      and I seen a woman-a blind woman-pacin' up and down the sidewalk. She seemed to be a bit frustrated, as if she had dropped somethin' and havin' a hard time findin' it. So after watchin' her struggle for a while, I decide to go over and lend a helping hand, you know?

    10:00 is such a beautiful moment. He is asked if he is the greatest rapper alive and rather than brag or boast about his success he goes into the most amazing explanation for his love of music. It really shows how emotionally in tune he is with his art and understanding of music. You can feel how passionate he is.

    Coming back around to this interview after the recent release of "Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers" and Kendrick is truly a musical genius. He has a very Kubrick-like approach to crafting music as he's specific, detailed, and obsessive with every minute aspect of each project.

      Me too. I'm surprised and saddened the interviewer didn't bring it up. Too much focus on the Eminem angle. Obviously there's the Compton link, but I'd love to know where Andre sits in Kendrick's influences. I here so many similarities between the two. The sensitivity, sensuality and then the anger and the fear. Huge respect to both of these greats.

      andre is good but not my top 5, neither is Pac. biggie is a better lyricst and storyteller then both. warning, 10 crack commandents, I got a story to tell etc. u can visually see what biggie is saying.

    • @Zephead10
      @Zephead10 7 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      I like biggie. But my top 5 doesn't just consist of storytelling, but how they make me feel. Pac had more substance than Biggie. Plus Biggie fabricated many of the things he rapped about. His mom was a teacher with a good paying job.

    Watching this now is a bit funny. He won't talk about certain things because the reverse tracklist was coming. To reveal a new perspective. This is something I've enjoyed seeing theorized with Tool in the past but they intentionally did with their last album Fear Inoculum. With the song in the middle being called either Descending as it was released or Ascending, as the fans found out. For years it showed up in setlists written as A/Descending and that was the clue. They even have a palindrome track. It plays exactly the same if played in complete reverse. Really cool concept. Reminded me of this album. Hands down #1 tied with J. Cole imo.
