Hook has been in the hyper bolic time chamber for a while now and has gotten way stronger. This is why fighting tough opponents is so important.
ma dude from random #1 psn guy, participated in local weekly tourney, qualified for the summit, got picked up by NRG, traveled and praticipated more important tournies and placed well like even placed 2nd after lost to ChrisG, then won #1 in the Summit after beating Go1,Sonic and Fenritti..those happened only in few months ago not even half a year lol Hook evolved real hard man.

I watched several of his games against really really tough opponents, even several matches against SonicFox and with each encounter, him getting closer and closer, stronger. Now he finally did it, it's really amazing to watch.

Hook is actually my hero.
He plays Piccolo even though he's trash just because he likes him and still beats players like GO1.
Also, he got good by playing online which a lot of people try to tell you is not possible.
Hook got bodied when he started doing actual big tourneys. Remember how ppl hyped him up vs sonic before their first fight and hook got 3-0'd. Hook reached this level by continually fighting big names like sonic, go1, chris, nakkiel etc offline. Offline and online is different as online always have the 2 or 3 frame delay usually. There is no substitute for actually competing in tourneys and making top 8 consistently

My point was that, yea, online play doesn't get u far in tourney play.
HGG was a major underdog not just because of the past tournaments but because he also doesn't hold the prestige of the other top DBFZ players. ChrisG is a top Street Fighter IV, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Injustice, Skullgirls, and Marvel Infinite player. Dekillsage is the #2 player in Skullgirls and a top Marvel Infinite player. Dogura is the best Guilty Gear Xrd player and a top BlazBlue and Street Fighter V player. GO1 is a top BlazBlue, SFV, and Guilty Gear Xrd player. SonicFox is THE top Skullgirls, Injustice, Injustice 2, and Mortal Kombat X player and ranks among the best in Marvel Infinite.

Every one has a zone and HGG was in it, while go1 and sonic fox were not imagine if they all went into the zone it would be sick that's why HGG won the tourney he was in super concentrating mode.

Not going to lie, that opening salvo with the TOD combo from Cell really bothers me. I'm getting back into this game, and dont get me wrong, I'm enjoying it, but I just dont think any game should punish you that hard for a single missed block. It's a little ridiculous.
