I doubt this comment will get much attention, but I just wanted to let Petko know how much his videos affect his viewers. I have recently been diagnosed with type 2 bipolar disorder and currently trying different medications to help. The side effects of starting some of these make my symptoms worse, particularly the depression side. I spend most of my days crying uncontrollably and trying to manage my negative thoughts. I have to take each day as it comes, and count the hours until that day is over. To know that I have survived another day. There are few things that bring me joy, however knowing your videos come out at the beginning and end of the week helps me to keep going. Knowing that for 20 - 25 mins I’ll be able to have some respite from my troubles helps me through the lows. So, this is a thank you note from a viewer that has watched your channel grow from when you first started it in your apartment. God bless and may you continue to make many more videos

Have you considered getting a pet spider? They are incredibly low maintenance, and many tarantula keepers can confirm that they're incredibly therapeutic, its very interesting to watch then do spider things. They are in their own spider world in their spider minds and i spend hours a day just observing them. I bet it would help.

      Hi Lorna 👋🏼
Your comment broke my heart a bit.
I can empathise with how you are feeling. That extreme “low” feeling is extremely painful in a way that is hard to describe. It is such a lonely emotion, even if you are surrounded by people who care about you. I found it difficult to escape the feeling of hopelessness.
I am really glad you have a dog. I find pets and just animals in general, to be excellent therapy or emotional support.
I have been through a few different meds and have recently started a new type of medication, which, even though it is for anxiety, it gives me anxiety because of the potential of side effects that I would rather not have! But I feel like I have to give them a chance at least!
Anyway, I just wanted to say that I hope you start feeling better soon. I hope you find the right medication regime for you.
I have found watching animal videos and channels here on TH-cam, helps me to stop thinking overtime!
      Good luck Lorna. 🙏🏼

Snails and sliding door. I can see nothing going wrong with that :D
The snails will park on the door glass and then you can't open it easily. Those Achatinas (A. fulica?) can be quite stubborn at times and they are able to attach themselves on glass quite strongly. It won't be like impossible to open, just inconvenient.

I recently found out that it is a good idea to put a Cuttlebone (usually used with birds) in with your snails for an easy way to supplement the calcium and minerals that are not in the foods we give them!

    Dear Pet,
I wanted to thank you and Kat for helping me work past my fear of spiders. I still am terrified of some species (huntsman, brown recluse, and black widows), but I'm starting to get much better about it. Yesterday, I bought my first Juvenile Tarantula - a Brachypelma hamorii (Mexican Redknee)!
She is here to remind me of the passion that I had as a child when I would go outside in West Texas with my flashlight, sit on top of our propane tank, and watch the wild Aphonopelma hentzi's (Texas Brown Tarantulas) "fight" each other in the summer (it was mating season, child me!). She is also here to remind me of the joy that I had in Middle School when I adopted a Grammostola rosea (Rose Hair) for two weeks for a school science project and how disappointed our family was when we returned her after getting a 100 on my speech breaking down arachnid behaviors.
Tarantulas have always been fascinating to me, but my arachnophobia had always gotten the better of me. I think it was only a matter of time after I found both of your channels that I would bring a Tarantula into my home to help me get past the hurdles of my fear again. Your passion, love, and empathy for these little beings really helped me.
    Ashlea

I just love what you do honestly for these beautiful creatures. So many people refuse to even give them a chance or act as though because they’re smaller than us and not furry and cuddly like a cat or a dog that they don’t matter, but they deserve respect and they deserve to live, and in my opinion they are fascinating and gorgeous creatures that remind me just how effortlessly beautiful nature is. Thank you for sharing that with me, even if I don’t know you in person.

In my experience, the problem with housing giant african land snails with other species, is that the snails produce a lot of waste and water, turning the substrate in a unhygienic swamp. Once you have beetles, it is undesirable to chance the substrate very regularly, because there are beetle eggs inside.
