Thanks for your Instrution…many Months, the Assembly set was under the workplace….now i did it….just Perfect fit and exact shifting…greatings from Switzerland, Martin….. I subsequently made the following improvements: 1. I drilled a 2mm hole between the two clamping screws and secured it with a split pin….2. I put an additional hexagon screw in the mounting sleeve of the shifting link arm. I drilled a 2mm hole on the screw head in advance so that I could secure the screw connection with wire. In Switzerland we say...better safe than sorry….
Hey man I’ve been watching your videos for going on months now. At first I thought you were just another garage mechanic hack like the rest of us. But the more I watch your videos you can really build some amazing trucks man. Just wanted to stop in and give you props. You really turned these trucks around with out cutting corners. Learned a lot from you 👍
Way better than a damn cable linkage. That was crisp snapped right in place no slop in the shifter. Definitely gonna replce my 69 c-10 linkage for one like this.
Thanks! Your video helped me to see what I was doing wrong.... I didn't tighten the bolts so the linkage just slipped down the lokar arm...Now it works! THANKS! God Bless! 🙏
Lookin good Gib! Way different than my 63’. Im running a 69’ 427 Tri Power/Turbo 400 drive train and using the Corvette shifter (cable), I had to have a lengthened cable built. Fun stuff! Great video
I've subscribed to you Gibson63. Haven't seen all your videos but I have watched all the blue truck restoration so far. You do good work ole buddy. I have enjoyed all I have seen so far. And I'm a Tennessee boy too. Working on a 65 Ford myself. Keep em coming.
First of all, thank you for showing me how to hook this up- mine didn't come with instructions. Question - I will not have any way for my gear indicator thing to line up now, right? I can live with it but wanted to ask...
Hi man , i have a 1969 c10 manual , do you think that it’s a good idea to swap to An automatic original pieces for the same engine is it complicated? What are the issues, do i have to change the pedals? Please answer thanks 🙌🏻
Have you had any trouble with yours? I had my arm that connects the rod and slides on the transmission deal come off. Taking about a nightmare, I’ve been trying to see what others have done
I installed same kit but every time I accelerated hard it would go into neutral because of worn but not shot body bushings. The rigidity of that kit I really like but I got to do more work before it can be used again.
Nice. Does there need to be some sort of reverse lockout? Is it possible to bump / jam into reverse while headed down the road? Building a truck for my girlfriend :)
Looks like the arm you from CPP is at like a 10 o clock position maybe 9. Do you know if this is a same for a 69 Chevy? I got a 350. I originally installed it with a 11o clock position and it broke off.
Is this going from a 3 speed (3 on the tree) manual transmission and steering column to a th350? I have a 1976 c10 that has a 3 on the tree manual and I want to swap it for a th350 and Im looking into a kit so I dont have to swap steering columns.
I know this is an old video, but it looks like you used this kit on a manual shift column? Not having to replace the column when converting to auto would be great.
So I was driving and hit a pot hole the arm that connects to the transmission came off so I was stuck on drive lol any trick so it can stay on for future driving
How did you figure out the back up light switch? I am doing the same thing with the 3 on the tree column as well as American auto wire re wire. Let me know ! Did the original back up switch work ?
This might be a solution. I’m still doing the re wire so I’m not there yet. www.speedwaymotors.com/Lokar-BL-1400U-Neutral-Safety-Switch-or-Back-Up-Light-Switch-Kit,43362.html?sku=4911400&CSEGoogle&CSE&CSEGOOGLE&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIlempjdzH5QIVyh-tBh2E6gabEAQYAyABEgLb3PD_BwE
I’d have to check that out ,everything seem to tighten up pretty good on mine, my dad still drives this truck twice a week seems to be doing OK, just make sure yours isn’t in a bind anywhere that could cause a problem
Mr Gibson ! Is this the grey primered c/10 in all your other videos ?! Ive been watching a lot of this truck, I just bought a 62 chevy short bed fleet side and im 100% new to body and mechanics work LOl So youre kinda my best friend at the moment !!! Howdy from Houston,Texas!
@@Gibson63. ahhh ok im just a little late on your videos !!! I wish I coulda been your camera man all this time to learn stuff. My 62 is...fresh from the Pasture? LOL bought it off craigslist and im so new to this but im also anxious as all get out ! Your videos are my bread n butter for knowledge! Thank you so much for sharing !
Is that the old standard 3 in the tree column if it is I'm doing the same thing I dont want to pull out my original column ,I'm going automatic and trashing that standard trans..
I like how the adjustment is changed to clear a larger brake booster; though I lost faith in CPP products after purchasing & installing their products, they buy from numerous chinese companies then resale for a profit in America. Always ended up throwing away the CPP parts and purchasing a better brand that is made in USA. Also CPP customer service & tech center is worthless. They never get one order correct and never accepted a return.
You're my main go to when it comes to restoring my 66 C10. Thank you for all your videos and work.

Just completed my conversion using the same kit. It took the play out of the column shift lever. Now it's just like new. Great Video! Keep em coming!
This is one of the better videos for the installation process of a Lokar ACA-1800 kit.
Man, I sure appreciate these videos! I'm about to pull the trigger on a 62 and these videos are priceless. Thanks!
Best videos out there for this stuff. I'm building a 68 and most of your videos cross generations . Thanks for keeping them coming
Saw your video and bought one for my 85 and 70 c10. Works perfectly. Way better that stock set up. Thanks for the video.
Yes!!! I follow this truck religiously. You are an artist.
Way better than a damn cable linkage. That was crisp snapped right in place no slop in the shifter. Definitely gonna replce my 69 c-10 linkage for one like this.
im glad you are back to making videos! thank you!!!
Nice job looked like everything went good, nice to see a few videos again

You do great work. Going to be a sweet truck 👍
Let's get started! Can't wait to see it on the road. Take us for a drive!
thanks for the video - looks good - I am putting a 6L80 into a 66 chevelle with column shift

Looks like that project went well. Good job Gibson.
Awesome setup thank you for the video
Nice and clean. Happy Thanksgiving
I like that kit. You always do a great job.
First of all, thank you for showing me how to hook this up- mine didn't come with instructions. Question - I will not have any way for my gear indicator thing to line up now, right? I can live with it but wanted to ask...
that should work for a floor shift as well???
Thank you!

Nice... one step closer, cheers, Doug

Good video! Thanks for the easy to understand descriptions and details. 3thumbsup!
Happy Thanksgiving .

Nice and clean brother. Great vid as usual
Great video, Looking Good!!! Hope you and your family have a good Thanksgiving!!!!
bobby elee Thanks
Hello Bud Just picked up a 1973 Chevy Long bed C10 need a trans linkage kit were did you purchase ?
Thank you!! Your video made it so easy for me to do mine!
You do nice work very thorough 👍
You know its a good vid when comments are enabled. Lol disabled comments means to many negative views.
Are you using a Manual Transmission column? Does it work with an automatic trans?
Killer job brother
Lookin good man, Merry Christmas!
Thanks man merry Christmas to you and your family

That’s something I’m going to work on with this shifters this is just a quick way for me to get going down the road for now
Nice! Keep us posted. Keen to see how you do it.
That sounds like something that would have to be incorporated into your column for under $100 I wouldn't expect it to.
Thanks for this video brother appreciate it

Mohd Bohamad Thanks
Enjoy the videos , I like the music in the background , you should mix in some good bluegrass
I have this same setup in my 64 and the lokar shakes my shifter at idle - you have that issue at all?
Never had this problem
This was helpful thank you!
My rod is little longer. Can I cut it? .. put on park measure from there? Thanks
What do I do if the stud that you bolt the selector onto the transmission breaks?
Nice video man. Good to see you back. Are you going to make some kind of indicator on the column so your Dad isn't driving around in second gear🤔?
William Lane Yes no doubt
So I was driving and hit a pot hole the arm that connects to the transmission came off so I was stuck on drive lol any trick so it can stay on for future driving

Is there anything on the xmsn side holding it in place other than the Allen screw? Mine has come off twice now.
I’d have to check that out ,everything seem to tighten up pretty good on mine, my dad still drives this truck twice a week seems to be doing OK, just make sure yours isn’t in a bind anywhere that could cause a problem
Gibson63 thanks for the reply! I’ll tighten her back down and check for any other issues.
I think that's why he made the dimples for the set screws, try lock tight
Looking good man! Hope you used lock tight on those hex lock screws.
Austin Harmon Yes I did go back with locktite
Did you put in a neutral start switch?

Yes it’s The original standard 3
Have any trouble with the headers?
Oil did you get this kit and how much did it cost?
Great video!!
Same thing for a 73 k25 I assume to right
Did you have to cut the shaft
No did not have to cut the shaft
Thanks Brotha 💪
Would this work on a new 6L80 in a 72 C10? CPP says they don't have a kit yet as tested.
Don’t know for sure on that one
mel rich that’s what the other nut in the kit is for
I used same kit on my 53 gmc 4.3 vortec and a 4l60e only issue is my truck is 4x4 with a 86s10 chassis and the aluminum arm hits the front drive shaft
dan rasmussen I was surprised how easy this kit went on this truck just one bend and never had to cut the shaft
They have a cable version
where did you buy the linkage kit
where can i buy this part? at 2:19 like the whole kit.
I know this video was from a while ago but what was the reason of putting this on?
Wesley Welker looks like he went from a 3 on the tree to an auto and didn’t want to buy a whole new column. Exactly what I want to do.
Thank you
Damn that's nice
Military Chevy Thanks
Hey where did you get this kit at??
Thank you.
Thank u for sharing

Is that a 6l80e transmission
Come on?!. 6l80E "E" stands for electronic. It's a TH350
HMMM...you used your manual column
Yes this will get me on the road for now later on I might decided to do power steering and change sometimes around
I hope your already planning your next project to video,, If not, I won’t have anything to watch and learn from on TH-cam
Aren't u afraid of getting dirt under your NAILS?
No man love the dirt and grease, but this was a pretty clean job
Do you use locktite?
