  • A walkthrough of the beaches and hotels of Ko Olina on Oahu in Hawaii. Ko Olina is one of my favorite resort destinations anywhere. Ko Olina's 4 man-made lagoons make for excellent swimming and water play. If you have kids, the Disney Aulani resort is an excellent hotel to stay at. Ko Olina is also home to the Four Seasons, and Marriott Vacation Club hotels. I conclude the video with tips for parking in Ko Olina, because parking is one of the biggest challenges for visiting Ko Olina.

    Love the pay phone....hilarious!🤣🤣 What a great, relaxing resort! Pools, the lagoons: practice your stand-up paddle boarding & snorkeling in safe spots. A great one to remember.

    As a Hawaii native who now lives on the mainland and travels there for both work and pleasure whenever I can (and never having been to Ko'olina), I have to say it does not appeal to me at ALL. First of all, I don't drive, so if I stayed there I would be totally isolated. And that's the other thing...it's a totally manufactured place; everything about it seems so artificial and not really a part of Hawaii. Yes, Waikiki can be tacky and crowded, but it definitely has its charms, and its history...plus it's accessible, an easy walk to nearby areas (or an easy bus or Uber ride to even more), and there's just so much to do around there. Interesting video, but I don't think I'll be staying there anytime soon!

    Awesome video! I live about 15 mins from Ko'olina so its a place very familiar to me. definitely prefer going there rather than waikiki, and they also have great fireworks shows that my family goes to see every 4th of july and new years! keep up the great work, love watching your videos!

    I don't know if I missed it in the video but seeing as the lagoons front the hotels/resorts do youhave to be staying at one to take advantage of the "beach" options? Is a tad confusing. I can understand some of the stuff like the beach loungers and umbrellas or even the lazy river. I'd hate to go and then get chased off bc we aren't patrons at one of the resorts.

      Most of the time you can use any of beaches, although, they may check for your room key once and awhile for beachfront purchases.

    This four seasons has four pools, not two! Three are in front of the hotel (beachside) and one is a little hidden elsewhere. But some things are better kept secret lol. Great video as usual, keep up the good work.

    Ko Olina looks very peaceful! That looks like a perfect place just to relax on the beach! I'll keep this place in mind if I visit Oahu someday!

    I’m torn between staying at Disney Aulani or the Royal Hawaiian in Waikiki. I’ve heard great things about both hotels but which do you think is better? I love Disney World, we travel there a lot together. So I know I will probably love the Aulani. But since it’s my husband’s FIRST time to Hawaii I was thinking RH would feel more authentic and Hawaiian.

      How many days are you on Oahu? If you're there for a week I'd consider splitting time between the two actually. That's what we often do... 4 nights in Waikiki and 3 nights in Ko Olina. But if you just have to pick one I'd pick Royal Hawaiian

    When I was looking at hotels to stay at on Oahu, I was really considering the JW Marriott. When I looked it up, it said it had closed, which seemed so strange to me. I thought they had made that entire property into time shares/condos. I guess you can still get hotel rooms there though.

    • @YellowProductions
      @YellowProductions  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jeannifed... yeah... the JW Marriott rebranded as the Four Seasons. The "Marriott Beach Club" at Ko Olina is an entirely different property that sells as a timeshare, and yes, also rents as hotel rooms

    Definitely not a 30 minute walk from Lagoon 4 to Lagoon 1. Mostly everyone parks Lagoon 4.

    • @HowiBecameSentient
      @HowiBecameSentient 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      He says the lagoons are private property around 2 minutes in, but I think they are public.

  • @LookIntoHawaii
    @LookIntoHawaii 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Always enjoy your Disney / Cali videos and here you are in our backyard :) Some things to note...the lagoons are note private, they are fully public like all beaches in Hawaii. Lagoon 2 is usually best for snorkeling (clearest, see our vid: th-cam.com/video/hQNKH7erltU/w-d-xo.html). The fish are all by the rocks but don't go passed the rope. While calm, currents can pull you out through that middle opening. Great job as usual!
