@@rebuildrevival If you don't mind can you tell me what cable I need to hook it up to a desktop or laptop? I see where to download INSTA+ online though bimmerfest. I have an E60/N54 with only one code that means timing is off by more than one tooth, cranks and sputters every so often but doesn't start. It had ingested oil after an oil line blew on the highway when it shut off. Towed home and took spark plugs off, chambers had oil in them. What's your thought on this?
@@Hector-Romero The connector I use is the ICOM Next, you can find them on Ebay. If your timing jumped, then you should really get that fixed first or risk damaging your engine further!
Ya it was bad! I may pull the oil pan and check the rod and main bearings but I got a really good deal on an N52 that is in a lot better shape, plus I think it will make for some good content!
What a great channel. I am trying to figure out the same thing on a 328i X drive N51 Sulev. I just had a problem where the Mahle brand oil filter oring gave up the ghost and it was dumping oil. I thought I caught it in time but then it was smoking, and then it didn't start all of a sudden. Going to go check for a wad of metal in the oil filter. Two points: 1 be thankful it is not the Xdrive what a disaster and 2 the N51 is rated to 230 hp vs the N52 which is 215. But that is FCP Euros numbers when I select parts, my Bentley manual they are both 230hp but the N52 has .7 more compression ration. Please show the steps to replace this engine I may be in the same boat.
Thanks appreciate it, the N51 has a variable length intake manifold which gives it a better torque curve but the N52 has a higher compression ratio, when you utilize the N51 Intake manifold on the N52 it gives you the best of both worlds. The video on the process will be posted soon and if you have any specific questions that aren't covered in the video just reach out!
Excellent diagnosis, looking forward to your next.
Hey thanks, we’re going deep in the next one!
That software looks awesome.
There are guys out there that can set it up for you or you can download it yourself. Really helpful!!

I need one of those camera 👍
I couldn’t believe how much better it was than the one for my Autel!!
Wow haven’t seen cams in such shape before. Are you going to put the same engine? Nice video!
Hey Thanks! I’ll be putting in an N52, this car came with an N51. Look out for the that video coming soon!
I was going to say that this 100% seems salvageable. If you properly flushed the engine, maybe with diesel, then I saw you pull the oil filter, LOL.

@@rebuildrevival A teardown would be interesting to see how the rest was affected.
What happened to this poor thing 😂
Nonetheless, great content buddy!
Hey thanks! Thats why you need to keep up with your oil changes!😬
@ exactly 👌🏻
