It tells the story of Elodie who must overcome a trap set up by her new Prince Charming and survive the wrath of a fire breathing dragon. Was this movie able to subvert expectations. Was It Good? I agree.. the dragon was evil.. its sad that it’s children were killed… but then it killed girls for years and years… to make it follow elodie after made no sense. Did the authors forget that this dragon also killed innocent girls for the crime of one man????

I really enjoyed this movie. Millie Bobby Brown was great and the survival thriller storyline with her and the dragon was tense and suspenseful. A little gem from Netflix this year.
Appreciate your opinion. I really didn’t like it and I thought the pieces were there. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a lot better than a lot of Netflix movies, but I just felt it could have been so much better.

I actually saw the movie yesterday. I actually have to disagree with alot of your point. Yes I do agree they could have added about 30 more minutes for some build ups. I actually found this movie a bit refreshing the fact it wasn't your typical happily ever after type. A bit darker. Yes it's an emotional dragon, she was a mother hurt for her loss. The fact that we as viewers knew she was deceived. But that it took someone kind hearted who could have taken her life but proved her wrong and that those in the end got what they deserved. It's a very new aged feminist empowering type movie. Just to prove a woman can succeed where men have not. Of course not a very realistic reality. But the movie was entertaining. It's no Lord of the Rings.
Appreciate your feedback. I love reading, differing opinions. I like to hear why people thought differently than I did. I like that the film is darker. As I said in my review I think the basic premise was good. It had the pieces to be something great because it’s not the traditional fairytale, but instead it became something else. The fact that the Dragon was deceived or that she suffered loss doesn’t excuse centuries of needing 3 sacrifices every generation as repayment. I could maybe understand an eye for an eye, but in this case, it was an eye for multiple eyes. The film tried to present her as a sympathetic character, but her actions don’t warrant sympathy. I also don’t think it needed 30 minutes more of setup, but instead of having her chop wood at the beginning, we could’ve met her fencing with her father. That would at least explain that she has skill with a blade. Overall the film wasn’t horrible. There are worse films out there. Thanks again for your opinion. It would be nice if the movie had it where the man and the woman save each other. Because I'm bored with the girl boss trope. That trope have been over done.
Completely agree. This could’ve been so good because the pieces were there and instead they decided to go with this used up trope.
