LOVE THE VID. TINMAN!! you have SO MUCH GREAT KNOWLEDGE and dont mind sharing!! Ive had a PASSION for Power Saws going on 48 years...the VERY FIRST TIME i got to hold one and wasn't even old enough to pull rope on it! It just ALWAYS AMAZED me how something so small could SCREAM SO LOUD!! ive worked on everything from hotwheels to class 8 trucks...made money as a 13 year old boy that could rebuild a Roosemaster injection pump...i was HELL BENT to learn and cram as much as i possibly can in my lifetime...but i said all that to say this...Ive NEVER had a PASSION for anything but Power Saws!! And it started with 371 Husky...( still have the saw BTW) BUT that was the first saw that made me Drool 🤤. Ive never had a 394 but i want one and its on my "Bucket List" Great job my friend...keepem' coming!!
Im excited to see the swap video! For some reason stuff like that really intrigues me! :) great video Tinman! Ive got a sachs dolmar 133 and 143 showing up today, so those are prolly gonna be the next saws on my bench! :)
I also really wish meteor or Hyway would build a cylinder for the 394. How would we go about trying to get them to make the castings to make it happen? I have a few decent 394 cylinders currently I could send to get scanned so they could make a casting.
Whats stopping you from getting a CAD drawing done of the intake block and having one machined out of a suitable material, someone small scale might have the time to knock out a batch. Wolf creek could sell em for sure if they’re that common for failure. Keep it up tinman 💪
And if you are only rocking a single ring... well you know the gig. Also look at the 200 series and how husqvarna designed for mix and matching parts. Nice to have it confirmed though. TC Mahalo Tinman 🤙🤙🤙 On a side note I still can't get that 272xp I rebuilt to run. If has spark, compression, fuel. I swapped out top ends, carbs, mag with a working saw no go. I advanced the timing and tried to retard the timing... no go... very frustrating project. The only thing I have not done yet is change the new crank with a NWP new crank. You once said there are about six different mags for these saws, that would be a good comparison video and what or how the difference mags effect runability.
And also, I hope you were able to convince someone to manufacture an aftermarket cylinder for the 394. Mines scraped up but I got no choice but to use it.
Thanks again Tinman more knowledge for hungry for saw stuff
Awesome! Never had the two of them in my hands but also assumed they used the same piston.

Love the vids Tinman!......Where'd our "She cuts eh?" guy go from the intro?.....I thought it was a nice Canadian touch.
Just a different version of the intro. I'll put him back in for the next vid.

Nice close up details on those pistons. Anyone with a question on the comparison of them should have all the answers. Be safe my friend.
When you build the394 crazy saw build a dule exhaust for it like a hot rod 😅
IIRC Kensie did Jonsered 920 with Husqvarna 288 piston, but needs decent amount of machine work.
394 piston no doubt, because the rings aren’t able to snag in the intake flow port, the 395 might by the looks of it ✌️
I wish hyway or meteor would build a flat top cylinder for the 066. But wish in one hand and you know the rest. 😂
Hyway 395 Big Bore kit with a pop up piston runs great.
@@jasonmercer9962 im gonna disagree only because i have one and its to be desired. Very lame. Pop up piston also.
Love this tinman

Cheers bud, nice vid. 👍
Great video very interesting. If You were going to buy a Husqvarna in the 40 cc range which model would you pick? Thx

Time is always the enemy for this fella. No time for sude projects lol
@@tinmanssaws your preaching to the choir mate
Intake side piston skirt are different designs,
Tinman I want to send you a spacer so you can put a 288 piston in your jonsered 920.
The rings are located or clocked different, and may not work

There's are about 4 different cranks amd 6 different flywheels. The timing on flywheels are different in some cases.
@@tinmanssaws So how do I tell the mags apart or identify them? So I can try a different one.
a 394xp intake block can be totally made up on a 3d printer!
Try that highway popup piston in there. I’m curious
And also, I hope you were able to convince someone to manufacture an aftermarket cylinder for the 394. Mines scraped up but I got no choice but to use it.
Bagus
Cuma beda manipoelnya ya bos. Berarti kalau di pasang di bodi 394 harus sama karburatornya ya bos
Busy picked up a husky 285cd locked up any suggestions?
can I buy that 394 from you after you finish this build. ?
Are you porting while it’s apart?
Yes
How's the Tinman and family
Just
