    :fireworks: I have heard dark cottagecore referred to as gremlin or goblincore with the emphasis being on texture and deeper colours, something I appreciate in my own wardrobe. I also like the breezy neutrals of the coastal grandmother vibe, so I guess that makes my style a dark coastal gremlin's grandma.

    Downtown Girl looks exactly like Twilight Core, where you dress like Bella Swan or Elena Gilbert. Modern Gurlz has a really good video on it and why it's becoming popular.
    Also I totally agree with your S tier, mine in the same, but I'd also put Coastal Grandma up in A tier. I want to be rich and live by the beach lol

    Look up Acubi aesthetic, it reminds me of downtown girl but elevated.
    I'm a downtown girl/vintage dress girlie. My mom was a preteen when I was born so I grew up seeing her wearing basic but also grunge 2000s clothes so I love the overlap of the basic neutrals of the 2000s but then add some spicy accessories to it

    I'm a coastal step-grandmother, aged 44. This isn't really how people dress near me, perhaps because the Isle of Wight (England) involves quite a lot of mud at this time of year, plus or minus dog hair. But no doubt I'm missing the point. 😉
    I guess it's more a cross between cottage core and practical basics for me, eg floral shirt, knitted cotton jumper and jeans. Or floral dress with a bikini under it 😊
    Thank you for alleviating the seasonal depression 🙂, plus I'm very recently widowed, so I needed this video.

      I’ve noticed a pretty big difference between “New England” style and “ACTUAL England” style haha. Despite being native to the US, I tend to prefer the latter 😝
      I’m so sorry about your partner’s passing; I can’t imagine how difficult that must be.

      @@OutfitRepeater Thank you. I'm doing ok thanks to my cat, and I had the chance to sing and play the flute for his last hours, so I was lucky.

      @Pamela Falls Thank you , I appreciate it. This is a kind community so I felt safe to say it here and on the cat rescue channel Meow Meow. Plus I think bereavement does need to be spoken about openly, not hidden away.

    I do dress coastal grandma to some extent but it's more of a summer vibe and I do live on the coast (N/East England). I'm mainly drawn to Japanese minimal - the bigger, looser shapes and monochrome.

      Oooh I kinda love the Japanese minimalist look. I don’t think it would suit me, but it’s visually comforting to see on other people :)

    My aesthetic is grunge/indie
    But I have social anxiety so I still wear oversized pink hoodies etc. In public and it just fits the image people have of me lmao
    Btw I as a dancer absolutely hate balletcore cause many people go on pointe etc. Because they like the aesthetic and then they can hurt themselves and it's just so dumb just take dance class already you can start anytime

    • @OutfitRepeater
      @OutfitRepeater  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wait, people are seriously doing pointe without training just for the aesthetic? That’s pretty dumb lol. Dance classes can be pretty expensive though, so I don’t see anything wrong with just dressing like it as long as people don’t hurt themselves!

    Gorpcore and downtown girl just seem like normal, practical clothes to me and not fashion. lol. Also what I tend to wear because I am plain and not confident. I am entering my IDGAF stage of life though.

    Oh my. I’ve been trying to nail down set of words or list of aesthetics for myself. Based on what I’m wearing today…would that be a farmy GORP academic who like, needs to teach a class on zoom but also has chickens to feed? I don’t love it…but I don’t hate it 🎆

    So far I think I like coastal grandma and light academia on me because I'm basic and in my mid 30s.

      @OutfitRepeater  ปีที่แล้ว +1
