Steve deserved at least a top three based on the heat performances but it's the luck of the draw sometimes.
From an outsider who doesn't know anything about karting aside from what I've learn from this channel. I personally think it's a disgrace that such karts like the last one exist. I don't understand how you can have a competitive division if that division is purely random because of chance.
@@Kyle_Hubbard Mate, this isn't some super-funded top of the line karting competition. They're rental karts, shit happens to them and they aren't always gonna have the same pace. If you'd like to fund the maintenance of the karts because it's such a "disgrace" then either get to it or move along, because these are home-grown racing scenes that don't have the time or the care to worry about opinions of the likes of you.

Probably because he did the 200 laps on GT sport which doesn't have a damage model hence no chance of mechanical trouble. Karting on the other hand involves real karts that need maintenance. I'm probably gonna get whooshed as the millenials put it 😂😂

It's not the right mindset to have for what is essentially rental karts with a league. No two rental karts are the same, even in Club100. He's not the only one out there with the problem, so he just looks silly being the only one giving up.

My first time karting I went through the tyre wall and broke the visor of the helmet. It was a dry track that had puddles on and 12 year old me didn’t realise the difference that a wet track would have on slicks. 🤦🏻♂️😂

When you have a certain ability, a certain skill that's above or bette than most others, avoiding obstacles in an almost miraculous way is just your karma and instinctive knowledge that guide your path and make you glide through any nastivities. I'm not saying you're extra special, just saying you're a driver who's "got it". You're good, plain and simple. It's like goal-getters being in the right spot at the right time. It's not magic, it's instinct. Those guys unconsioncly know where the ball is gonna be. Great drivers know where the obstacles are and instinctively avoid them. I might have scrunched-up a few words here and there. After all, I'm from Belgium and English is my fourth language. My twenty-first after a few Jack-Daniel's. Always a pleasure to see you drive my man. Cheerio.

Been there before, Qualified 3rd best out of 50ish cars at a national USAC race on a 1/2mile dirt oval at Manzanita Speedway, started 4th in the main just to drop all the way to 24th by lap 6 because we completely, missed the setup. It is very frustrating and I understand your pain!

Totally understanding the rage quit. Although I have never quit, I know and hate the feeling when your kart is just slower, although you as a driver are not. It really sucks. Good job in the other races, well done! By the way, in the beginning I thought you had finally got your Arai painted.... May I suggest purple :D sorry for the pun. But Hamilton also has a purple helmet. It also shows up in f1 TV interface when the sector time is the fastest.
I’ve been in that position and actually quit a race when I was no longer able to keep up (engine started losing power during the race). People thought I had rage quit, but I had informed the officials that my engine was failing.
At the time, I was throwing my neck brace and gloves in anger which was why people thought I was rage quitting.
Ah that was hard to watch at the end. You was doing so well throughout the last sessions. I normally stay silent but I'm speaking up now, I like watching your videos and your commentary keeps me entertained defiantly have the nac for it. I'd love to cart with you one day. Even looked at club 100 site but couldn't find much. Done lots of carting and I was in nolimits endurance racing and was sponsored.

i used to race here a lot and ued to love the late braking moves into christmas corner. It's hard to tell from the video but as you say it's uphill which means you can brake later than you'd expect so it can cause some people to brake too early making it an ideal overtaking place. Hope i can race there again soon!
just to be clear, it was due to the kart right? cuz he said it when he got into the 2nd kart that it was also insanely slow, but then towards the end it sounded like he gave himself to blame which i dont really understand, from what i saw you couldnt do anything about it steve, just a bad kart : (
I didn't understand that as well. At the moment he says that his pace was off, and that it wasn't his day, he gets overtaken on a straight quite fast. Looked to me like his kart was just slower than the others.
@@jonas_security_kolinski I'm pretty sure he is taking the cart into consideration when he said his pace is off. It wasn't his day because he got a slow cart.
that's the thing. That's why the anger. He knows he has the talent to be there, he didn't have the pace, because the car didn't have the pace in it.

To me, more people should do what you did here Steve. If the car isn't up to the task, and you know it, get off the track before you cause an accident and get someone hurt. Especially when you know you don't stand a chance in hates of finishing inside the top 10.

As you're aware rentals aren't created equal. I was in a crap kart and heavily relying on defense. Second place kept attempting to ram me into a dragon back. Finally tired of it all I brake heavy before the turn in and he sent himself to the shadow realm because I wasn't there for him to ram. I dont loose my position and finish the race. We get back to pit and he has everything under the sun to say while everyone who witnessed it was laughing. Those moments are always glorious.

Yeah, I never really want to do that. I half did it in the final but only really blocked at Christmas. Once the first guy got through there was no point in ruining everyones race from there.
Was really happy seeing you winning there. And that damn final race... You can do only that much when the machine is faulty.
