Let’s be real, if you’re smart, you’re not working at any of those dinosaur companies. You want to work at TESLA. If you can’t understand this, then you’re probably not competent enough to get a job at Tesla.
Let’s face it, everyone so v wanted an ev (early adopters & fan boys) already bought them and most have seen the highs and lows of living with an ev long term. 95% of those same people have a gas powered back up/alternative vehicle in their house hold. Very few only own a single or two ev’s as their daily drives without any issues. They also have the most critical thing, a house/garage and private driveway or assigned parking spot for charging those vehicles. The rest won’t buy evs for lack of the same. Anybody can own an internal combustion engine vehicle since they don’t need to live near their source of fuel thus more flexibility as parking isn’t an issue. You have to religiously babysit an ev. Must plug it in once you get home & let it charge for a few hours so everything including going to visit family/friend outside of your home overnight or a few days requiring extra steps planning the journey. There are places you can’t take that vehicle due to range anxiety with lack of charging infrastructure. Imagine going to rural areas for a few days, normal outlet charging from the host’s home will take forever sob you won’t be able to use that vehicle,

It seems out of reality comparing prices to last year. Last year the prices where artificial over inflated and now there very slowly coming down. So no, cars don't loose value just because you were willing to pay more last year.
50k into a vehicle that in 3 years will be worth 15k - man on the street dosent have that money. It’s crazy that manufacturers don’t see this are they blind
That is call market disruption, EVs are the future. And no need to concern about growth percentage unless its negative, compare with the ICE car market srinking. EVs price reduction is good, as it is affordable to mass population and thereby coming to mainstream.
Look they don’t need to create these crazy cars and spent a crap load in research. Just take an already good car and make it electric, if they did that it wouldn’t be as expensive as it is now. Also people will change their minds when solid state batteries become a thing. Most people have never even heard of a solid state battery but it literally solves all the issues of fires, range anxiety, 5 min charging and reliability. We are talking Abou batteries that can last 20 years without any degradation or power loss due to temperature. Solid state batteries are the solution and Tesla is screwed because they focused on lithium ion instead of solid state. Or in other words I give Tesla a few years before they are no longer on top unless they realize their mistake.
Listen to all of you wringing your hands about this. The market needs to set the demand. Sounds like a deal!! NOT. Also a lot of people live in apartments, they can't install a charger in a garage, did anyone think of that???
Tesla prices are coming down. Cell phone prices came down, and more people bought them. And, the resale value of used phones did not effect new phone sales negatively. Take Cybertruck as an example. Right now, thaty are selling at a premium, and every single one is being snatched up. Influencers are using them for content creation and celebrities are wearing them like swag. But, they are seen as super valuable. Now, when the price starts to drop, people with less means are going to scoop up this vehicle that they still see as a premium product. The ppl that bought early will have an asset that was sold in the first year and probably want to hold onto it. But, every time the truck gets cheaper and Tesla adds more features and extends the range, they'll sell more units. The bottom line is, Tesla's goal is to make their ev's cheaper to build than gas cars. Then, they can win a price war with anyone.
Who wants a car where you have to chose to run the ac/ heater to make it to your destination? In true cold weather, they become a 6000 pound paperweights. Yup these ev cars needs to substantially lower on the price in 20k range otherwise they make 0 financial sense for anyone . Also the batteries needs to go atleast 400-500 range . Most chargers other then Tesla don’t work either

EVs only make financial sense if you can charge at the actual electricity rate .. those SuperChargers and stations operated for profit, COST as much as Gasoline for an ICE vehicle.

Most people who want an EV already have an EV. Those who can’t afford an EV due to interest rates or the cost too high, you probably won’t get an EV. There’s nothing wrong with that, I myself am looking for an EV with an attractive price. Rivian is bringing out their new product that are attractive in price, so I will be waiting on the new models coming to market.
Model 3s are in the low 30k range way cheaper then the rivian
Tesla RWD model 3 costs only $28,000 in some states.
And the Chinese power those EV's with coal!!
And they are better off. I remember about 10 years ago about the smog problems in Chinese cities; these days not so much. EVs are generally so much more efficient that even if all coal fired electricity, still produces about 50% less pollution. And the Chinese are increasingly using more renewables (they make the panels I'm about to install).
Remember, China's per capita carbon emissions are half those of the United States.
K! O!
Maybe the Big 3 should focus on quality a bit more. And their prices!! Highway robbery
Tesla may be down a bit, but it's the leader and they will triumph.
What we have to worry about is the other EV makers, some will be shutting down.
There's Tesla, then there's "EV's"
83.1 percent of new cars sold in Norway were electric in february 2023.
One year later, february 2024, it is now 90.1 percent.
In 2025, Norway will stop selling new fossil fuel cars.
A decade later, in 2035, California and EU will ban sales of new fossil fuel cars
Every house hold will have tesla for local drive and gas for long range
To the Chinese agents who comment here who say let is be free. Don’t you block every industry from entering free in China? Be it technology, Social media, auto, pharma. You guys have a rule to make in China. And transfer technology.
Ramesh? Why are Indians anti-China?
Wrong. BMW opened the largest plant in China. Google ads always get Chinese merchants advertising their business. What China block was the publisher abilities of these Internet companies which Congress have raised issue with Facebook and now Australia too by charging any news stolen by FB wouldn't you want a Conservative accountable Government like that and not just be a chump for Democrats
If I want to take delivery of a Tesla in California the closest is 23 miles away in a major metropolitan area, if I want to buy a car from a legacy automaker, whether gas, EV or hybrid I can just go to my local dealership a couple miles away and they will even transport me to the dealership for free. Servicing is easy too and they always give you a loaner, not so with Tesla.
The Tesla Model Y is the #1 selling vehicle in the world of any kind, gas or electric, that is realistic.
Well said. 👍🏻
“Nobody wants EV” = the message non-Tesla OEMs push when they can’t sell their EVs. Instead of improving their product, they try to change the narrative. Clear sign of incompetent management. Let’s be real, if you’re smart, you’re not working at any of those dinosaur companies. You want to work at TESLA. If you can’t understand this, then you’re probably not competent enough to get a job at Tesla.
EV cars are garbage 🗑️
Imagine going to rural areas for a few days, normal outlet charging from the host’s home will take forever sob you won’t be able to use that vehicle,
Funny, the former CEO have not find a job in car bus last 7 years, giving opinions
He perfectly choked when he said growth is still there
Tesla is the best car company ever no gas stations no oil changes no smog check no corrupt dealerships no catalytic converter no dealer mark up above MSRP!

really, going back to gas?? all vehicle sales are down. ICE vehicle inventory is also high. companies need to wake up, urban dwellers dont need cars. demand overall is down. every company will miss their targets... way too much optimism in the WHOLE vehicle market, not only EVs
Stop calling them ‘big 3’ they’re literally just car monopolies
EVs should be an option - not a mandate in order to buy a vehicle. Nothing is a bigger turnoff than the government telling you what to buy.
We need to wait until there are enough _reliable_ public DC chargers out there for the EV revolution to become successful.
And a power grid that will be able to handle it all. Elons fantasy of solar powered level 3 quick chargers was just another one of his stock puffing falsities.
It already is successful, it just has to become more mainstream via word of mouth.
Well, you aren’t talking or watching the right people. 😢
Also create indoor EV charging stations for the winter seasons.
By then the Chinese will have flooded the market killing off GM, Ford, etc.
EV sales will be lucky to be 3 percent of overall sales...2024 it is decelerating...
this story EXPIRED like warm milk.
In 2023 EV made up 8% of total sales and now is projected to make between 9 to 11% sales in 2024
Something like a better charging infra or reducing the weight/size of batteries can make a lot of change. And things only get better. I am optimistic.
LEGACY auto needs to go to 4680 & Structural battery , reduced cost/weight.
I LOVE how "analysts" in the market assume the EVs are given - everyone is finally waking from their daydreams

I just want my 5th gen 4runner but electric and a solid state battery
Mary Kaliope Braun is the licensed fiduciary I use. Just research the name. You’d find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment
The problem is principles. What does the USA stand for? Best prices for the customer or an economy that focuses on self sufficiency. If self sufficiency, then everything consumed in the USA must be made in the USA regardless of cost or efficiency.
Too much government money for a market while trying to hamstring another, EVs and Fossil fuels is not working and going to increase out debt.
And that, all of you, is the beast knocking on the door. Enjoy what’s coming if you carry too much debt, have little saving and a job that will be cut in a heat beat.

How can you buy a tesla when they change the price every week. A model Y is cheaper than a three.
Wait for fuel to reach 5 dollars a gallon this will accelerate ev adaption.

Only in USA all system is hell bent on keeping ice cars no one is buying any cars
Not to mention, driving out of your way to charge and wait an hour to "fill your tank." You keep your battery car, I'll keep my internal combustion engine....
Yup these ev cars needs to substantially lower on the price in 20k range otherwise they make 0 financial sense for anyone . Also the batteries needs to go atleast 400-500 range . Most chargers other then Tesla don’t work either
Exactly. You have to wait hours for charging. I am already fed up of devices which needs charging every now and then. Charging a car is anxiety on steroids.
What? I charge in my sleep and never had to turn off my AC in my tesla no matter what the weather is..

CNBS still hating on Tesla,
It's nice that the demand for crappy EVs is dying. It's more than obvious the consumer wants something worth buying, that the lamestream ICE auto industry isn't providing yet due to dragging their feet. The demand for Tesla autos and BYD is enormous and growing. The movers and shakers in the growing EV marketplace will sort it out for us, as the idiots and ICE industry try so pointlessly (for you and I) to stop it and their attendant gravy-train. I admit Mr. Fields sometimes gets things right, but not so very often IMO.
Meanwhile the current Ford CEO winds EV production down.

Early adoption of anything must go through evolution. The excited and dismissive new buyers see past the deficiencies because it's new and shiny. The regular crowd is waiting for value. EV has the potential for value, but it must pay its dues before jumping to the head of the line?
CORRECTION. "Everyone Else's" inferior junk is not growing at the rate they expected. Tesla is growing just fine. "Record" sale last quarter, "record" sales last year YoY. They will continue to sell every car they can possibly build.
