It's a baby Tahoe! I love it! It's bigger than my 2011 Equinox but smaller than the Tahoe with more cargo room when the third row is up. I will seriously be looking into this when it comes out.
Plywood should fit. I just saw Redline reviews video on it and he says that the new traverse is actually longer than the Tahoe. That will be nice. I actually put plywood on top of my Equinox and broke the antenna from the roof because I forgot to take it off.
Nathan, the highest end of any volume Chevy model used to be the LTZ. It's now known as Premier. The highest end of the new Traverse is High Country just like the Silverado . I wonder if the Traverse has a Premier trim as well....
wow I never knew Chevy could make this spectacular vehicle it looks like a bulletproof solution to almost every Transportation issue and size is crucial
I think this is a very nice looking. Crossover looks better than the current Traverse by a mile. Also this does not have the Push Button shifter setup in the Terrain.
Peugeot 905 It wouldn't have the push button shifter because the terrain is not the gmc equivalent of the Traverse. The equinox is the Chevrolet version of the terrain, and the 2018 version does not have the button shifter as well.
Am I the only one who thinks the RS model should have a twin turbo V6 instead of a four cylinder and have AWD available or even standard? None of the less, I'm very impressed with this new model. I'm hoping to see a full review soon.
Chevrolet RS does compete with it in looks only and low end torque acceleration. Kind of like the CX-9 does in 0-35 mph acceleration. That the key to the RS; to just go slow and accelerate and not go past the 50 mph where the turbos peak out and it goes much slower in terms of acceleration! But most people just gun it at stoplights and very slow speeds to get the rush anyways! They not pro racers that go 150 mph and need passing power to pass someone ahead of them that is going 160 mph! LOL!
Joe Smith And if they offer a trim with a V8, I think they should call it the Traverse Z06 or something like that if they give us the engine from the Corvette Stingray.
Good gas mileage, 8 Seats, Excellent Tech, and a Sunroof / Moonroof is what I've been waiting for. I've have the Honda Pilot, Hyundai Sante Fe, Toyota Highlander and the 2018 Chevy Equinox on my short list. Hopefully the 2018 Chevy Travers can make it to my garage. Can't wait to see it when it gets to the dealerships.
The 2012 Traverse we have also has some blind spots, it's very hard to see out of the back and the whole rear end, the trunk with the 3rd row up looks a lot bigger too, Good job Chevy I like, looks more Tahoe/suburban like! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
They gave the new Traverse a more truck like appearance. Additionally, I was looking on the Chevy website and the All Wheel Drive system features an available "off road" mode. The normal all wheel drive mode is called '4x4" mode apparently. There is an available "tow/haul" mode. They added the "High Country" trim which had previously only been available on the Silverado. The term "4x4" is typically used to describe four wheel drive systems on trucks. And you usually only find "tow/haul" and "off road" modes on trucks. It seems like Chevy is aiming to try to market this crossover as if it was a truck. In any case, its definitely a big improvement all around over the outgoing model.
Clorox Bleach Theoretically the chin spoiler comes off quite easily. In reality, it does come off but it takes some time to find all the screws. Once it is off, the Colorado has an ample amount of ground clearance for most situations. And being a truck it can be lifted if you really need more. Also, my understanding is there is an off road oriented version of the Colorado coming out that does not include the chin spoiler. Combine that with a rear locker and it will handle most off road situations just fine.
I like this vehicle. It is packes with a bunch of safety features which I feel is more important than ever. I also gain a sense of a more refined quality especially with the interior and color combinations. I like the rear seat functionality with keeping the child seat strapped and still able to maneuver the seat to allow people to get into the back.
Wow! GM finally got it right with the Traverse. Beautiful model, very functional, doesn't look cheap anymore...bravo. Now, I can't wait to see you guys test it in the wild ;-)
Chris C Yes he is. But everyone is at an auto show trying to get out those videos! The first one out on a desirable vehicle, will get double or triple the views since there is no competition!
I kept wondering why the 2018 Traverse looks familiar. Then it hit me. I may have changed platforms, but looks alot like the old Acadia. GM just seemed to put the old Acadia body on this new Traverse, and change a few exterior appearances. I still love the look. High Country!!!!!
This looks like a serious contender in the segment....also looking at the Pilot but the 9 speed transmission, infotainment and that panoramic sunroof with only cloth barrier (heat) are drawbacks for us. Acadia is now too small. Looking forward to test driving (still going keep our Odyssey though!).
honestly I never have any American car b4, I always Toyota or Honda many ,many years but I will get this one when they come out. The high country one, good job chevy.
I think it's getting ridiculous with these 9 speed transmissions. I currently own a 17 Traverse and 16 Silverado great vehicles but the transmissions are always shifting up and down back and forth between gears. It's very annoying and pulling a trailer only exasperates the issue.
ECDT1089 There are going to be a lot of people really pissed off if the Blazer comes back as anything but a body on frame truck with a real 4x4 system.
For some people the traverse is too big to be hauling around. The Acadia is small but yet it has a ton of space In side. It's like it never changed size.
Finally something that really looks like the son of the Trailblazer. I loved the Trailblazer (not the long trail one though), and it's first traverse offspring was weird looking. This is nice..The Trailblazer SS with the vette motor is LEGENDARY. So why not take the motor out of the 18 "SS" muscle car n throw in here
Jackal's Outdoor Channel yes you pay for that in the beginning but it will help you on the retail end I wonder if they could be removed I'm sure they can say goodbye to a flat load floor though
I said the same thing on Autoguide's coverage video on the traverse and I'm going to say it again here because I want some other people's feedback on this too. Anyways, is it just me of does it look like the perfect love child of the 4Runner and the Explorer from the side profile of the vehicle?
Are you guys going to do a ike gauntlet on these? As these replaced the blazers, and you did the ridgeline, it'd be nice to know the towing of these under your real world testing.
USB- C Port Ford's engines are complete junk. Their ecoboosts become disasters after the warranty is done. The wife's 2013 Escape had an Ecoboost and it overheated, puking coolant everywhere. hochhaul The majority of ecoboost engines will hit 200-300k no prob not to mention Ford ranks pretty well for reliability even better than some Japanese companies like Nissan and Subaru, and they are about on par with honda.

Ok, all you GM suckers have been bashing Ford for small turbo engines. Gm is going to have to install a v6 turbo in their pickups if they want to get 18 mpg mix driving. Like my 2016 F165.
GM gave the sporty model the small underpowered 4 cylinder engine and made it FWD only and are claiming its more exhilarating than the V6 models? Yeah, that sounds like they were taking some heavy drugs when thinking of making a sporty model. Hopefully, they go on rehab and actually make the RS model sporty by tuning the suspension since according to Car And Driver, there are no suspension changes, and like I said before, putting in the Twin Turbo V6(and in the High Country to justify it's price) found in the Cadillac CT6 and making it AWD. With that, GM can sell more of these, like I said before.
With the ever-increasing number of bells and whistles, will it be practical to plan to keep a new vehicle for 10 or more years? I'm thinking of there being just too many things to break...
hi . I have 2 questions Q1/ how it does compare to gmc acadia? its larger or same size because they were previously like a twin with different appearance? Q2/ the previous model had max cargo capacity of 116 cubic feet but the New one has only around 100 cubic feet. how come they said its larger? can't get it

i hope they updated android auto with it, i recently got a volt as a courtesy vehicle because mine was being serviced and that one had android auto and it was terrible it took like 20 minutes to connect to it and the bluetooth is terrible too
THIS WILL DRIVE SALES THROUGH THE ROOF! I honestly think they are just having production problems with the Acadia cause when i see them on the dealers lots they dont last long! NIETHER WILL THE TRAVERSE! But the Enclave won't disappoint to be they best looker!
Does the incorporation of non-defeatable Stop-Start technology into the 2018 Traverse and Equinox vehicles bother anyone besides me? For me, it's a deal-killer because of the huge amount of stop-and-go traffic I deal with every day. Why can't GM offer an over-ride on this system?
I seriously don't know who would want to pay extra to get a 2.0L Turbo I4 engine with 255 horsepower and FWD. I mean, nobody buys V6 Dodge Challengers so why should we pay extra for a tiny Turbo engine and FWD to get a sporty model? That makes no sense. Hopefully, GM gets some sense knocked into them and realizes no one wants to pay more for less power to get a sporty model. Not just that, let's hope that GM also gives that RS trim the Cadillac CT6's Twin-Turbo V6 engine and AWD, as well as a sport tuned suspension. With that being said, that engine should also make it to the pricey High Country trim, as well as a diesel option. I mean, adding a Twin Turbo and AWD would make the RS more expensive but no one cares, people would rather pay extra money to get a real sporty performance crossover, same thing for the High Country, the Turbo V6 could bump the price up but it would make its overall value better. About that tiny 2.0L Turbo I4 engine, that engine should be used for an affordable Eco trim for shoppers who want better fuel economy but don't want diesel. But we can only hope someone at GM knocks some actual sense into them. If that happens, then the stuff I said they should do will happen.
It's a baby Tahoe! I love it! It's bigger than my 2011 Equinox but smaller than the Tahoe with more cargo room when the third row is up. I will seriously be looking into this when it comes out.
John Cook I actually think you can get a 4x8 sheet of plywood in the back and close the hatch
Plywood should fit. I just saw Redline reviews video on it and he says that the new traverse is actually longer than the Tahoe. That will be nice. I actually put plywood on top of my Equinox and broke the antenna from the roof because I forgot to take it off.
Get a new Tahoe or Suburban over this. I have an Enclave and these are not as good of a vehicle.
Ralph L He's talking about the NEW body style traverse, not the old m8.
DynamixHD I get that. Still not the same.
Nathan, the highest end of any volume Chevy model used to be the LTZ. It's now known as Premier. The highest end of the new Traverse is High Country just like the Silverado . I wonder if the Traverse has a Premier trim as well....

Michael Cavalieri size is crucial that's what she said lol
Nick Dovie yes I understand my wife calls me soup can LOL
Michael Cavalieri. haha omfg lucky girl....
It looks very good! Nice job, Chevy!
I think this is a very nice looking. Crossover looks better than the current Traverse by a mile. Also this does not have the Push Button shifter setup in the Terrain.
Peugeot 905 thank god no stupid buttons
Peugeot 905 It wouldn't have the push button shifter because the terrain is not the gmc equivalent of the Traverse. The equinox is the Chevrolet version of the terrain, and the 2018 version does not have the button shifter as well.
Peugeot 905 Has a mechanical gear shifter too! No clone BMW electronic shifter!

Am I the only one who thinks the RS model should have a twin turbo V6 instead of a four cylinder and have AWD available or even standard? None of the less, I'm very impressed with this new model. I'm hoping to see a full review soon.
No, I wish they offered a model to compete with the Explorer Sport and Durango R/T. Hell, throw a trim in there that uses the V8.

Joe Smith And if they offer a trim with a V8, I think they should call it the Traverse Z06 or something like that if they give us the engine from the Corvette Stingray.
the RS is just a design package
I saw this suv in a parking lot yesterday and it caught my attention. Very sharp looking vehicle, impressive!
Now that the Equinox is smaller and the Traverse is bigger, Chevrolet has a slot to fill. Hopefully it'll be called the Blazer!
ECDT1089 It's called the GMC Acadia!
DynamixHD I said Chevrolet, not GMC. There's a rumor Chevrolet will create a crossover that slots between the Equinox and Traverse....
ECDT1089 That would probably be a rebadged Acadia....
ECDT1089 or the new bronco
@@ECDT1089-EtheLamborghini woah that’s weird because there is a blazer now
The 2012 Traverse we have also has some blind spots, it's very hard to see out of the back and the whole rear end, the trunk with the 3rd row up looks a lot bigger too, Good job Chevy I like, looks more Tahoe/suburban like! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
looks way better than current gen
Uhmm... FINALLY! The last gen Traverse was in serious need of an upgrade. This uh.. actually looks umm wats that word I'm looking for... umm.. good. .
Very good looking. Chevy is going in the right direction with form and function
Sofyan from Redline Reviews was in the rear view mirror! Haha
They gave the new Traverse a more truck like appearance. Additionally, I was looking on the Chevy website and the All Wheel Drive system features an available "off road" mode. Clorox Bleach Have you seen the chin spoiler on the Chevy Colorado?
Clorox Bleach The wheelbase is a bit long
Clorox Bleach The Colorado is on a truck chassis. Its body on frame.
Clorox Bleach Theoretically the chin spoiler comes off quite easily. In reality, it does come off but it takes some time to find all the screws. TFL Truck has actually talked about this at length in previous episodes.

I also gain a sense of a more refined quality especially with the interior and color combinations. This is a nice vehicle and it's AWD
I'm a Honda fan but I really like this. The Acadia becomes really small, thank god Traverse kept its size.
Finally L.E.D lights!!GM has really advanced on its tech and style!#TeamChevy
About time they fix the traverse. The old ones were so crappy. Cheap cheap
Always important that you be able to access your tablet while driving. Great message, Chevy.
Wow! GM finally got it right with the Traverse. Beautiful model, very functional, doesn't look cheap anymore...bravo. Now, I can't wait to see you guys test it in the wild ;-)
+M Payette We hope to test it in a few months.
I see Chevy Changed the style of the Traverse for 2018-and it looks nice, too

That was actually kind of creepy.
Chris C You watch the wide angle on this video at his Traverse video! Kind of interesting!
HW2800 Andre is a busy man.
Chris C Yes he is. But everyone is at an auto show trying to get out those videos! The first one out on a desirable vehicle, will get double or triple the views since there is no competition!
Soyfan Bae ;)
Great video! One of the best feature videos I've seen on here.
+Brian Thank you.
Just got it! I get so much compliments on it.
Looks great. Was way overdue for an upgrade. But I can't understand why the 2.0 turbo only comes with FWD.
I kept wondering why the 2018 Traverse looks familiar. Then it hit me. I may have changed platforms, but looks alot like the old Acadia. GM just seemed to put the old Acadia body on this new Traverse, and change a few exterior appearances. I still love the look. High Country!!!!!

Great introduction to a new product!
Wow if they offered a 5.3 v8 in this traverse this model would be a monster
I think it's getting ridiculous with these 9 speed transmissions. I currently own a 17 Traverse and 16 Silverado great vehicles but the transmissions are always shifting up and down back and forth between gears. It's very annoying and pulling a trailer only exasperates the issue.
lawnman lawnman You know there is trailer haul mode, right?
glad they kept it big unlike the new Acadia. Which they ruined.
I actually really like the new Acadia. Yeah its smaller, but it looks good.
Michael Miller they made the Acadia smaller so they could have different sized midsize suvs. For some people the traverse is just too big.
That's going to be the new Chevy Blazer!
ECDT1089 There are going to be a lot of people really pissed off if the Blazer comes back as anything but a body on frame truck with a real 4x4 system.
For some people the traverse is too big to be hauling around. The Acadia is small but yet it has a ton of space In side. It's like it never changed size.
I like the look of it.If I did get one though I wouldn't want the 4 banger.Sounds to me like the 6 has decent power for that type of auto though.
I'm so glad they didn't mini-size the Traverse like GM did with the new Acadia.
Finally something that really looks like the son of the Trailblazer. I loved the Trailblazer (not the long trail one though), and it's first traverse offspring was weird looking. I'm glad the went with a bigger center console, we have a 2012 Traverse and the center console is almost non existent
I like the brown interior but not a fan of 3 row seating..
Jackal's Outdoor Channel you can get rid of the third row seating you fold it down it is also usable for adults very comfortably
I understand that but I don't wanna pay for something I don't need and I'd rather those 3rd row of seats were converted into storage space...
That is a HUGE engine bay.. could fit a V-8 in there..
they made it from good to amazing
Are you guys going to do a ike gauntlet on these? As these replaced the blazers, and you did the ridgeline, it'd be nice to know the towing of these under your real world testing.
Would be nice if we had these big tourers in the uk.
ok, color me impressed. what really struck me was just how little plastic there is in the engine bay.
It needs High Country badges even though I don't approve of the trim level lol. And a LED light in the center console.
This guy would be a fine spokesmen if he didn't say um every 5 seconds

Ready to buy one but must be with inside Clear
I thought it was a new V6 from ground up ? The specs sound the same as the old 3.6 with timing chain failures.
It's finally here😍😁
I'm surprised they aren't adding the diesel that they're putting in the equinox
They put too much stuff in cars. People just need to learn to drive and teach their teens how to behave.
Taylor Wright I agree; I'll stick with the base version for durability. That's just me. As far as TEENAGERS go, depends on parenting. Just saying
73funkfest yeah & you don't want a car so big ya can't still reach back & slap em when they act up lol
Throw turbos on that 3.5V6 and now you're competing with the Explore sport. Whats with putting these "baby" engines (2.0turbo) in big heavy vehicles?
I like the vehicle but just wondering where is the rear entertainment? Tv's dvd player..?
See you at the rental car lot!
Hows the 3rd row, i hope they raised the seat
It looks like a cute baby Tahoe and the equinox's big brother. I 😍 it.
uh...speaker was really bad, uh,.....uhm.....uh.....
you can get in the back seat by pulling a lever ?? woooow.. i never woulda thought.. thats amazing lol. wtf.
WHEN will Chevy realize that light gray and brown don't go together?!?!
Ok, all you GM suckers have been bashing Ford for small turbo engines. Gm is going to have to install a v6 turbo in their pickups if they want to get 18 mpg mix driving. Like my 2016 F165.

With that, GM can sell more of these, like I said before.
Any news about the new Buick Enclave?
+DRIZZLE SQUAD No. :(
Not at detroit. So I bet it will be New York
DRIZZLE SQUAD I can't wait to see the enclave!
TJC450 Or Chicago (their big show is next month).
DRIZZLE SQUAD I think it debuts in New York in April.
2018 Traverse is OK I prefer the previous design
Very nice Chevy!!
Can I get this in 8 passenger configuration?
Is this guna replace the Tahoe
I wish they had picked a different color to debut it in. Dark colors don't show well.
Larry I thought the same thing. It doesn't do justice to the vehicle inside.
Traverse designers "If we sneak and Audi grill in there will anyone notice"?
With the ever-increasing number of bells and whistles, will it be practical to plan to keep a new vehicle for 10 or more years? I'm thinking of there being just too many things to break...
9 speed aut!! :o that is big
Chevy should make a 4 leader because 3 isn’t enough
hi . I have 2 questions

Q2/ the previous model had max cargo capacity of 116 cubic feet but the New one has only around 100 cubic feet. how come they said its larger? can't get it
mohammed alyaqout larger I Believe by 10 inches it will be class leader in size
Will there be an updated Buick version of this as well?
Will Dumont most likely.
I would be filthy rich if I get paid everytime he said "um" in this video
What kind of teen is driving a huge 50k+ suv?
high county is supposed to go after the platinum from ford and I think platinum is way better
kai siaki if you like the platinum ford try a GMC Acadia Denali. Beautiful.
Clorox Bleach platinum offers alot of cool features and even engines I like it because it's something that you would see in a licoln

also i hope they fix the terrible 3.6L timing chain issue with it too.
Is the 6 cylinder the same engine as the one in the 2016 Cadillac SRX? Or a new engine?
Spence Walton they use the 3.6L V6 in so many things, it's probably the same engine.
does it seat 8 ?
It’s actually 310 hp 266 lb ft
which auto expo is this?
