@@Super_GT I heard some 4-strokes in this video and that makes my heart happy. The second the call goes out I'm on a plane over there. Been itching to get back into karts, it's been like 8 years :P
There is a special something to be fast in the wet, not everyone finds it, or has it. You got it Steve. Well done. I did a 6hr enduro on the weekend that was wet and dry mixed weather, loved the wet stints, I did 3hrs of it in the wet, and fastest in class and 3rd outright in lap times in the wet. Wet rocks
I wish we had actual karting tracks here in California! It’d easily be my new hobby. Also Super GT, I just want to say thank you for being there for me. Your videos have really helped me out, I’m not in the best place mentally at the moment and watching your videos kinda gives me a break from reality. I never thought I’d end up loving motorsports as much as I do, believe it or not I was actually an American football player and wrestler back in my schooling days, my dad always hated cars so I’ve never really had the opportunity to appreciate them for what they are. You helped me find a new hobby and I praise you for that! Never under estimate how much your fans care about you and your videos.
I remember going karting for first time was awesome went with friends and smashed everyone was to see who could do most laps kn a certain time I done 37 and everyone else done 34 35 was buzzing with myself but wasnt into racing at the time. Wish I could do it properly like racing racing taking the proper lines and stuff be pretty sick glad I found this channel just looking back at your karting vids
The reason why the different racing line in the wet is quicker is because of rubber on the normal racing line. the rubber will let off a little bit of oil so when it starts raining it will be really slippery. eventually it will wash out but if it just starts raining then its better to brake of racing line :D
Did a pay and drive(30 mins)at this track a few years back, there was only me and my son on track. It was awesome I got lapped twice and had to pull off for a rest twice....lol Best bit was there was no lugging because there’s no real slow corners.
Hey Steve just coming back to this video as I drove in the wet for the first time today in my junior rotax and wow it is such a good experience especially at clay when it was so foggy and raining 👍
Hey @Super GT, I got a tip for driving an X30 Kart. The thing is that the moment you slow the kart down into braking, it starts to bog a lot (at low revs), so when I was karting in this beast, I used to brake as late as possible and get back on the throttle bit earlier than the apex (to keep the revs high which helps reduce the bogging). Hope this helps😃
Wow that was so interesting AND impressive. GG dude!! And this is so beautiful to see those drifted lines under rain conditions... I cannot avoid to think at Senna and how OUT OF THIS WORLD he was under the rain...... This is so an impressive moment to watch great drivers under rain! KEEP IT UP SUPERGT!!!!!👍 Big salut from France 🙋♂️ Vinz.
Yeah, I was shocked to find out that was real as well. Supposedly, that technique is the reason the Nurburgring Karussells are the way the are, so it's quite an old technique as well.
The Caracciola Karussel is named after Rudolph Caracciola who ran two wheels in the drainage ditch to take the corner faster. Other drivers followed his line and eventually the ditch was concreted and became a permanent feature. It’s still the highlight of the lap for me, but man is it bumpy irl
Yh, so in turn 2, Christmas and the boot you have to hook your wheels a round the kerb to get a faster time, BTW im still so excited I WAS THE NO. 26 CROC IN THR BEGINNING OF THE VIDEO!!!!
Hello Super GT, I am a OK Senior driver at international level, as you probably know, the curves go up with a consistent uphill and then has a drop. If you manage to put the tyres on the drop you get a lot more grip and can carry much more speed.
You're so lucky to not have had Whilton Mill in the rain for 10 years. The first time I went it was raining and Christmas corner was absolutely dreadful.
I remeber going to that track with bording school in like 2010.. i was ten.. the other boys and girls all older and i got the second best rental kart time of the day👍👍 good times

Nice! The X30 is getting pretty close to the KF2 I'm familiar with. Dunno which karburator and limiter there's on it. I think KF2 was 38HP when I drove it, not 100% on that. Such a shame that it had to rain. Not what you're looking for when stretching your legs in a new kart. Hope you enjoyed it and that you're able to try again with better weather.
