great to see you back man.... since your previous video I built my own van, sold everything that i didn't need and have been full time van dwelling for 15 months now. Take care and keep the videos coming :)
Pro tip... use a hole saw drill to cut 3/4 plywood rounds, then holes in the foam for heavy duty screw anchor points fastened with gorilla glue. Simple, fast extremely solid, minimalist method.
I just recently found your Chanel. Love the work you do. 1bit of advice I can give on the van. If it doesn't have a TPMS, get an aftermarket one that supports 7 wheels, I have a dually sprinter of about the same size, and have had the inboard tired get low or blown out without knowing untill it took out the outboard tire. But good luck on the trip and can't wait to see more videos from you guys
I’m a little late to the party. You seem like a rather intelligent guy. I think that this is a rather timely smart move for you both. I think you’ll do fine where ever you land. You would be a great asset to any company or business.
Hey! I found your channel just in time before I start down the road of some foam building projects. I know in your first video (that I saw) you say the hot knife was a game changer for cutting the foam board, but then in the 3rd or 4th video it looked like you switched/upgraded to a different tool to cut. Do you mind telling me what your current favorite tool is for carving foamboard? Thanks for providing some content and inspiration!
Never mind! Found the answer in the Q&A. If anyone else was curious though, I think this is the link: hotwirefoamfactory.com/035I-Industrial-6-in_Indust_Hot-Knife.html
@NØMAD did you know that in Europe we have a company call gernica doing exactly this type of sandwich Wood foam panels ? It's call garnica ultralight I should have done it with this can of material 😊 Love your videos
I’m not familiar with that brand, but yes, I am aware of the premade foam panels like that. They are quite expensive (compared to making your own), in my system you don’t always need the wood (just foam and screen and sometimes just foam is enough). Also, with the wood already on, cutting these sheets is more difficult than cutting foam alone (when using a hot knife). In my recent “Foam Bones Building System Vol 1” I cover why I like working with the raw foam rather than those type panels. I even show an example of those panels online. Thanks for your interest!!
@@falkornomad thanks for your answer. I just discover your channel. I have started from the start of your adventure video of building with foam 😅 I am not at volume 1 yet
Congrats on the next part of your adventure. Don't think of it as a van so much, but as a land boat. If you end up in Iowa at some point, give a holler. We've got a great maker space where you could do some CNC carving, laser cutting, wood working, or welding if you needed it for your project. Safe travels otherwise.
Dometic CRX-1110S 3.8 CU FT AC/DC Refrigerator… I mainly selected it based on the fact that it is self-rectifying (can take AC & DC power at the same time and it will use AC only when it has it… this is a complicated conversation explained here: th-cam.com/video/gm-GIeVuqkM/w-d-xo.html if you care… if you just want to see the fridge, it’s here: www.suremarineservice.com/CRX-1110S.html
Sorry, no… we have a “fridge” in the kitchen area, and a “cooler” in the “garage” area. The “cooler” is this one (maybe???) for some reason I thought it was larger than 62qt but can not check the facts at the moment. This application was also selected for its self rectifying ability, as mentioned in the video linked above. www.whynter.com/product/fm-62dz/
lawd, the amount of ums and uhs in this made this more torture than education, sir. thank you for your dedication. please keep improving your communication tactics.
Been waiting for this video for a long time. You have convinced me to follow the foam way.

Considered that option but wanted to follow these anchors down the rabbit hole
