  • Is Akwa Ibom A Better City than Lagos, Nigeria is a Video where I explore Akwa Ibom state in Southern Nigeria in Hopes to Rediscover the Culture, Lifestyle, and people of the City? I also compare living here with living in lagos, Nigeria.
I boarded a plane to Uyo which is the state capital and stayed in the City for 4 Days. In this video, I explore Uyo Stadium, Green Park and I try out some local delicacies like AFang Soup. This new series involves me sharing my experience across Nigeria in the Hopes or Rediscovering the Lost Beauty and Vibrance of the Country. Do like, watch and Enjoy.

I think there is a general attitude in Africa, to reduce an entire country to one major city. Nigeria becomes Lagos, Ghana becomes Accra, Ethiopia becomes Addis, Tanzania is Dar Es Salaam etc. Thank goodness for the youtubers because the tourist boards are not promoting as they should.

You are absolutely right. South Africans have been saying that Nigeria doesn't have a single public garden for relaxation because they were saying that in terms of Lagos, but look at a lot of public gardens and relaxation centres in Uyo Akwa Ibom state

Offers a rich cultural heritage. 2019 when I visited I couldn't believe the stadium was already 5 years old. it may not sound like much but knowing Nigeria and how great we are at maintenance the state can be super proud of themselves for keeping up the good standard.

It's called Ibom Connection because it's located at the centre of Akwa Ibom State and not just the centre of Uyo, and that's the exact place where the four cardinals points of the state meets, Akwa Ibom north, south, east and west. All the major roads that meets at that roundabout, leads to other major towns in the state like Ikot Ekpene, Eket, Oron, Ikot Abasi, Abak, Etinan, Itu, etc. Ibom Peace Column was located at the present location of Itam flyover but the stature was relocated to somewhere close to the Ibom Specialist Hospital, when that Itam flyover bridge was built.

Thanks Tayo and the crew for the promotion of my state AKS . Spent part of my childhood in Ewet housing but being out in the diaspora for over two decades where I was born. I can assure you that every point raised about Akwa Ibom is correct! Clean and serene environment, friendly and accommodating people, calm and relaxed atmosphere, delicious array of local cuisines and most of all very beautiful, cultured and caring women. Not as much economic activities like other major cities in Nigeria but it is on the rise. Bigger demographics of under 25's so tech startups are also on the rise. Being in the South south, it is part of the Niger delta with reserves so massive potential for further economic development and growth if managed well which so far is the case. I would like to see more tourism promotion to the wider world from the State government and also a uniform expansion and development of the outer areas of the state. Not just individual houses but also infrastructures and amenities. Great work guys. I miss my state dearly and hope to be back soon.

Welcome you Eko people to my home. I was born in Lagos, I have property in lagos but I got tired of the choking environment and moved back to Akwa Ibom. @@tombimashri8149 well I don't really reside in Nigeria but couple of years back I decided to relocate back to Eket as its my hometown. I have been opportuned to stay there about 6 months, the fact is that the hot season is pure hot. And the rainy season is dead cold. Its just the dual Nigerian weather but we have minute psi. No weather pollution like you see lagos weather looking smoky. Our weather in Akwa Ibom is crystal clear. And you don't get to find dust. Once it rains everywhere is clear and neat. The drainage does it job. Remember the ecosystems is still in its original state so when it rains expect real cold.

@@tombimashri8149 The climate in Akwa Ibom is very distinct, with rainfall from March to September/October, harmattan in December/January and a dry spell from Jan to March. The beauty of the dry season is that when it gets really hot, there is often rainfall to ease the heat, like heaven decided to put their sprinkler system on, lol ! It's amazing!

Hi, I'm currently trying to decide between Calabar and Uyo on where to reside. Which do you think is better (based on the environment, recreational centers and security)
And lastly comparing with ABUJA, which do you think is the best to reside in? The reason I added ABUJA is because some friends that stays in Abuja says I should ignore any other state and come over to ABUJA saying I'll definitely like it there and ABUJA is better than the others.
