      @@SudburyMan my portable washer also has a spin cycle and it works pretty well - I think I can set it up to 15 min of spin cycle which is insane and I never do :D should I? I worry my clothes will be super wrinkly

    Hey Julia, we are close, I am in SFV Burbank/Glendale area, and my electric bill was $120 for August and $140 in September. I dont run my wall AC all the time, not everyday, maybe 3X per week max or less and we cant run the living room and bedroom unit simultaneously or itll blow the power. A couple days we had to run it all day due to the intense heat wave. So sometimes we use a fan daily, or if one AC is running in another room too. We definitely saw an increase in this last bill using the AC more-it was so hot. My apartment just seems to run hot in the summer. We also have a dishwasher we run sometimes. Just got the washer. Will see and update how things go when we get the dryer next week. Today we are having the same leakage issues with the hose that connects to the washer on the washer end (frustrating!) I am trying the tape tonight and if that does not work, we will order the hose or pick one up from Home Depot tomm. Thanks so much for your videos! So excited to use it! My neighbor wants one too!

      I used to have the same issue with the hose! I finally bought a new one on amazon and since then no more issues - it's been like over a year i think :) My electric bill used to be $20-30 a month (washer and dryer run at least twice a week) here in Santa Monica, but now since I run AC all day it's $80 :o that's the highest it's ever been since I lived here (over 2 years) so I wonder if electricity cost went up hmmm

    If you want to save money on electricity....air dry the clothes overnight. And just use the dryer for 10minutes to hot press the clothes afterwards.

      that's a great idea! I actually do it with some of my more delicate clothes - I air dry them and when they're dry I put the in the dryer for a few minutes to get rid of any wrinkles and soften them up - it works amazing :) thanks vince!

    They should make one for electric vehicles. Would be great to track how much energy you are consuming. Great video, I will be ordering some of these!

    I like the way you explain things and make sense you save money on going on and off to the laundry place and also I live in North Hollywood so if you make a quick wash make sense and is convenient I spend 20 bucks a week maybe I need to umm see if my billing going up I haven’t acquire the dryer and I let you know

  • @larryc1616

    So on average you use 30kw per month that's about $5-6/ month, but is that for both washer and dryer?

    • @JuliaCaban
      @JuliaCaban  ปีที่แล้ว

      from my observations, my washer needs even less energy - it needs it mosty for the spin cycle, but it still 3-4x less energy than the dryer, so for both its less than $10 a month

      That's so worth it! Here in SF i pay about $20 per laundry trip (2x 35 lb loads wash and dry every couple of weeks).

      Same here. I'm in Houston. But we also have deregulated power, so you can pay way more or less depending on what specific plan you choose.

      No, you don't need Alexa to use them. But you can OPTIONALLY connect them to Alexa. I don't have Alexa and I use these no problem.
