    TOP TIP! In the bottom of your sink, place a towel or cloth for the time you're cleaning and the watch slips out of your hand. Whoops! Ask me how I know!? Otherwise this is on par with what I do for cleaning, though I use jewelry cleaning and small detailing brushes (makeup brushes), same blower setup as well and micro-fiber cloth. Thanks for the great video!

    I am 61 now andI have owned Omega JLC Rolex and countless dozens of other watches and currently have the GO SeaQ panorama date. All of them have been scrubbed under a lukwarm tap with fairy liquid all over. I have done this for the last 50 years from my first watch aged 10 with absolutely no issues and its absolutely fine for all watches with sufficient water resistence. I certanly never have used that blowy thing and a hair dryer!!! Good god man. :). This said its good to hear a no nonsense way of washing your watch. Ive seen so many ridiculous and silly ways of doing this on youtube. PS. Love your vlogs and I do hope you have returned to rude good health.

    Good video. A baby toothbrush is better than a “soft” kids one, these are properly soft for gently cleaning gums and tiny baby teeth.

    I use Molton Brown hand wash and works a treat (just happens to be the preferred hand soap at home.. You don't need that little blower - just blow away any excess droplets yourself with your own lungs man, then use microfibre and fine cloth to finish. I'd avoid a toothbrush - no matter how soft - especially on those with outer AR coating. Last but not least, I trust you are well on the mend Andrew.

    An Eeyore brush would have been more appropriated for an English watch channel :). Jokes aside, thanks for sharing. I just bought a 3861 Moonwatch and was hesitant to wash it. I wonder if PH neutral soaps found in automotive detailing would be suitable. Good vid, thank you! :)

      Try using a bit of hand soap on a microfibre cloth. Lemon juice or a spot of spirit vinegar may also work. Give it a good wash and dry afterwards.

    I'm not so precious with my Sinn 556s or Tudor BlackBay 58. Little bit of dishwashing liquid, rub it under lukewarm water, a try cloth and there you go
    But I would never put my 1998 SpeedMaster under the tap. I know it's not squeaky clean, but did Buzz Aldrin have time to wash his Speedmaster during the Apollo flights anyway ?

    Where did you get the orange strap for the Speedy? Have an Omega P/O 43.5 and need a summer strap, running into many dead ends for it. Rubber is ideal but that’s a cool piece

    No need for dryer or blower. If you wear the watch your natural body hear will quickly cause any moisture to evaporate.

    • @michaelriera6277
      @michaelriera6277 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have you ever swam with your watch or showered with it? Did the watch remain wet for very long? Your body’s natural heat will cause evaporation of moisture. Similar to the way heat is dissipated when you perspire. Point is a towel dry and then simply wearing the watch will have it completely dry in less than a minute. However if you blow drying it makes you happy then go ahead.
