I got IMU error 2 times in mid-air on my P3, and it's very scaring, it drifts away, só i need to manually do a emergency return and landing on my own. The screen tilts about 30º, so do the phantom. It may be the case my IMU is needing a calibrate.

Which app did you use to check your phantom was perfectly level?
so I purchased a dji phantom 3 standard edition. it seems to fly ok but it will NOT auto launch / auto take off. it will auto land. it seems as soon as I start the motors the thing thinks its already off the ground the the icon for auto launch changes to auto land. is there a way to fix this or have I got a lemon and simply need to return it for an exchange?
Hi! did the cold IMU callibration after the new firmware update. since then the p4 have been starting to do warm-up's that last for around 2-3 min, any one else have the same problem and if so got any tip how to solve it?
I Have flown P3P for first time (forgot to calibrate IMU) and it flew fine. Is there any point to calibrate if nothing seems off?

hey...i have a phantom 4 ...i have a problem..my drone dont fly full forward as it should.. right, left and back works good...tried to calibrate the sticks, but didnt help...do you have some ideas..? :)
hi Tom PLEASE HELP, i know a lot of people have this same issue, i have a phantom3 4k and need to recalibrate my IMU, my controller has no usb port therefore i have no cable to connect my mobile phone to perform the calibration. i have tried many times times in various locations to perform IMU calibration through the wifi but the progress bar remain on 0% how can i calibrate IMU? thanks

Hi Tom can you pls help me i have a phantom 2 with the Zenmuse H3-3D gimbal and dji data link.I bought it used
and was told it had been in a crash .It was not a bad crash and looks good outside and inside .I have removed the gimbal and data link as to make it standard .it binds to the remote and picks up gps and the compass is calibrated .However it dose not seem to want to come down When in the air .And is very jittery almost like a car running out of fuel.And dose not want to land easily i have connected it to my pc and done a fiermware update and a IMU calibrations .it is running on the Naza -m mode .

I've got error code -50 when trying to calibrate imu. Two red solid lights under drone too which indicates critical but I've never had a crash. Will be sending back soon. Anyone know any fixes before I send?

I'm a ham radio operator. I want to use my Phantom 4 to put a small line up into a tall tree then haul up a heavy line to support a 102' wire antenna. Is it possible to use the Phantom 4 to do that? I'm thinking fishing line type maybe 50 lb test line. comments?

I was wondering where the actual IMU for the camera gimbal on the Phantom is? I presume this is a separate IMU from the copter.

Yes. And it is even more important, since the P3 have only one IMU.
One advice,- instead of checking the table/platform for insurance of the leveling of the copter use glass plate on top of the motors as the copter it self has very good ability to be unleveled based on the position of the legs.

No...not every time...if you are facing unstable hover and frequent compass errors than calibrate the IMU on a level surface far away from EM interference

When I do an IMU calibration it has me turning the drone on its side, back, front, and top. Why is this different from what you just showed?
Tom Kelly: The first couple times I tried this it just sat there after the forth step.Then I noticed looking closely that it was waiting for me to flip on its backside. I think it was step 4 where it had stopped (4/6)doing anything. In the sunlight I was not able to see the picture clearly and that it wanted me to turn it. Look at the pictures very closely as you are calibrating. Don't worry, you can't mess anything up, cause eventually you'll get it straightened out. Once I knew this it whizzed right through the calibration. Second word of advise: Find a surface that is SOLID and cannot move. I did mine on the cement slab in my driveway, when I had tried inside my house on a table, the table moved enough to throw it off as I was turning it. Make sure the surface is perfectly level and stable. I ended up with almost zero's when I was done. Hope this helps!

Basically yes. It looks a little different though, as the P3 has a single IMU only, but the procedure is the same. Stay tuned and fly safe.

My only problem was understanding the word "sensor" as I took it as "center"... FYI us NBie's have to have a slow, even, clearly visual clue to allow us to follow you thru the steps... Or maybe it's just me...
No, it's not just you. I had to replay that section 5 times. I still heard 'centre' and it was only your post that clarified it for me. I also find the TTT Toms Techtime really irritating and childish.
If it appears your IMU Calibration is stuck on 2 you need to *DO WHAT THE PHOTO ON THE LEFT SIDE OF YOUR SCREEN SHOWS.* You have to physically mimmic the picture.
This is totally different from the DJI 4 app
