Most people don't know or honestly care about politics. Its why it had to become a moral compass issue because if you asked people about actual politics, asked them what rate of taxation should any county in Rhode island should has to maintain safe and easy roads, they will slowly walk away from you because it's the most boring annoying subject you can get into.

I had a long time friend ghost me for a while, but I kept trying to reach out, even messaging his other friends and his wife, until he confronted me and said he did not like who I was associating myself with and that I was on the wrong side of history. He told me we should go our separate ways. All I ever did was mention a couple interesting news articles I had seen, but apparently some of the sources were known to be "alt-right" and some of the subjects were also being discussed by alleged white nationalist groups so he assumed I was in league with them. At the time I didn't even know what alt-right was and I especially didn't realize anything I was saying was controversial. While he knew more about these groups than I did, he believed I was the one following them. Even though I was too stunned and angry to argue with him, I was (and still am) deeply wounded. Obviously I'm now more interested in politics but I think it's because that experience got me curious to learn more and planted a seed of great resentment towards the "woke".
It's been quite an eye-opening experience and has taught me how puritanical and self-righteous the Left can be.

This happened soon after I said I don't disagree with Trump on many issues. (I actually don't want the man to be a President again, but I don't think he is an absolute villain) It was years ago now, and still hurts a little. He was like an uncle to my daughter, a friend I trusted with all (including my still rather quiet political beliefs) , and a person I went out of my way to help when ever he asked.

      It's a facade.
Another time, I went to the trouble of timestamping one of his audiobook reads. He gave me a heart, then copied and pasted everything I typed out into his description but rather than give credit (I presume) he did it in a way as if he created this himself, by rearranging what I did, putting the timestamp after the title of each segment, which back then, didn't work at that time. The timestamp needed to be first, then the segment title.
How did I know he copied and pasted it? Well, I made two spelling errors that he didn't bother to correct. (Last time I checked they were still there). Am I bothered that he took that and without giving me credit? No, I did it to help him out and was pleased that he put it in the description.

Even itsagundam called Joe's white knight bs. When Joe's channel growth plateaued, Joe ventured out in other entertainment commentary, tv, streaming, movies...but his takes SUKs! Yeah, 99% of public/online arguments aren't about winning said arguments (i.e. convincing the other side that you are right, at least partially and getting them to concede the argued point), but about posturing to your stated side that you are as uncompromisingly strong on the issues as physically possible. Essentially they're campaigning for their side, even if in reality you're not even 100% on their side.
But once the conversation becomes private that all falls away and they become much more movable on the issues than they would be in public.

First of all, im not an american so Im not a "trump supporter" OR one of his "voter" (... in fact he is a clown in my eyes for many reasons) but the fact that people like "Angry Joe" can call trump supporters for morons, racist etc just tells me enough about him.
And thats the irony of the people who enter sidescrollers chat and ask them why they talk politics- let me take a wild guess, they never confronted Angry Joe about bringing up "trump" on his gaming channel or calling a portion of his audience for idiots, and racist for supporting him etc, but hey, I can understand that its hard to be honest and fair when you have an agenda yourself.
I assume Joe, as a "mexican", probably is offended that people dont want mexicans coming in masses sneaking in illegally in to USA - AND - there is probably some shame in that Mexico is a country people wanna flee from (... and I do feel sad for the mexicans because the country they made is so bad they dont wanna live there- I would never leave my own home country) and he can never talk about "why". So he lash out on "whitey" and Trump supporters instead. With all that said, I think he makes decent gaming videos. But he clearly is a very sensitive and a lefty man who loves Mexico above everything else and thus willing to call his audience for racist for not wanting mass migration from Mexico. What a shame.

He has charisma, very likeable but his stance on most things is just bizarre. He knows that the very people he sides with are eating away at gaming but still defends it.
On that stream, he was getting all his talking points from The YoungTurks, I am not even kidding. TYT would talk about something and shortly thereafter Joe would share the same take on his twitter feed as if it was his own original thought. I called him out for this and was blocked.

There's two military channels called Lazerpig and RedEffect. The former made a video about how the latest Russian tank is terrible and the latter called out how most of his facts were either flat out wrong or there was no source to back the claims up.
The two spoke together and both stated that the meeting was cordial and friendly. And then Lazerpig would make a video where he mocked and belittled RedEffect.
The point I'm trying to get to is that you can't take anyone at face value on the internet, especially people with an audience. They have to play the part demanded by their audience and can't deviate from that, lest they be torn apart by their fans.

Don't think anyone who is a "veteran of the culture war" such as me ever said they won't be nice to you in private conversation or even face to face. It's what they'll do to you when pressed by their ideological cohorts or in the ones with less scruples will do with the information you give them in private. Karen Straughen a MRA (an actual one not mgtow like so many conflate) had a conversation for an interview and how they were in private before they did their best to make a hit piece was night and day.
That's what's sad you can't be sure that leftist you had a nice conversation isn't somehow gonna use and misconstrue anything you told them in confidence. The center, center left, and center right have a code of not being a conniving turd but leftists? Those with ideologies that encourage such activities are everywhere and if that person isn't peer pressure might make them do something even they don't want.
