    We travelled through DFW Jan 5 & Jan 21. Jan 5 we had 2+hrs and made our way casually from Arrival Gate to Departure Gate. The connection was so tight coming home on Jan 21, we wouldn't have made it without this video... Before we embarked on our journey, I watched this video countless times. What gates are close to Skylink, which way to turn if we come in gate A? vs C? or D? vs B? etc. to get to Skylink and the proper departure gate. Ended up landing at C7 with minutes to get to A10. Off plane, Turn Left, Up Skylink Escalator, Take Outer Loop, 2nd Stop, Go Down Skylink Escalator turn right Run like Nuts to Gate A10 for the WIN 😎We made it because of your video! Thank You and Subscribed!

      Same here. This video saved our hides. Watched many times before the trip just like OP to get sorted out. Also checked our flight usual arrival and depart gates for added confidence. We made it with just enough time to visit the restroom.

    Thank you for this. I am an OCD preplanner. I love that I now have an idea of where everything is. How it is laid out. The ease of getting from terminal to terminal. Last time I flew through DFW we were in a group and it was hustle hustle hustle due to the shortness of the layovers that my work had booked. I am flying through here again for pleasure and I am hoping that there are no delays leaving MI so I have my full layover to just explore. I want to check out terminal D and the sky train. I love that this video put my mind at ease on how everything seems so straight forward. GRR can fit in the walk way between terminals 😂😂

    Thanks for taking the time to do all that walking. I have never been to DFW, but plans are to pass through there in Sept. It was nice to get an idea of how things are there. That place is huge. Enjoyed it.

    I'm a DFW fan! Never got lost and transit from terminal-to-terminal via Skylink is actually enjoyable! Unlike so many others, it runs outside in the sun!

      @@revellaleif1212 Skylink is what Dallas's airport calls their people mover. It's the train you use once you're past security to move between terminals. It runs automatically every few minutes, so you can hop on whenever!

    Nice to see DFW. I will go there in august 2023. So this helps me a lot to get familiar around the airport. Only one question, are there any smoking areas along the way? I know, it's a bad habbit..........

    I think what this video does not show is how easy and quick it is to enter and exit the terminals and how quick terminal to terminal can be. The video is walking the length of the terminals, but that's not how the airport works. You enter the terminals from the inside of the semi circles. Check in and security ate very close and then you enter right where your gate is. There's usually not a long walk down the corridors if your enter where your gate Is located. There are also 2 skylink terminals at each terminal,so it is actually quick to tranfer to even far away terminals and gates instead of the longwalks one usually has to make. It is mostly human scale as well. Only terminal d has that soaring glass big roof look. So its almost like 5 small airports instead of the central corridor and spoke model.

    • @MilesByFoot
      @MilesByFoot  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely. Starting your trip in Dallas is easy; pick the terminal where your gate is then go through security. However, if you have a gate change, or if you're connecting, it can be helpful to know where things are in relation to one another. This is a full airport walk; my regular tour goes over the landside process in more detail! :)

      Yeah DFW has a nice security set up, each concourse has its own check in and takes minutes to get through security and baggage claim is right outside your same concourse unlike ATL, 1 massive check in and bag claim area. Takes forever

    This is my home airport. The only thing I don't like about the design is the access roads for public traffic. All entrances are off to your left when you pass the toll booths. If you miss your entry point, you have to go to the next one and drive all the way around that building, go past the one BEFORE it too and then make another attempt! It feels like it takes hours to do. Why can't they just install a roundabout between the buildings?

    • @MilesByFoot
      @MilesByFoot  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Roundabouts would solve such a problem; I'm a big fan of them. Thanks for the insight!

    • @MilesByFoot
      @MilesByFoot  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because it's past security, and you need a ticket to go through TSA, it's not accessible without one :(
