What fun and great that you passed the Porsche and Lotus towards the end. Was that on the stock tires?

The camera setup looks incredible! What'd you guys use for this?

GoPro Hero 4 Silver, set to 1080p60, medium angle, protune enabled. 6" vacuum pump suction cup by Woods, mated to a Manfrotto 496RC2 head, mounted to the inside of the windshield (explains the reflections, might invest in a gopro c-pol filter).

I thought the MX 5 ND could have taken many of the corners faster. I drive a '04 Mazdaspeed Miata and it dances through corners. With a Miata, it's all about the cornering.
Curious; Anybody know what it takes in terms of fees, training, safety check, etc. to get your street car on the Ring?

On that track? 25 euro in the week and 30 on weekends. as far as I know.

Seems like there was quite a bit of body roll. What were your impressions as this seems to be one complaint of the ND?

SwissGator the 1.5 litre version car used in this video has a bit of body roll. I drive the same model. It hasn't been designed for race track but for grand touring. Still it can be adapted for race track with only mild tuning. For those who want a factory tuned one, get the 2 litre, has already stiffer suspension, limited slip dif, anti roll bars, bilstein dampers, better brakes, wider tyres. Plus of course, more torque and power

Is the ND really that quick, or do the other drivers just suck that bad?

The Nürburgring is full of people who just want to have safe fun and don't go balls to the walls all the time.

Even if they wanted to go fast, it takes a lot of laps to be able to know where you can push it. 70+ corners takes a while to learn.

The MX5 is lighter than the rest of the cars (except for the Lotus Elise). Therefore, it doesn't have to break so hard or care about inertia, it just goes faster around the corners. However, due to its limited power, it falls behind on the straight parts of the track

Imagine what the ND could do with another 40 or 50 ponies under the hood, and a little more aggressive suspension . . . It would eat those Porches for breakfast.

it needs a turbo with chiptuning and you've got a beast. BBR GTI just developed a turbo for the ND (around 6000euros) 248 bhp, 0 to 60 in 5 seconds and top speed limited at 155mph

Nice but still wouldnt drive it because of that electronic no-feedback steering! Can tell you have been on that ring a lot more than the old Porsche and Lotus!
