I live in the heart of Los Angeles. It takes lots and lots of gear shifts to get to an open freeway like your Long Island Expressway section. Once there, my RT would be a better choice....but, like you said, if it is not 90 degrees.

I have a beemer RT and an Africa Twin DCT. The must have accessory? Sad, my beemer is the hanger queen. DCT “accessory” wins hands down!

I must have highway pegs! I don’t care what kind of bike, if I can’t stretch out, and change my leg positions, I ain’t riding it.
