  • Watch the thunderous fury of a steam locomotive scorching down a busy mainline railroad! Frisco 1522, freshly restored, hauled her first passenger excursions in 1988, carrying over a thousand passengers on the Wisconsin Central from Chicago to Fond du Lac, Wis. In Part 1, we see how the 1522 crossed paths with the WC, and watch her break-in runs on freight trains.

This locomotive needs to be restored! From what I hear she is stored serviceable so that means I think it would not take much to get her running again

Many thanks for uploading this. This is one of two of your programs I'm missing from my collection. By MID-AMERICA do you mean MID-AMERICA CAR CORPORATION? Those would be the folks responsible for repainting Burlington Northern's EXECUTIVE F-UNITS two years after this video.
Though I knew & had to admit, you folks couldn't resist showing a few scenes of Wisconsin Central at work on their mainline hauling either freight traffic or PASSENGER EXTRAS. Even featuring detours of Amtrak's EMPIRE BUILDER on the WC.
