Check airflow. Some customers shut vents off in the building.

Hate when guy are too lazy to clean up their mess. Had a Carrier do the same thing with internal control fault. Replaced board. Day later same thing. Thinking bad board . Talked a guy at Mingledoffs , we buy Carrier units from them. Turned out the Effect switch was going pad. Showed me best way to check them. Glad I don’t have to work in the cold and snow much. Enjoy your videos.

Brutish how do you check that effect switch?

With power on unit with no call for heat unplug Hall effect switch. With your meter on DC scale. Connect negative lead to pin 3 and positive lead to pin one should read 7.5-10 volts DC. Move positive lead to pin two. Should read 21-24 volts. If not bad board.
With plug plugged in connect negative lead to pin three and positive lead to pin one. Slowly rotate draft motor. On half a turn should read less than one volt DC. OTHER half of turn should read 6.5-9 volts DC. Then move positive lead to pin two. Should read 16.5-21 volts DC. If not replace Hall switch. Hope this helps

Not only faulty hall sensor but a faulty gas valve causes 8 flashes. Most times it’s stage 2, pink wire on valve. Should have jumped W2.

Just saw this and tech support said to change the gas valve. So far so good but it also worked for a few days after I changed the board. Also told me about the combustion fan. Said if you block the exhaust and it fires its the combustion motor hall effect sensor. He says the gas valve has a bridge rectifier in it that goes bad and it disables the board with 8 flash code. For something that appears to diagnose itself these are some pretty funky ways of failing. He says a lot of companies will just change the board, comb motor, and gas valve to ensure it's fixed.

I’ve come across 2 GrandAire RTU’s new installs throwing different error codes like internal control fault, pressure switch fault, high limit fault, rollout fault. What’s going on? Anyone have experience
