Totally gets the concept of playing the rests, doesnt have to all be played with 16th notes all the way through. Its not always about what you play but what you dont play too. sounds sweet! Definitely checking more music out by her,

As someone who is now 58, it's been so interesting to see the progression from a good female musician being treated like some oddity and usually being completely condescended to, to all these monstrous female musicians we have now. In the drumming world, I think that folks like Madden, Anika Niles, Sarah Thawer, Roni Kaspi, Kanade Sato, and Senri Kawaghuchi are just so good. And of course extremely promising youngsters like Yoyoko.
And, BTW, the band Madden is in, Space Junk is Forever, is really good and deserve more support.

Hey Madden, are you using an Aquarian on your first floor tom and Remo on the rest of your kit? If so, why?
i think she uses a dampening ring on the first floor tom. it gives it a punchier sound from what i can tell, more like a kick drum
