Julia..THANK YOU!!! I saved up and got the 1.6 cu washer from Black & decker and just did my first 2 loads! This is so amazing, you sold me with your 2 detailed reviews. 🙇🏽♀️ Thanks again!
@frederick Hughes hi. This is the update (2nd video). You have to watch the first one for full details. It really is awesome 👏🏽 th-cam.com/video/rZX2WUKbfvM/w-d-xo.html
@@ashthenappan9437 I’m not sure what “medium” is in bed sizes. I have a queen size bed and can NOT fit a comforter in there but that’s why I bought a queen size duvet and that fits perfectly ✅
That's a great-looking washer. It looks perfect for anyone in a small living space, especially if that space doesn't have washer hookups. I have a Magic Chef portable washer and I love it. I've been using mine for over a year and I've never had a problem with it. For anyone who likes the idea of a portable washer but would like a bigger tub, you should know that portable washers go all the way up to 3.0 cu. ft. That's what mine is. My 3.5 cu. ft. Panda dryer has been working well for over a year. By the way, thanks for posting info about replacement filters for it.
This washer is amazing. I have the exact same model one but, mine is the Magic Chef. Mine has a white lid. I use mine in the kitchen and family members are amazed how well it cleans. I'll do about 4 loads then I'll toss in my dryer. Most items are nearly dry after the spin so I'll just hang dry around the house till dry. I bought the same washer for my son and girlfriend for Christmas. The hubby thought it was stupid gift only a mom would buy. Well, they were extremely happy. Honestly I was going to give them mine because I wanted to get a larger size. I got one on sale at home depot for $150.00 plus free delivery. Only downside is there isn't a fabric softener dispenser. You'll just need to purchase a downey ball. This is perfect for a busy person who doesn't have time to go to laundromat. You could wash a couple of loads by 10pm and I promise most clothing would be dry by morning. Make sure you set it for 9 minute spin dry.Just hang on a drying clothes rack.
Thanks So much for your revies,I just ordered mine today,I have you to thank, can't wait to get it,I'm 60 yrs old and live by myself,in a small apt,I'm also disabled so my Son's been doing my laundry, now he won't have to❤️🙏❤️😘
I just bought one of these but a different brand. It's on the way and I have high hopes. I live in a motorhome and so I have very little space, like you have. Thankfully I have a double door utility closet with washer/dryer hookups and I'm hoping this will work well with what it's set up for. I bought a portable dryer too. I have been using those machines that tangle your clothes up into knots and that you have to babysit and then move clothes over to the spin side to remove the water, so I'm so happy to be moving up in the world. Thanks for a great video.
A quick drain tip: I found an amazing way to not have the drain hose leave the sink while draining the water: I made a hole in the (bottom center) of a 3 Liter plastic Ocean Spray (Cranberry drink) jug by using a tiny $3.99 torch lighter I got from my corner gas station! I now wish I would have gotten the larger $5.99 torch lighter to make it a much faster melting job! Oh well! Anyways, I used the end of a broken metal spatula handle to widen the hole until It was wide enough for my hose to fit! Took me about 20-30 minutes until I made a hole large enough to fold, squeeze and push the rubber hose into to make a water tight fit! Again, had I had a much larger torch lighter, it would've made quick work out of this task! Note: I took that plastic (hook) plastic piece off because I didn't need it. The hose stays attached to the jug and both go into the washer when done. Because the jug is shaped the way it is, I never have to worry about it jumping out of my sink. It collects and expels the water as it should and my kitchen floor now stays dry so I'm very happy!
Thank you for this review update. I’m considering one of these for my husband’s work clothes. Sometimes his clothes are full of sawdust or grease and oil, depending on if he’s out in the shop or out getting firewood. I don’t want such things wrecking our big washing machine. So a small portable one might help conserve our big expensive one from clogging, used either as a prewash or as the main wash for his grungy clothes.
Trust and believe...your perfectly huge full sized machine CAN & WILL handle his grungy clothes like a CHAMP! His clothes will not harm nor damage your washer. Why spend more money when you don't have to? Isn't that what washers are for? To clean dirty grungy clothes! They are not pansy's by any stretch of the imagination. Just shake out the saw dust or whatever and toss them in. Let the machine do the job you paid for! :-)
Petty Patty he does shake them out, I still get a pile of sawdust, wood chips and rocks in the bottom of the machine, who knows how much are slowly gumming up the works. Aside from that, if he’s been mechanicing some of those oils and gas aren’t great in a septic system, so having a prerinse machine that can be out on the lawn near a plug-in would help. Your advice might work for someone on a public works water and waste system. But country houses with septic tanks have to be more careful or they can eventually damage their system.
I’m getting this portable washer after looking at many different ones and then watching your videos Many times I’ve decided finally lol cause you’re right laundromats are expensive! I live in a studio and that was the downside of it no washer or dryer outlets 🤦🏻♀️ I had been looking at many different ones and this is the only washer that you don’t have to drain the water out or fill it up manually. Thank you for your reviews you’ve got yourself a new subscriber 😊
Thank you for a very helpful review! I bought a 1.6L Danby (just now!), and it was actually $100 off at Walmart (🇨🇦). It comes with a 1 year warranty, and you can buy an extended warranty from Danby. I didn’t buy one from Amazon because I couldn’t find a well-reviewed one with an extended warranty, and some of them even said NO returns. And the brand names that seem to be popular on there aren’t really ones that I’ve ever heard of or had any other appliances from. All of that made me nervous. I hope this saves me money of both apartment building laundry fees AND paper towels!
Omg, what a great idea. My elderly mother is incontinent so we do lots of laundry. This would definitely save the wear and tear on the regular machine. TIP: Borax works wonders, to replace 80% of the laundry soap. Borax is a natural product, and has been used for baby clothes for many years. I use 80% borax & 20% HE detergent.
You are so welcome! :) I sometimes use borax as well! it's great, but it doesn't have fragrance so it's a great tip you mentioned to use HE detergent with it :)
This has helped so much! We are expecting our first baby in December and I'm looking into cloth diapering. We will definitely be saving money by using this machine! I almost bought Kuppet, and I'm really glad I didn't. This looks way better quality wise. Sounds like the top of the line dream machine works well hooked up right well maybe reasonably quiet but I really really really like your dolly that makes any machine moving around a good addition
The hoses shouldn't leak at all. That sounds like an issue I wouldn't want to deal with. But I do understand, sometimes we have to make it work. It would probably be a headache trying to contact the manufacturer for assistance. I believe it's a one year manufacturer warranty. I went ahead and purchased the extended warranty. But leaky hoses is a quality issue. They advise.against using any tape in the 2.0 model, not sure why. But that's in the manual guide. I don't know where I've been, though. I should've bought one of these years ago!
I got the magic chef 3.0 washer ! It’s pretty good . It’s pretty big I got a dolly to move it around . I had a lot of trouble attaching it to the faucet since the hose was too big so I got a universal one al Walmart. It’s super convenient and it isn’t that loud
Thanks for these videos. I'm researching these machines right now because my lease will be up in 6 months and to save money, im thinking about moving to an apartment that doesn't have washer and dryer hookups.

Hi Julia, I love your little dog, Tortolino. ❤ He is so cute. 😘 Thank you for your videos. I just got this same washer and the Panda 2.6 cu ft dryer yesterday and am so happy. I have a question.Could you do a video showing how you disconnect the machine when you are done, and empty the water from the hoses and how you store the hoses? I just did it for the first time and it was a little cumbersome. Also, when unboxing the unit, I was surprised how much I had to lift the washer up from the foam bottom. I thought it was just a few inches. But the center part is like 5 or 6 inches high with this grey plastic piece in the center. Wondered if it was part of the machine, but no it wasn't. Also, how did you stop the leak from the faucet? Thanks again! Your videos are the best! I really appreciate them. 😁👍👏
I just bought this one too and am very excited! The only thing I can't figure out from her videos or the manual is when to turn on the sink. How long do you keep it on at first and then in the middle of the wash do I need to turn my sink back on to provide clean water for the rinse cycle? Help! haha.
One more question for ya, thanks for your input on the comforter. I was curious if you noticed any marked difference or spike in the water bill?? I know electric wise it is energy efficient. Our water is included in rent ..but I’m more concerned with my landlord noticing a spike in the water bill from our unit. We have a clause in our lease about overusage...esp given the Cali droughts. I was hoping maybe it’ll be the equivalent same as filling the tub for a bath for 1-2 people daily or less ,so she isnt alarmed by a spike.
@@KlaudiaPlepi YOu'll have to calculate that yourselves. Water prices vary by region. Check the specification of the model you are looking at, multiply by how often you'd use it monthly, and you'll see how much it uses. Whether or not the Landlord will notice is completely dependent on how much they care. If they keep a log and check the bill, they might ask about it.
@Yvette Brand Yes this uses much less water than the ones at the laundromat I'd imagine. Sometimes leases arent clear..they will state dont bring any appliances, however, a microwave is also an appliance so I think it has more to do with not altering anything or causing disturbances. Like not replacing the oven with your own, etc. I had to ask mine to take the fridge out bec I had my own and their's was not up to par with my taste and cleanliness, so they took theirs out! In some buildings water is included, some it isnt. In mine it isnt but lease speaks of excessive usage. So far we have not had any problems since getting it. I dont take baths...I shower as does my family member, so I would think taking 2 baths a day also uses a lot of water. So I kind of think of it like my bf/ fiance he showers like 3 times a day at his place. So if his landlord isnt squawking about it, this is probably not much different. Now hoses and such that can be an issue if we are in a drought. I have heard if you use too much and there is a mandate across the county, then the power co may say something. Ive heard avg is a 10-20 dollar jump with this, so I figured, well lets just equate to if me and housemate each bathing twice a day if there is any problem that arises. The tub is half the size maybe less in the washer than a standard washer so it is probably using the same as the one in the bulding that doesnt work well, if we are doing multiple washes. I dont use that one, so my landlord isnt losing any more money than if I was using the building washer. I was concerned in the beginning but I have not had any issues thus far thankfully
We suck at saving water and should have been better a long time ago but now we take shorter showers or baths only for he kids, when brushing teeth, washing dishes,yard...that way there isn’t much of a difference on water bill.
@@KlaudiaPlepi I ended up getting it and she answered in another video. I have been doing it almost every day or at least 2-3 loads a week minimum if I’m really busy. Landlord has not said a word about water usage so everything’s been great. It’s just two of us and we shower once a day on average. Hope that helps
Julia, Thank you so much for this excellent review! I am trying to get my sister to let me gift her a portable washer for her condo so I sent her your great video. I'm worried about her using community laundry what with covid-19 plus it's just kind of gross to share anyway. Thank you so much! 😀
Thanks... Liked. Mine is a "Farberware" but basically operates same. In mine, During the spin cycle, at first, the "agitator" at the bottom spins much faster than the tub, causing the clothes to knot up on one side, unbalancing the load, and cancelling the spin cycle, usually... Does your agitator spin much more quickly at first in the spin cycle? I hadn't noticed this until more recently so maybe something is amiss? Thanks again...
Thank you so much for making this very helpful video. A quick question. Can we manually add water instead of using the hose? Would it still spin and do the washing or filling water through the hose kicks start the process? We have Brita filters on all of our tabs so I would need to remove them every time we use this hose for the machine. Thanks :)
With all that soap suds in there you should do three rinses not one. Plus maybe you should clean the lint filter a little more often otherwise the one in the back on the bottom will clog up.
Thank you so much for sharing how this machine actually operates and other necessary parts, it really eased my worries especially I live in a small studio. I felt so happy when you showed there is an option to rinse more than once. I can't wait to buy it. Would you tell me the model of the hose so I can buy an extra one.
I made a whole video showing electricity cost for the washer and dryer in the past few months: th-cam.com/video/zvPQtLgDBdQ/w-d-xo.html (washer barely takes any energy, it's super cheap to run)
Thanks for the annual review, really helpful. I just bought this washer and read in the Amazon comments that it can't take hot or warm water. Did you have this issue?
I added warm water on many occasions, and it still works fine - but I did buy a different metal hose - I don't use the one they attached because it was leaking. Anyhow using hot water is probably not advisable because there's a lot of plastic elements.
I don’t know if you are still reading the comments section, but I have a portable washer that looks like yours, but it’s branded as Midea 0.9 cu ft. Do you need to remove anything from the water inlet area? There is a blue thing with holes in it that I figured was supposed to stay in and open and close on it’s own as a valve but it won’t let water in, and I also cannot remove it. If yours is made the same way mine is, did you need to remove anything from the water inlet place in the machine?
Great Video! I have a portable washer/dryer one and on mines you add the water manually without hooking up any hose (Which to me is easier) so this one you HAVE to hook it up to the faucet? you can't add the water manually? So the spin cycle kinda like a dryer in a way? Sorry I just want to make sure before I invest in one
You can, but it's not advisable to use it so I would be careful - I did it a few times and it was fine, but I usually just use cold water because it still gets all the stains out
So I have one similar and it says to drain water completely, but all I can do is get the water out of the hose. No idea how to get any other water out of it. Nictemaw xqb60-2010 if anyone knows how please share the insight.
Can you show putting a queen set of sheets in - I’m getting conflicting reports about how well they would both fit together. Some are saying you need to do one at a time.
I wash the whole king size sheets set at a time, and I select load 3(large). Sometimes I wash the fitted sheet separately, and then I choose a small load(1).
Awesome video, question when you first turn on your water does it automatically turn off when the machine shuts off like a regular size washer then ? What I like about this machine is you don’t have to transfer the cloths to spin dry them .
1. It's not advised to use hot water, but I did a few times and it was fine. I wouldn't risk it do it regularly, it's not necessary to use hot water to get your perfectly laundry clean. 2. I don't clean the washer. I only check on the lint filter to see if it's full and then I clean it up. The washer doesn't smell or looks dirty. I would say it's pretty low maintenance.
No, you should use cold water - but I tried doing hot water a few times and it was fine. It’s not great for clothes to use hot water so I stick with cold water anyhow ;)
Hi, do you think that it could stand on top of bathroom desk? We have a built in sink and the only place we could fit it perfectly would be there. Does it "dance" / move around while working? Thank you.
Hi Julia, Thank you so much for your review. I'm moving in to a new apartment that only has public laundry facilities. I don't know how comfortable I am with this, because we're in the middle of a pandemic. I really want to get one of these. My building has no elevator so can't imagine running up and down the stairs to do laundry. Is this a spin dryer too? Dolores
Hi Julia, Thanks so much for your reply. I'll definitely look in to yours. My apartment doesn't have a hookup for a washer/dryer. We have to use a public laundry room. I just have to look and make sure I can have one without breaking rules. Dolores
Hey Julia, I bought this washer after watching your reviews. For some reason, I keep getting an E1 error every once in a while. (I’ve had this machine for about 3 weeks). I didn’t have any leaks anywhere like the manual suggested. Did you ever encounter this problem?
I just received my washer and the first load went well. My second load is having problems. Is the water supposed to constantly run out and fill up? Cause mine is doing that every 5 min.
Even with the water is shut off, my hose seems to always spray/shoot water when trying to disconnect from the tap. Do you know if you should be able to disconnect the hose from the tap after a cycle and it wont spray water everywhere, even with the tap shut off?
You will need to use thread seal tape - you can get it at Home Depot or plumbing store - it will make a seal and prevent water from leaking from the house - it worked for me :)

Hi Julia, could you share the link for the replacement hose you bought? Thanks for the review.
@@cranshawmccaw I bought this one: amzn.to/3bKC8uV Thank you :)
yes I've been wanting to get one myself I was just looking at your video to see just how good this washer is and it looks like you love it now I definitely want to get one
Thank you
Thank you for helping me make one of the best purchase decisions! I love my washer so far!! 😘
Thank you for sharing! ☺️
I just bought this one too and am very excited! The only thing I can't figure out from her videos or the manual is when to turn on the sink. How long do you keep it on at first and then in the middle of the wash do I need to turn my sink back on to provide clean water for the rinse cycle? Help! haha.
@@megxdeeI turn it on after I connect the hose. And leave it on the whole time.
I bought it and had it not been for your video I could not have figured out how to use it thank you sooooooo much❤️
You’re reviews are so valuable and very detailed, much appreciated
The best review of this washer.
Thank you for watching! I appreciate you ☺️❤️
Appreciate the honest review. Helped me make up my mind.
Thank you for watching!
And can you use hot water?
Can you add water to it manually with a bucket ? I won't have access to water plug ins .
Please answer this because I’m curious too!!
I want to THANK YOU for this useful and informative video! I just ordered everything you recommended!!
Thank you for watching! :)
Thank you for the review, helpful tips and links to extra parts. You are awsome.
Thank you for watching! :)
Julia,
Thank you so much for this excellent review!
I am trying to get my sister to let me gift her a portable washer for her condo so I sent her your great video.
I'm worried about her using community laundry what with covid-19 plus it's just kind of gross to share anyway.
Thank you so much!
😀
Thank you for the a year review! 🧡🧡🧡
Thanks...
I love these small washer, they are awesome!!
Can you tell me if you had to buy a special adapter to attach it to the sink? Or did it come with that piece?
Thank you so much for making this very helpful video. A quick question. Can we manually add water instead of using the hose? Would it still spin and do the washing or filling water through the hose kicks start the process? We have Brita filters on all of our tabs so I would need to remove them every time we use this hose for the machine. Thanks :)
Thanks for your review! I love your accent!
Thank you! 😃
I don’t know the model of the hose, but the one I linked in the description is the one that I have and it works great:)
I’m gonna buy this so exited thank you
Thank you for watching!
Excellent review. A pop filter would be beneficial to your audio so that it does not sound so crunchy.
I'm really grateful for your review. I'm planning to get one asap. :-)
Thank you so much, Melissa :)
How much is your electric bill higher or same
I made a whole video showing electricity cost for the washer and dryer in the past few months: th-cam.com/video/zvPQtLgDBdQ/w-d-xo.html (washer barely takes any energy, it's super cheap to run)
@@JuliaCaban I’m going to do the same, love the washer so far. Appreciate your help!
Can you put the draining hose in the tub to drain instead of the sink?
I hope youre getting paid for this because this has sold me fr fr
If you can’t hook up water, will it beep an error, let you fill it manually with a kettle from the kitchen sink and then continue?
Happy New Year!
What is the difference between this version and the new one?
Happy new year!🎊 not much- no lint filter, different look, but nothing apart of it!
How do I fix the E1 error message? At the 19min mark, it stops, drains and shows "E1". Thanks for your help Julia!
Hello. Thanks for the great review. Do you remember what size furniture stopper you bought? I see on Amazon they have size 4, 6 and 8. Thank you!
Size 6!
Sorry if missed it, are you using only cold water for the machine or it can be used hot too? Thank you
Hey, any advice for sink hookups as far as ensuring thread and fit?
I bought mine from Amazon and I bought for $21 a multi-pack of different size pieces for the sink
You can add it manually as well
@@JuliaCaban Ok thank you for confirming 🙂
Portable dryer? Or small dryer suggestion?
Thank you for the video instructions/review.
Glad it was helpful!
How do you set the spin cycle longer? My clothes seem to be coming out a little too wet .
What sink adapter do you buy for it?
I linked it in the description:)
Can you use hot water or just cold all the time
You can, but it's not advisable to use it so I would be careful - I did it a few times and it was fine, but I usually just use cold water because it still gets all the stains out
Hey I have a question. Do you have to turn of the water when it’s washing ? Or do you just leave it running?
Love it, thank you!
Thank you for watching!
Very helpful review. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
So I have one similar and it says to drain water completely, but all I can do is get the water out of the hose. No idea how to get any other water out of it. Nictemaw xqb60-2010 if anyone knows how please share the insight.
Can I ask - how did you attach the new hoses? The one in have - the ends are metal and “crimped” onto the hose .. how do you remove them ?
I'm interested in buying one but I'm curious can this washer wash blankets?
Yes! I wash my blankets in this washer and they come out super clean.
Can you wash bed sheets. Twin size or queen size? One at a time even? Or pillow cases? Bath Towels?
I have king size sheets and they fit fine:) as well as bath towels I can fit 2-3 at the time.
Julia Caban Thanks!!! :)
If I don’t have actual running water in my home, can I just pour a bucket of water in the washer?
Yes u can
cici Davis yay! I live on The Navajo Reservation.... as you’ve probably seen on the news by now, a lot of the land don’t have running water.
as the user manual states.... clean the lint filter after each use... this is why shes having issues... read the manual
And what issues exactly did it cause?
Awesome video, question when you first turn on your water does it automatically turn off when the machine shuts off like a regular size washer then ? What I like about this machine is you don’t have to transfer the cloths to spin dry them .
Yes it does! You can leave the faucet on
Thank you for taking the time to a review on this machine
thanks for the great video! doesn't this washer come with a quick connect so you don't need adaptors?
What brand and model is it?
there was loud knocking sound when it rinses, looks like it is just from overloading :)
haha probably! ;)
How much was it your washer and it is up to 21 Ibs and did you buy it from Amazon
It was around $230
Great video any recommendations for a portable dryer? Do you use one?
Yes I do! Here's my review of the one I use all the time: th-cam.com/video/ivXs-ibx6KI/w-d-xo.html
What type of portable dryer do u have?
Hey, nice videos!
1. can you use hot water into the washer?
2. how do you clean it? What do you use? how often?
Thanks
I have a similar unit , I leave the lids open after use to air dry. The hose collects water so I find the need to re dump it again a day or two later.
Some portables do use hot water. And you’re supposed to do a load with bleach once a month to stop mold from growing in it
Question, does the machine heat the water? Or you put in hot water?
No, you should use cold water - but I tried doing hot water a few times and it was fine. It’s not great for clothes to use hot water so I stick with cold water anyhow ;)
@@JuliaCaban I see, ty for answering.
Hi, do you think that it could stand on top of bathroom desk? We have a built in sink and the only place we could fit it perfectly would be there. Does it "dance" / move around while working? Thank you.
I think it should be fine, but make sure the hose is not lower than the washer because the water will leak out and washer won’t fill up
do you turn your sink on and off when it needs to fill. then fill again to rinse ?
I keep it on at all times so it can fill without my input
Hi Julia,
Thank you so much for your review. I'm moving in to a new apartment that only has public laundry facilities. I don't know how comfortable I am with this, because we're in the middle of a pandemic. I really want to get one of these. My building has no elevator so can't imagine running up and down the stairs to do laundry. Is this a spin dryer too?
Dolores
Yes it's also a spin dryer! It works as well as a regular washer:)
Hi Julia,
Thanks so much for your reply. I'll definitely look in to yours. My apartment doesn't have a hookup for a washer/dryer. We have to use a public laundry room. I just have to look and make sure I can have one without breaking rules.
Dolores
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it :) Thank you Richard!
Hey Julia, I bought this washer after watching your reviews. For some reason, I keep getting an E1 error every once in a while. (I’ve had this machine for about 3 weeks). I didn’t have any leaks anywhere like the manual suggested. Did you ever encounter this problem?
Sounds like a lid error
I just received my washer and the first load went well. My second load is having problems. Is the water supposed to constantly run out and fill up? Cause mine is doing that every 5 min.
No it shouldn’t. Make sure the drain hose is higher than the washer - put it in the sink not on the ground.
@@JuliaCaban Thank you. I had mine in the bathtub. I'll try moving it to the sink.
Tfs great review
So when you plug into the faucet. How do you know how much water your putting in? Does it stop a certain point?
It stops the water automatically and it has sensors so it knows when its fully filled and then it starts the cycle
Do they sell a dryer too?
I was using much better quality automatic washing machine in Poland , ... - ... 50 years ago. - Still works !!!
How much energy does it consume? Did your bill go up by a significant amount?
We pay around $30 a month for electricity. We didn’t notice a significant jump after getting a washer and a dryer :)
Can you wash jeans, towels, sheets? About how many items can you fit in the washer?
Yes I do. Honestly I never count but I don’t feel like it’s ever too small
