    Hi Mapalo❤️I don't think you understand the level of wisdom I've received from you. Thank you so much, honestly I really appreciate you on these youtube streets. Would it be possible for you to do a video on Retirement annuities vs long term investments. I've been involved in some chats about which is better and so I'm trying to do my research now. I'm still quite young however I know the costs increase the longer you wait. It would be much appreciated. Thank you for all your content. Every video is so enlightening ❤️Much love

    I have a balloon on my car as MFC wanted a deposit which I didn't have at the time, BUT, i took the balloon payment amount divided by the term of the loan and I am saving that amount monthly so that when the time comes to pay it I will have the cash on hand, and it is in a 32 day notice account so I won't easily be able to access that money.

    • @CuanPrince

      In addition the installment of the car and insurance is less than 15% of my take home, so it is not necessarily the case that a balloon payment that I was not able to afford the car.

      I love this perspective. You have a PLAN and you're making sure the funds are not easily accessible.

    Hi Mapalo, thanks for the insightful content. I agree to all the facts stipulated. I had applied most in my life and its always been easy navigating around my finances. I'm not a big fan of debts taking into account that there are healthy debts as well. I always want to maximise all opportunities be it keeping my car longer while paid off and not replacing it with another ISA which becomes a revolving credit. I also run the risk of losing on investment opportunities since I always want to pay off my debt quicker so I can move to investing 100%.

    I enjoyed this video. I love the financial content. May God bless our financial content creators/TH-camrs. Years back I used to love payday loans 😅, oh my goodness 😮🫣I’m even embarrassed what was I thinking 🤔 😅. I would live off bo Wonga 😂. I am happy I’m out and it’s been years and when I look back it was for useless things ‘living beyond my means 😢’
    That’s one financial mistake I’ve made.

    Not reading the paperwork for all financial contracts you get into. My colleague got car insurance and she says she agreed to an excess of R9k.
    She recently got into an accident and find out that the insurance schedule says excess is R29k. She didn't read it if they sent it to her initially ..

    I have to disagree with the balloon payment statement..: sorry I don’t believe in owning a car. It’s not an investment so we use it for a few years who wants to keep a car for 7 year. not me .But love you sis. I agree with most of your statements. ❤

      I am interested in knowing more about your way of thinking with regards to this.
      Care to share how you have managed this ?

    • @bongekantaka5594
      @bongekantaka5594 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@simanoxolo Sure, finance the car over 72 months with a balloon so you can pay the lowest instalment possible. (Keeping in mind you have NO intention in owning the car) You pay off most of your interest in two years on your 3rd year you are breaking even. Meaning the value of you car and your settlement are almost even. On your third year mark I can almost guarantee you are sick of that car you go to a dealership of your choice trade that car in, get a brand you car still under motor plan etc. No matter how you look at it a car is never an asset unless you are making money from it. You want to pay the lowest instalment possible cause you will never ever make a profit from it at the end.

      The opportunity cost of that route is that you lose an opportunity to own the vehicle and actually save on the instalment costs that can be invested somewhere else. Some vehicles are reliable brands and can last you for more than 10 years.... there's a different perspective if you using the vehicle for business purposes

    When it comes to cars, people love ,BRAND NEW CARS SO THEY CAN SHOW OFF ON SOCIAL MEDIA” to people who either don’t like them, wish them well or even care.
    There are so many good second hand cars that you can get for like R45,000-R80,000 that you can either pay cash for or pay Half that and pay the rest in small monthly payments for either 12-18months at most. 😅😅😅
    I personally don’t have a car at the moment and I want to get a small second hand car and pay for it in cash because I am one person who doesn’t like owing or being in debt for whatever reason.
