This song gets even better, when you realize that she was making actual references to the lore. "Days and nights of venom and blood" is a reference to the turmoil before the founding of the empire. That phrase is found in A brief history of the empire v1. "A serpent lights the ancient skies, a threat of tainted stars." A reference to the Regaurd creation myth, that the stars were guideposts for spirits attempting to escape being eaten by a giant snake named "Satakal." "Tower of gold." White gold tower, of course. The center of the imperial city. "Heroes will rise as the anchors fall. " Obviously referring to the portals to Coldharbour. "Beauty of Dawn." Tamriel means "Dawn's beauty" in the language of the elves. I'm sure there are others.
AmazingGaming No, this was written by Malukah. It even says so in the description, Zenimax asked her to write a song and she did. Then, they put it in the end credits. Just to be thorough, I also checked to see if there was an "original" version of this song, and there isn't. This is the first.
It's been years since I heard this, but suddenly that line about drums at 2:31 popped into my head and I just spent the last hour trying to find it again. worth it
I was playing ESO the other day and I came across a bard singing and I said to myself, hey I know that voice! I instantly knew it was you and I went and stood near the bard until the song was over. I'm glad to know your beautiful voice is in this wonderful game :) I love your work
+JoschiChr Pretty much every single thing in this song and most others songs are all references which makes this beautiful and epic song so much more. There is nothing better ;)
+Tak'len, The Elven Ranger The altmer first named Tamriel-starry heart which translates to dawn's beauty, then somebody, probably the nords renamed it. There isn't really much to it. :)
Whenever I listen to any of your songs I get transported to a different, more innocent place where temporarily my problems don't matter. You have a beautiful voice and don't let anyone tell you different. I wish I had half the talent you do.
I'm all serious, Zenimax and Bethesda should pay you for all these videos. They are so damn excellent that far beyond the "Fan works". And, I think it will be nice to make a NPC called Malukah in a tavern in the middle of Cyrodiil where all players from all 3 factions can enter, peacefully, sit around the hearth, listening to the songs regardless of the pain and hatred. That'll be nice.
+苏昊 They actually did commission her to write and perform this and several other songs for ESO. Basically someone at bethesda saw her amazing skyrim covers and was like "We need to hire this girl!" so they did.

MsLindsVlog Not just her voice -- she is also Super Smart, Funny, and Beautiful. You know what I got? I got a big nose, and I can smell stuff from far away -- that's all I got. Where do I file my complaint? LOL
It's funny how she say: "Thank you for watching" at the end of the song, and yet she´s the one making our day brighter. It's incredible how something this beautiful can also be for free to us to enjoy. Thank you Malukah for making this world a better place
Malukah, your music is legendary. The more I listen to it, the better it gets. Something about it just gives a surreal feeling while still staying true to the subject matter. Truly beautiful.

Ghengis Juan Hehe! I still can't believe I got a chance to work with them on ESO. So grateful to them and to you guys for the support that made it possible! Thank you so, so much for stopping by again to re-listen. My best wishes from Mexico!
Wow...I love it when you click on a random video not thinking much of it but to pass boredom and time and then you stumble upon a hidden gem. I think it may be mostly due to the generic electronic, auto tune bullshit they release these days and call music. Your music is pure and very acoustical. Keep it up.
Malukah Malukah просмотрел множество роликов в исполнении песни Dragonborn ты самая лучшая в исполнении спасибо тебе получил массу удовольствия. Привет тебе из России
While I fully agree with the sentiment, I find it hard to say this is a 'hidden' gem. Most of us discovered Malukah from her first Skyrim cover, and have been madly in love with her music ever since. That aside, she was officially hired by Zenimax to do official Elder Scrolls bard songs! But I'll give you the 'hidden' in the sense that her main fanbase is probably Elder Scrolls fans, so if someone has nothing to do with those, they probably aren't getting enough Malukah in their lives.
I am still brought to tears by your voice and the song whenever I hear it. The words are so longing for hope and the melody is so mournful that I can't help but feel like I am myself a person of Tamriel hoping for the horrors of the Plane Meld to end. There is nothing quite like your music and it's ability to make me TRULY feel from the bottom of my soul. Thank you.
This song is absolutely epic. When you listen to this song and close your eyes it opens a part in your soul that gives you inner peace and tranquillity. Keep going. You rock
This song brings me back to when i was in the best eso guild that ever existed and we kicked every trials ass, good times, i cry everytime i think about the goof times we had, and this song brings back all those memories
Definitely one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard! The tender emotions of Malukah's vocal harmonies pour forth like soft velvet, transporting the listener to the realm of Skyrim's magical world! Truly this girl's remarkable talent was meant to enhance the experience of an ethereal dream known as Tamriel.
I've listened countless hours to this beautiful voice in taverns and next to bards, the community around these games is what it makes come alive , thank you for all you do bringing this beautiful world alive.
This is my favorite song my Malukah that I have heard to date. Great voice. Great production skills. Great songwriter. So superior to what is considered popular music today.
+Malukah goosebumps all over me, your songs are the best ones i have heard in a long time, i always spend my time in taver in davon's watch, listening to the bard, its like magic, i can sit there for hours
After being constantly being barraged by stupid generic club music, with random "artists" singing about how much money they have and how great they are, listening to something like this reminds me music can actually be a tool of beauty and creating music can be more about making money or getting popularity. It can be creating breathtaking a piece of art. In equal parts skillful, impressive, meaningful and passionate. A true pleasure to listen to. Keep up the amazing work :)

I feel as if I owe you an apology for not having subscribed after all this time. I have no idea what I've been doing. Without your voice and your music, ESO's Tamriel would have been missing a part of it so important that we'd notice an empty space but never know what was supposed to fill it. I hope more developers of games, writers of stories and builders of worlds seek your help in the future. Keep doing what you're doing, Malukah.
I was so excited by this that I felt it necessary to post something. I had just bought ESO a week ago and as I'm walking past the crafting stations in Skyshard. I hear a voice, this oh so distinct voice that couldn't be missed. I stopped dead in my tracks to find the bard singing it. Sat down, and have been listening to all of Malukah's videos since, again. Never before has a song justified a game purchase for me but Malukah's amazing voice made it worth every penny to unexpectedly hear it in this game. I am so glad your talent was recognized, Malukah, and utilized in this game.
By the Greybeards she answered a comment. Have you come to hear the words of Talos?!... :) Though seriously love your songs/covers - Friendly greetings from a huge fan :)
"Spirits pace...through the shadows cast by their graves" That line makes me chill everytime. Amazing. Simply amazing. Your voice is a gift from God himself :)
The valley of field in torrent war, With battered shield and rageful more. A valiant soul or a valiant taint, That deceive the world, with oncoming saint. Perceive from shadow of brighter light, That burn the men with hideous blight. For heroes merge and villains to long, That ripe to claim, the Beauty of Dawn.
Well, it's not very common to comment videos on youtube for me but this one certainly deserves one. And Although I've never played any part of The Elder Scrolls, as a Live-action-role-player, every fantasy themed song is a matter of heart for me, so I heard (and even played :-) ) quite a lot of those and yours are around the very top, probably even the best of it :-) (but you know, it's so hard to decide). I especially appreciate the sheer purity of your voice which I definitely consider as the best. I wanted to say something just as I heard The Dragonborn Comes and later The Age of Oppression but The Beauty of dawn finally overcame my laziness :-). Ever thought about participating as a bard on any LARP action?
+Epifairos Thank you so much for what you wrote. I know friends that participate in LARPs and have always wanted to try this. :D It makes me so happy that you like the music!!!!
I have known your channel for years but never actualy checked it out. I regret that since i found something sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good
That was her first cover I think, plus Miraak you only like it because it's about you, a Dragonborn.Sincerely, Keel-Za-Lott, Argonian badass and cleanser of Skyrim and Cyrodill.I have too much time to make backstories etc.
This song makes me think of my dad whom I lost back in December of 2016. Helps give me comfort on a level that I can't really put into words. So thank you very much for having written it, and allowed me to relive some fond memories of him that I have had.
No matter how long it's been, I come back to this song near constantly. It was just a perfect song to end the game on, and lead into Craglorn. If I'm role-playing in a sad scene, this will always be a go to
***** Goddamn if any of the Elder Scrolls games were judged purely on how they were when they were first released it would be a miracle they ever got anywhere with the series. I cannot count the number of bugs and glitches and just outright broken mechanics that I've encountered across Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim combined but they've ALWAYS fixed those issues.
***** Maybe because when people buy the game, they want finished produckt, not some unfinished, buggy crap. So, if people are too quick to label, how much do they have to wait for the game to be good?
***** I'm only going to say this: A MMO is not a standard game. Definitely a horse of a different color. They release buggy because there is so much that can go wrong. A regular ass game now days, is not what they used to be. They used to release and that was it. It was complete and full. With DLC this has made many developers lazy. But that's the digital era. We can't do much about it. Bitching and complaining isn't going to change what the standard has become.
People expected too much from ESO. You cannot make a game like Oblivion, Skyrim, Etc a MMO and expect it to be exactly the same. It's a perfectly fine Elder Scrolls game. It's just not the same as Single Player Elder Scrolls game, and it never should be. You can't be immersed in a game with someone with the name of yomommaisfat25 and take it seriously. It's exactly why we don't really have a good horror mmo. You can't be scared of something if someone is standing next to you with a name like swagtigolbiddies666 It's not going to fucking happen. People need to think about what is realistic and what is not. This isn't table top D&D where you can look the person in the face and tell them they're acting ridiculous. You can't properly sneak and be a thief and insta-gib someone else's npc in the face with an arrow like you can in a single player mode. It has lore, it has music, it has armor and skills, it has monsters, vampires and werewolves. It doesn't have the immersion and freedom that would be achieved in a single player game. The anti social nature of a single player game is what GIVES the immersion.
A voice made of silk, and intertwined with a lute, with enough power to draw even the angriest beast back to reality. I cannot, and will not stop listening to this masterpiece. My daughter begs to hear this at least 30 times a day, and I must finally say thank you, as 4 years later, she continues to listen to this with me, every day.
I'm still watching this video regularly as we approach Christmas in 2017. Every single time I watch, it brings me to tears. The amazing lyrics that so eloquently paint the scene of bravery against insurmountable evil and despair, coupled with malukah's beautiful angelic vocals moves me every time I watch. This is your finest work malukah, and I thank you for blessing us with your talent, you are such a beautiful and interesting woman. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas, and continue to provide us with music in the future!.

Friend, the snake can also be a reference to the constellation Serpent!
"the drum of war"

+AlphaleaderGaming That means a lot to me! Thank you. :) It was a big honor to get to write this!!!
+Malukah your welcome. It is truly amazing I listen to it a few times a week. It gives me chills with how good it is

I'm so happy you and your boyfriend like this and the other Skyrim songs! Thank you!!!!!
By the Greybeards she answered a comment. Have you come to hear the words of Talos?!... :) Though seriously love your songs/covers - Friendly greetings from a huge fan :)
2021st. I'm with MALU !!! An ordinary Russian man !!! I love your divine voice !!!
She is GOD LIKE! like an enchantment
Chills. Down my back!
In ESO, there should be a sort of " Legendary Bard" that uses malukah's voice. Also, in my opinion, her voice is the real dovahkiin.
ikr
She *is* the voice of at least one in-game bard. :P
10 years have passed, but I remember everything like yesterday....
wow you have a gift pls continue with your music ;)
Are you a Angel, greatest voice of this Universe .-)
Thank you Malukah :D Always Loved your voice and videos.
"Spirits pace...through the shadows cast by their graves"
That line makes me chill everytime. Amazing. Simply amazing.
Your voice is a gift from God himself :)
Pumped up for the beta weekend... can't wait.
I knew I heard this song in an inn in the Aldmeri area!
The valley of field in torrent war,
With battered shield and rageful more.
A valiant soul or a valiant taint,
That deceive the world, with oncoming saint.
Perceive from shadow of brighter light,
That burn the men with hideous blight.
For heroes merge and villains to long,
That ripe to claim, the Beauty of Dawn.
No matter how many times I listen to your songs, I can never get over how beautiful your voice is.
What a blessed voice. Ya deffenetly fit into sutch songs very great.
so beautiful :)
***Beauty of Dawn***
“These are days and nights of venom and blood
Heroes will rise as the anchors fall”
In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written. You are both a truly great composer and singer, Malukah
You get them back once you kill him. As well as a few more, I got eleven more.
You have so much talent at singing! Your beautiful aswell, malukah! This is my fave song you have sung so far.
This song makes me think of my dad whom I lost back in December of 2016. Helps give me comfort on a level that I can't really put into words. So thank you very much for having written it, and allowed me to relive some fond memories of him that I have had.
OMG, I`m in love!!!!!
David Wiita
If I met her I wouldn't know what to say, just stare in awe.
Or listen rather...
Yerachmiel Harris She is very shy in person. I think it would be an awful lot of awkward staring lol
Yerachmiel Harris or both....
I would know exactly what to say
Pls sing me a song :D
Am i the only one who believes that she and Miracle of sound should do an awesome collaboration ?
They already have ^^ Look up Legends of the Frost ^^
+csaadelbo watched it though. some pretty good Song
Indeed :) But they could do with a new song, they work really well together.
csaadelbo
E3 is coming. Maybe at the new Elder Scrolls ?
No matter how long it's been, I come back to this song near constantly. It was just a perfect song to end the game on, and lead into Craglorn.
If I'm role-playing in a sad scene, this will always be a go to
Why so many people saying ESO is bad? Its awesome! Like this music.
Saint-Gnome Cult It's a good MMO, but not a good Elder Scrolls game.
Talos must have ascended to godhood by singing like she does. Her voice compensates for the subscription model.
Subscription based MMOs are waaaaayyy better in consistent quality. Better overall for the price, so quit yer grumbling.
Braeden Weibel
Although to be honest the amount of subscription model mmos who's had to go f2p due to a lack of quality is....considerable.
The hell do i care about the other MMOs. This is TES. Zenimax does not have the rights to defecate on one of the best game franchises there is.
best song of TESO, capturing the feel of the game :)
massta7
when a singer can bring emotion to and give it you know they'll go far and inspire so many
if elves existed, you'd be one of them
She'd play a better Arwen than Liv Tyler. xD
The thalmor manipulates Ulfic...
Aldmeri's Scum... she´s a true daughter of Skyrim...
@@danziker shut up, hell-spawn of Lorkhan
She would indeed, but one from Middle earth, Rivendell or something
Hail, friend! May the bards of Soverngarde itself tremble in your wake, Sing on!
Tamriel= Dawn's Beauty
Very nice! I love the feel of this one :)
I know that feel bro XD but yea true she has a Beautiful voice
Brandon Waite Indeed THIS VOICE is AWESOME ,,,
Please, make the "Ragnar the red"!

Love Chills On Skyrim And Oblivion By Listening To Your Amazing Voice It's Skooma To My Ears :D
I wouldn't pour Skooma down your ears if I were you though.
