I am very impressed w my AWD LS - I’ve gotten 29 MPG on highway, and about 18-20 around town. It has a very smooth ride, good acceleration. I like LS, only trim with 8 seats, you can easily get back into third row and trunk space is good. Great standard features.
I don't get why all these cars only have a small light that's shows their blind spot but a lower end Honda Civic has a camera that turns on when you signal right so you can see everything.
Well Honda is getting rid of that feature on its future models. The 2017 CR-V doesn't have it & nor does its newly redesigned Odyssey and Accord. People find the Blind Spot Monitor thing more useful, that's why Honda is getting rid of it and adopting the Blind Spot Monitor thing
Consumer Reports is worried about the safety systems not being available throughout all trim levels, but they never mention the lack of a rear center seat headrest on the 2nd and 3rd row bench seats. This is a safety deal breaker if you plan on anyone sitting in those seats. Not sure why GM has omitted this throughout their vehicles (Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Cadillac).
This vehicle checks all the boxes. Chevy got everything right all the way down to the solid fabric sunshades. One thing that is shady is the limitation on safety options on lower options. Wonder if I can get a fully loaded 8 seater with the dual sunroof?
For what reason, styling? Have you ever had a minivan before? We are in the market for an SUV (need the AWD for trips up the mountain) but have come to the realization that we need keep our minivan as our third car because nothing is more practical.
Rented the 3ls model for the weekend. Hard to see behind you on the highway but the video enabled rear view mirror makes up for it; must have feature. This is the closest thing I could find to an awd mjnivan with decent ground clearance; maximum cargo space is important to me. Drove well. Visors are not wide enough when driving into the sun but I assume there is an aftermarket solution for that. I did the full coke can test in the second row doors; failed - lids mandatory. Everything else is good. Put a mountain bike sideways in it behind second row to check fit; ok but horizontal. You sit low in it compared to other vehicles; or I haven’t figured out the seats; 5’4”.
I am finishing up my second lease of a Traverse. Price jump is a deal breaker. No chance the LS or LT is worth over 40k. I guess it's time to change it up.
Jd powers Hahahaha. About as good as random dude on street telling you a car is good. I believe they survey new car owners after 90 days. So if you plan on keeping our car longer then 90 days it means nothing.
If you want longevity, get a Toyota or Ford. The Ford Expedition is the best one I know of so far! It's the only SUV I know of that STILL comes with a full size spare wheel and not the stupid doughnut!
When I buy a vehicle I could care less about the auto brake and forward camera collision garbage. It should just be optional on everything and every trim level if you are so concerned about it.
Don't think of it as a feature for yourself (after all "you" have already perfected and knows how to drive)...think of it as a great feature for all the dumb people sharing the road with you. Imagine all the accidents and headaches you could possibly be save from when that dumb inexperienced teenage girl busy on her phone has her vehicle alerted and automatically brakes before rear ending you!!! If this feature were mandatory and standard on all vehicle (which it will be soon), imagine the additional protection you'd have from all the other dumb and inexperienced drivers out there.
20 MPG with a V6 and a nine speed transmission? Does it have a 1/2 inch hole in the bottom of the fuel tank? GM should have been allowed to go out of business.
Our 2009 Buick Enclave gave me PTSD over 4 years of ownership with it's numerous problems. I just got rid of the Enclave by paying a dealer $5000 to take it off my hands. The check engine light was on again - this time the dreaded P0017 and P0008 codes - loose timing chain due to incorrect oil change reminder system interval, requiring an engine transplant. Just watching this review and all the commonality still present between controls and buttons between previous generation and this generation is giving me a mild anxiety attack. Refined or not, GM is trash and will always be trash in my books. Take that $50K and go buy a Lexus GX460 or a mildly used LX570 and you won't have to see service except for routine oil changes.
I like this car but I would rather consider waiting for the Buick Enclave because it is more luxurious in the inside and more sleeker on the outside especially in the Avenir trim and it is the real Cadillac of three row crossovers and I won't mind spending extra money for a more sleeker and a more luxurious car, it has the same interior measurements just with a more luxurious feel in a sleeker, more premium package. I am sure all these optional important electronic safety features in many today cars could be expected to be standard by 2020 and expect to see all these safety features standard in many 2020 cars.
If u think this vehicle is ugly u need glasses this new traverse is better looking then the rest out there , the highlander needs the rear make over, same with the pathfinder and the pilot looks too much like a female SUV like the crv from Toyota
Again with the whining about collision avoidance and auto braking. How about learn to drive the damned vehicle for yourself and pay attention on the roads? Just more garbage to break
Nothing wrong with new features that make a vehicle a little safer...you know, things like airbags, anti-lock brakes ect, and now collision avoidance auto braking. Don't think of it as a great feature for yourself (after all "you" have already perfected and knows how to drive)...think of it as a great feature for all the dumb people sharing the road with you who don't know how to drive. Imagine all the accidents and headaches you could possibly be save from when that dumb inexperienced teenage girl busy on her phone has he vehicle alert and automatically brake before rear ending you!!!
exactly! people forget you still need to be in control and be aware of your surroundings. people rely too much on these features that it's going to get them killed. untill ALL cars are autonomous, be smart and pay attention.
Joly shit that is a ridiculous price. I expected a lot more from GM for a lot less price wise. Late to the game and nothing distinctive in this segment for the high price
Blake Swan you have to acknowledge that GM is not going to sell cheap shit cars anymore all the other crossovers that it competes with can be optioned up to be quite expensive so why should GM be the one stuck making cheap cars?
(1) Rear seats seem low to the ground, so tall passengers will suffer. (2) Front center console seems ridiculously wide, unnecessarily impeding on the driver's knee room.
The 2018 Traverse seems really nice; too bad standard safety features on the $31k Toyota Highlander will cost you nearly $53k on the Chevrolet Traverse!!! WTF GM!!! SAFETY SHOULD NOT BE OPTIONAL!!!
Gm quality and reliability sucks compared to Toyota. I'd rather invest my money in a reliable mid size suv that comes with tons of safety features like the highlander.
Can't u guys come up with your own designs? Always copying Ford. Looks exactly like the Ford explore. Just longer nose. Wish Ford would sue the fuck out of chevey. Sick of all Chevys lies and played actors and actresses.
حسام Ford explorer,it's a cop car and they only chose the most reliable cars or some of the most reliable cars as cop cars. I've had mine a yr,no issues, funny thing, just rented a Tahoewas. less spacious ,not as comfortable or smooth riding, the trunk floor was actually slightly elevated rather than sunken down like it is in the explorer so less room for cargo, it guzzle gas, got its ass kicked by a ecoboost explorer on the highway and as we were ready to return it,the check engine light came on with only 23k on it,not to mention the starting price is 16k more than the explorer.
Just bought a 2018 LT cloth model yesterday. The shoulder seat belt height is adjustable. You have to simply compress the latch on the pillar and slide to your desired height. I was looking for the same feature and was happy to see they finally put it in a vehicle.
*rear sear reminder goes off* oh thank god i almost forgot my child
My dad is planning to get an SUV this month and this is PERFECT
This will be a home run for GM!
Bought one and LOVE it! But my only worry is the reliability plaguing other Chevy models, hopefully Traverse doesn’t have same issues
Any issues since you got it?
I am very impressed w my AWD LS - I’ve gotten 29 MPG on highway, and about 18-20 around town. It has a very smooth ride, good acceleration. I like LS, only trim with 8 seats, you can easily get back into third row and trunk space is good. Great standard features.
I don't get why all these cars only have a small light that's shows their blind spot but a lower end Honda Civic has a camera that turns on when you signal right so you can see everything.
Funky Fred but that's only if you turn right though
Well Honda is getting rid of that feature on its future models. The 2017 CR-V doesn't have it & nor does its newly redesigned Odyssey and Accord. People find the Blind Spot Monitor thing more useful, that's why Honda is getting rid of it and adopting the Blind Spot Monitor thing
Unfortunately Honda is getting rid of the camera and they will start using blind spot detection instead!
Funky Fred Honda got rid of that
Funky Fred I don't like the camera on the chic. The light is better because it's less distracting and easier to see then the cheap Honda camera
Auto emergency brake only available on top trims.... what is GM thinking in this day and age?
Why don't you ask them instead of boring us with your questions.?
When are you guys doing a Review on the 2020 Traverse? And what are the Improvements from the 2018 to the New 2020? Thanks.
Consumer Reports is worried about the safety systems not being available throughout all trim levels, but they never mention the lack of a rear center seat headrest on the 2nd and 3rd row bench seats. Would take this over a minivan any day.
Do your self a faver, buy a Ford or Honda instead, even Toyota is better...
For what reason, styling? Have you ever had a minivan before? We are in the market for an SUV (need the AWD for trips up the mountain) but have come to the realization that we need keep our minivan as our third car because nothing is more practical.
Brandon Rockwell my thoughts exactly lol
Keen Deng do yourself a favor & shut the fuck up.
Your a fool
Rented the 3ls model for the weekend.

I rented one of these and it was really nice to drive. Smooth, quiet, capable. But $50,000 seems like a lot.
I am finishing up my second lease of a Traverse. Price jump is a deal breaker. No chance the LS or LT is worth over 40k. I guess it's time to change it up.
I just don't trust GM for longevity. Any chance you'll do an update after 30-50k miles?
I've heard Buick has been doing good.
Chevy has 5 cars on jd powers most dependable list
Jd powers Hahahaha. About as good as random dude on street telling you a car is good. I believe they survey new car owners after 90 days. So if you plan on keeping our car longer then 90 days it means nothing.
If you want longevity, get a Toyota or Ford. The Ford Expedition is the best one I know of so far! It's the only SUV I know of that STILL comes with a full size spare wheel and not the stupid doughnut!
If only Cadillac had its own Traverse variant! All the other GM brands do!
What do you do with the cars you buy?
Drive them i'd expect, then burn them.
Is there no rear seat DVD/Blu-Ray player available on the 2018 Traverse?
No there’s not so go for a old model if you want it
When I buy a vehicle I could care less about the auto brake and forward camera collision garbage. It should just be optional on everything and every trim level if you are so concerned about it.

If people like that are on the road, they shouldn't be driving at all.
Newsflash: they are, and they make up the majority of drivers. Given the odds, you're probably one of them.
I'm impressed. Chevy really worked on the interior quality @1:23
Great review
False review on the traverse seats is so small, saw and sat on it in person.
Dodge Durango for me
Why aren't there any headrest on the 3rd row center seats or the middle seat on the 2nd row bench seats?
Your asking us go to a dealership and see for yourself.
For drivability I'd love this SUV, but for longevity I'd rather have the Highlander.
TheLanard Highlander is horrible.
Man in 10 years people want be able to operate a car without assistance... Smh
looks like the durango from the back
20 MPG with a V6 and a nine speed transmission? Does it have a 1/2 inch hole in the bottom of the fuel tank? GM should have been allowed to go out of business.
I think the issue is that it's 4500 pounds.
55K for a Chevy?
It's a lifted station wagon.
Chevy is going to hit sales like its Christmas!
Our 2009 Buick Enclave gave me PTSD over 4 years of ownership with it's numerous problems. I just got rid of the Enclave by paying a dealer $5000 to take it off my hands. I didn't see the entertainment system?
Yes it is offered check a dealership.

all fun and games until the transmission goes out
Would not trust the 3.6 At all knowing GM they still havent fixed the timing problems on these
It's kinda ugly but I also kinda like it.
It's kinda ugly but I also kinda like it.
I kinda like it but I also thinks it's ugly - reallly I do.....well not sure.
If u think this vehicle is ugly u need glasses this new traverse is better looking then the rest out there , the highlander needs the rear make over, same with the pathfinder and the pilot looks too much like a female SUV like the crv from Toyota
50k? Seriously?
mfmf100 bought a 2018 last year w. 1k miles on it for $28k. It’s an LS AWD w great standard options.
Again with the whining about collision avoidance and auto braking.
How about learn to drive the damned vehicle for yourself and pay attention on the roads? Just more garbage to break
It is going to be a required feature in 2020, just like TPMS....so get used to it.
Toyota has been rolling it out since 2016 standard on all models. Not sure if your in the 80's but get with the times.
Nothing wrong with new features that make a vehicle a little safer...you know, things like airbags, anti-lock brakes ect, and now collision avoidance auto braking. Don't think of it as a great feature for yourself (after all "you" have already perfected and knows how to drive)...think of it as a great feature for all the dumb people sharing the road with you who don't know how to drive. exactly! people forget you still need to be in control and be aware of your surroundings. people rely too much on these features that it's going to get them killed. untill ALL cars are autonomous, be smart and pay attention.
This is correct. The smarter the car, the dumber the driver.
Joly shit that is a ridiculous price. I expected a lot more from GM for a lot less price wise. Late to the game and nothing distinctive in this segment for the high price
wtf? its the biggest crossover on the market! its basically a minivan with style!!!
Blake Swan you have to acknowledge that GM is not going to sell cheap shit cars anymore all the other crossovers that it competes with can be optioned up to be quite expensive so why should GM be the one stuck making cheap cars?
Just without any of the minivan convenience.
(1) Rear seats seem low to the ground, so tall passengers will suffer. (2) Front center console seems ridiculously wide, unnecessarily impeding on the driver's knee room.
maybe the low seat height was a concession to vertically challenged kids?
The 2018 Traverse seems really nice; too bad standard safety features on the $31k Toyota Highlander will cost you nearly $53k on the Chevrolet Traverse!!! WTF GM!!! SAFETY SHOULD NOT BE OPTIONAL!!!
Kirk Kempen Toyota Highlander is junk. Very outdated and cheap interior.
Gm quality and reliability sucks compared to Toyota. I'd rather invest my money in a reliable mid size suv that comes with tons of safety features like the highlander.
Honestly, wouldn't want to spend time in the mid or rear seats.
There's plenty of room in both the second and third row for a 6' tall average American male.
I would rather have the Volkswagen atlas
two rising i bay chevrolet traverse as paw when i need as room when i need one rising i dontg. g. m. . financial services is blood shocker
this looks super ugly it looks like a mini van!
I don't want forward Collison as standard and I don't want consumers report telling me it should.
Can't u guys come up with your own designs?
Always copying Ford. Looks exactly like the Ford explore. Just longer nose.
Wish Ford would sue the fuck out of chevey. Sick of all Chevys lies and played actors and actresses.
WTF they made it smaller?
No the outside is smaller but has more room inside watch the video again.
I test drive one, worst POS I've ever driven! Handled like a tractor, had the power of a snail, and noisier than an old tank!
James Feeney Sure you did.
James Feeney what do you advice me to get and more reliable and nice driving.. tahoe or ford explorer .. thanks
James Feeney ya ok,
حسام Ford explorer,it's a cop car and they only chose the most reliable cars or some of the most reliable cars as cop cars.
Where just gonna leave the driving impressions to the professionals, thank you
That is a clown of the Toyota Highlander nice copy Chevy
It's becoming more like a minivan inside and out. Wth!
No a minivan is becoming more like an suv.
Yet another GM product lacking height-adjustable seat belts. We're not all the same height, GM. Fail.
Just bought a 2018 LT cloth model yesterday. The shoulder seat belt height is adjustable. You have to simply compress the latch on the pillar and slide to your desired height. I was looking for the same feature and was happy to see they finally put it in a vehicle.
