Full Flight: American Airlines A319 Pittsburgh to Dallas (PIT-DFW)

- Hey guys! Welcome to another trip and another full flight video! This time, I travel aboard the one and only American Airlines down to Dallas, Texas from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on one of their A319s. This was also the last flight where I at least viewed American as a decent airline, but it all changes in the next video as you'll see soon. As far as this A319 and the hard product onboard, it's not great and they definitely have some better products on other A319s of theirs. The legroom is pretty bad and Spirit-like...which after 2 1/2 hrs with two people next to you (meaning I can't get up), it gets pretty tight in that seat. I thought the crew on the flight were good and coupled with an on time departure & arrival, in seat power outlets, a bagged snack/drink service, and a really healthy collection of entertainment options, this particular flight wasn't all that bad, if it were normal times. Unfortunately, these aren't normal times and American does jack diddly squat when it comes to safety precautions, except enforcing a mask requirement and bagging snacks. But, overall it was a fair flight, I thought, and fairly enjoyable. Hope you guys - enjoy! :D

Great video man! I think what I really liked was the sort of intro montage to Pittsburgh with the music. I think this kind of thing would be great to incorporate for each city you take off from ! Loved the weather radar too. I'm interested in weather, and love to see what conditions are before takeoff and at the current conditions at the landing destination. Can't wait for more vids!

I flew through Dallas in July and it was the first time in DFW airport. Finding the Skylink was probably the hardest.

Nice vid. I wonder why landings with Airbus aircraft are smoother than the Boeings'. A funny thing happened to me when I went to Paris - it was an A330 and I was expecting a smooth landing, but it seems that the pilot threw the plane onto the tarmac. The flight back was the same. The flight was Aigle Azur (bankrupted company), flying VCP-ORY-VCP in December 2018. Thanks for sharing.

The uniqueness of it! 2 rivers coming together to form one, the sports teams, how it's literally in a valley with hills all around it, the people, it's a very green city with lots of trees and outdoor activities, the food, the skyline, etc. Just an awesome place to live!
@@thejazzguy13 I strongly agree with you. Pittsburgh's paradise for me. In fact, I could probably write an entire encyclopedia on my favorite aspects of that delightful city. Some of my favorite aspects are as follows:
- The fact you are from there (you are so awesome)
- Fred Rogers' presence there
- All 446 of the elegant bridges
- Aesthetic greenery
- An extraordinary airport
- Four distinct and gorgeous seasons
- Creativity as far as the eye can see
- So many outdoor activities from The Three Rivers alone and plenty more beyond that
- The super friendly residents
- It has its own language with its own dictionary
- WQED
I am hoping to visit (or even move to for that matter) to Pittsburgh.
Something that wasn't mentioned by Jazzguy or any commenters is the middle seats not being blocked off--I'm thinking SWA is promising their middle seats are guaranteed to be blocked until I believe,end of October. Looking at the vendors in the airside part of PIT,wondering if the employees have to go through the same security process as you did? AA has gone down in my airline favorites simply because their MD-80's were retired last year--I would purposely book AA to see family in AZ merely because I knew I would fly 'S80's IAH-DFW-TUS RT,seat 27A! For the time being,DL is my airline of choice,their SkyMIles don't expire since I haven't flown in almost 6 years

I was a ramper in PIT for 37 yrs. Transfered to DEN for 3 yrs and retired 2019.
I remember PIT as a crew base. I used to supply weather and releases to the captains, among other jobs. What a ride!!!

I believe they use these tram cars like at DIA
Pit does, but at DIA you can walk to the gates without using the tram. You can't do that in PIT.

I'm flying on American in a few weeks and called customer service in regards to the same concern and the supervisor told me you can't really do much social distancing on a plane so now all seats are open and available on the plane.
joshua luckie Thanks vey much for the info! American sounds like they are being just a little lazy about the whole issue.
Delta Is the best hands down when it comes to social distancing followed by Southwest in that order. American wants full planes and the only barrier between you and the person next to you is that mask.

I miss crowds
I used to enjoy trips to Dallas except for the summer heat. But then several horrible experiences ruined it for me, mostly due to weather related delays, cancelled flights, and hotel shuttle experiences. Just haven't flown there lately but am almost afraid to!

Yeah, I'm flying with AA in Oct/Nov and all my flights (5 in total) are nearing full compacity. AA is putting profit over safety.
Why would you say that? Another thing, you have no idea if the flights are full near to capacity unless you are looking directly into their computer system.
I have flown 3 times on AA since the plague started and I am booked on two more flights, one in October and one in December.
