You spoil us! Another near full 20 minutes of TH-cam's most underrated voice artist, the smooth and understated Mr. Anton Browne! Edit: A PG48 was my first mic purchase. I used it (of all things) for voiceover work for an online web series back in 2008. Truly magic of the microphone it sounds as good as it does here.
I know it would not be used in a professional setting, and is more meant for an XLR karaoke setup, but the PGA48 sounds like it takes out just enough of the crispness and keeps most of the clarity. I like the sound and it feels more "real" if that makes sense. It's not a bad sound to me at least :)
Hey anton,! love your videos, i was wondering what gain levels you were using for the tests because i recently acquired a pg48 and was wondering if i could get some settings to make it sound the best i can, have a nice day!
I think the best you can do is adjust it by trial and error, I put the lows at around 6 and the highs at around 5 and this setting was the best for my voice and distance I use
Probably the most fair evaluation of the PG48 I have found, considering I only plan to talk and have a nasal voice I think my PG48 will probably be fine, Its still a step up from microphones companies threw in free with educational software, Or worse the built in microphone on a Dell notebook.
Believe it or not; it might not sound "great", but what this mic pulled out of you at the end of the video are some my favorite vocal stylings I've heard from you thus far.
Haha. I literally have no idea why you almost immediately just laugh at it. My ears don't work like yours. Haha. I've laughed at lots of photos people think are "great pics," though! So interesting how our senses are refined in different ways!
I guess that's why it's endlessly fascinating and why you have to try for yourself but... that's so difficult with so many options available. I think that's partly why the SM58 lives on and on.
@@AntonBrowne I get that. Oh, and by the way, just the mere act of listening to you has opened my ears up to recognize so much more nuance than I ever had before. It’s awesome and I thank you!
I think my life is a bit better for finding this guy

I have a pga48 and i confirm the capsule are identical with pg48
Thanks.
It would help if you labeled the mics with a number or something so we knew which one you were using when your talking/singing into them.

The businessy laptops tend to have better-than-you-think mics actually. They make a lot of cheap mics pointless.

I love your humour
We have to be careful with asses.
This is what I learned from this video.
"Who do you think you're fooling?" 😄 I got a PGA48 to provide some vocal accompaniment to my electric kazoo performances.
Buenas tardes señores quisiera pedirles un favor ,alguien me puede decir para qué sirve el tornillo que tiene el micrófono shure pg48
