and know how much you care about your truck. I'm sorry this happened to you man.

This is why i dont trust anyone, last time i let an oil change guy at the jiffy lube drive my truck into the bay he damn near burnt my clutch out after he stalled it twice but he assured me he could drive a manual.

I had some guys do that to my first gen cummins at a tire shop when i was getting a new set of tires. Needless to say i got half off the total bill because i was flipping shit!!

this may just be who I am but I think you acted appropriately. I have literally the same exact truck except it's the Laramie tow package not the sport and I would have flipped shit. I have an extremely bad temper and they would've never forgotten me lol. can't believe they would do that. especially to a military man of all people
I know exactly how you feel. The good news, if you can look at it this way, is that the Cummins diesel is one of the toughest motors ever made. It is not a delicate flower that is ready to lose its petals at any given point. It's not. While the act was foolish and whatever else you want to call it, the Cummins engine can withstand much harsher treatment than what it experienced.
